Real life has been keeping me busy and thrown me a few curve balls so I've been absent. I have some catching up to do I see.

I've been vaping a Bloog Katya sent me tonight. I just did a cursory reading but it seems they are all over the map. I got lucky and got what I would consider an almost perfect carto. The draw was great, put out tons of vapor, and never got hot on a fully charged 808. I have a second one that I'll fire up in the next couple of days.

I'm really saddened to see how varied the readings are. I vaped it before I came online to read and was surprised as I was half expecting everyone to have had the experience I've had.

On a side note, the 808's from Ross (Trueman's) have been working well for me. I've probably been through 10 and have not burned a single one! The only drawback to these for me is that I think the filler is a little stingy so I have to refill a little more often than I would like. Maybe that's why they aren't burning on me!

This is wise beyond the science (although still part of it, of course). I've mentioned before, the difference in the mega eGo attys/cartos in terms of 'mass' being the difference outside of ohm's law where the draw, vapor and flavor seem to be 'bigger' even though the wattage may be the same as in a regular 510 or other pv with the same combination of Volts and ohms. And while comments of Katya with regards to the XL may seem contrary to this, iow 'longer carto body/less performance' - the components - atty, bridge, metal mesh are also larger along with the body in the mega eGo attys/carts. I'm still puzzled by it :) but your 'system view' is close to explaining what I've experienced.

Not at all, Kent. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I didn't like the XL versions of traditional cartomizers, and I'm happy that Leaford seems to agree with me. I tried two XL kr808s and one XL 510, and they were just 'elongated', if you will, versions of the regular cartos. I believe that putting an extra long shell on a regular size cartomizer somehow disturbs that balance that Leaford describes so eloquently.

Mega eGo cartomizers and atomizers were designed from the ground up and all the components work well together. They provide the best vape available. The taste, the quality and the sheer volume of the vapor produced by them is unmatched. I still remember my first draw on my very first prefilled mega eGo cartomizer--I was in heaven. The reason I'm not using them today is poor QC and the fact that they are so cumbersome to refill. And because they don't last, at least in my experience. The eGo atties are, ironically, much easier to use and to refill, but they don't work out of the box. The ones I got leaked like crazy and I had to mod them (thank for the tips, BTW).

I'm tempted to order some of the cone-shaped eGo mega atties and try Cozzicon's white fluval mod. I watched his video and he seems to be very pleased with this mod. Have you tried the white fluval in your mega atties?

Thanks for all the info. I just learned how to find my posts to read replies, so forgive the delay.

Hi Bornwild! Thanks for the update. I'm glad we could be of help. I like my Rivas/eGos too. Did you get any of the cartomizers we recommended? Or are you just happy with your atties? Either way, congratulations on quitting smoking and finding a PV that you like. BTW, I've heard good things about that Leo...

Thanks! and reasonably priced too! For some reason I thought Bloog was more like SS or SE or something, in terms of pricing. I can spare 14 bucks on a new cigarette!

What's the deal with them? Are they better than the standard KR version? And what is the listed mAh? I didn't see it on the site?
(I'll copy this to Leaford's thread, so he can have a chance to answer)

Welcome back, Salt. Did you drive all the way to Santa Barbara in your truck? How did it go?

Now pay attention, dear. Bloog MaxxFusion batteries are 3.7v (at least for awhile :)) and comparable to SmokeStik batteries, similar nice switch and similar price. The Fusions are 14 bucks, but the new ones, the MaxxFusion, are 20 dollars (short and long ones).

I hate curve balls. I hope you're OK.

I'm so happy you got a good one. They have been a little all over the place wrt resistance, but generally the reviews have been positive. And Leaford is listening and inviting comments, both positive and negative, out in the open, which is such a breath of fresh air. I still remember those days, on a different subforum, when every negative comment, or even a question, was met with denial, hostility and often derision from the fan club. It wasn't pretty. So Leaford gets a lot of brownie points for the way he's genuinely trying to improve his product.

Bingo! There's nothing deadlier than an overstuffed cartomizer.

Actually those are the ones I was addressing as wel,l with that point - (iow, you were prefectly clear ;-) - the KR 'xls' and the 510 xl. I have the same consideratioin on them - just making them longer didn't work. Same with the earlier so call 'mega' 510's from TW. There is one exception, imo - the Nhaler 'mega carto' - regular 510 batt diameter size and while longer not like the "joye XL 510". The "mega eGos" expanded the rest of the system in terms of atty/mesh/bridge to make up for the size and they seem to work better as a result.

As to the fluval mod - I really like the oem filler on the mega eGo carts - both types, BUT I do a modification of the blue foam plug I was using (in fact I don't use blue foam anymore on the megas). With the blue foam plug I only kept about 1/4 of the length. With the oem filler I keep about 1/3 as a 'plug' and still use the straw mod although I use the Johnson & Johnson safety swab shaft rather than the coffee stirrer - the double barrel coffee stirrer can get brittle and the airflow is not as good, imo. Diagonal cuts on both ends, btw, to keep the top off the bridge.

I'm good Katya and thanks for asking. What would life be like without curve balls? Lessons never learned?

Overstuffed is a recipe for burning, I agree. These are really substantially understuffed though. I haven't measured but I'd say at least half the amount you "normally" see. Have to top off every 20 minutes or less as opposed to every hour or so with others.

Still, it's hard to argue that point when I have zero burned ones!

Wow! May run into the 'systems' flaw :)

These WERE the ones I meant but 'new' may be not the same - haven't bought/used them in a while:
510 Mega Cartomizers

Indeed.

OK, unless I'm completely losing my mind, the mega 510s and mega kr808s from Drew were standard size... But I may be losing my mind... Haven't used them in a while either. Too many cartos. Not enough time.

You're losing your mind ;-) They were a tad larger than standard - at least the ones from nhaler were.... But not as long as the joye XLs, for example. Never had the mega KRs from there. These were 510s. 3.4ohm and many thought they were boges, I think, but the boges I had were 3.0.
