If I understand the dilemma correctly, Aral wants 801 cartos but they don't carry the batts. If it's cartos you want to start with, I'd just go a straight 808 or 510 carto system.

I started with a 901 battery and atty and it got me off cigs and I enjoyed it very much. Still do sometimes.

It's always a tough call for your first PV. I agonized forever for some reason.

I'm not Neo but I know the answer. May I? :)

You'll need an eGo-t atomizer and and a tank cartridge. The best prices are actually in Hawaii...

You'll need one of these:

INFERNO - Tank-o-mizer

and a box of these:

INFERNO - Blank Tanks

Get a clear kind (any color but black) so you can see how much liquid you have in the tank.

They have a very limited warranty though, 48 hours (or DOA).

If you want to pay a bit more in return for a good warranty, go to Liberty Flights, Janty or Cignot.

I tried mine on a kr808 battery; looks comical, but works great--due to increased airflow and extra voltage.

Thanks Katya! You are always so helpful :)

I actually discovered that volcano has 2 stores here, of course they're both an hour away, and I've been meaning to pop in there to see an actual ecig store. This could finally be the motivating factor!

So now I'm going to bug you, lol, since you stepped in to help. Are you using your bloog battery in your rotation at all? How does your smokestik compare to it? I've been eyeing the Hendu, it looks really cool, but they only have prefilled cartos?

Do you know of anyone who's tried nhaler's "new technology" batts? They are supposed to be the same as bloogs but I can't seem to find any reviews on them anywhere.

Have you tried any of the horizontal coil kr808 cartos yet? I'm still loving them, decided I don't really like the boge as much anymore, they seem to get hotter just like the other verticals I was using. My horizontal TRU's from vaporsetc are still going strong, as are nhalers & ikenvapes. I rotate them a lot, I'm a little paranoid that they might have the issues like the bloogs, but I honestly haven't had any trouble with the 2 bloogs I have in rotation right now.

Thanks again for your help!!!

Hi Neo! Could you finally put this shirt on, or take it off, whichever way you're going? It's so distracting. I need to concentrate now. :p

Beachpuff, finally a subject I know well. I'll be happy to answer your questions. [BTW, I just put my eGo-t atty on the bloog battery and it works like a champ. Whistles like crazy, though.]

I'm a fan of SmokeStik, both the people who run it and the product, so I may be a little biased, but I'll try not to be. Yes, the Hendu is pretty and shiny and performs very well. AFAIK, Hendu was the first supermini with the new, improved switch. Bloog came later. I don't know if they use the very same technology, I suspect that they do. I really can't tell the difference between the two. When used side by side, the Bloog seems a bit stronger, but keep in mind that my Hendus are almost a year old and should be dead by now. But they refuse to die. I also own a SS Pitbull (a mini) and several bejeweled SS batteries. Hendu is still my hands down favorite. Those batteries are not true 3.7v batteries, like the kr808s; they regulate somewhere around 3.4v under load (for a Pitbull, as reported by Scottbee) and 3.6v for the Bloog (per Leaford).

SmokeStik cartos are phenomenally good. They have a horizontal coil, do not burn if kept moist, are easy to refill and taste clean. My problem with them is that they are 3.3-3.5Ω, which is way too high a resistance for 3.4-3.6v batteries. A 3.5Ω SS carto on a 3.5v battery will generate a paltry 3.5 Watts, that's really not enough, while a 2.5Ω Bloog on a 3.6v battery gives you 5.1 Watts. That's a huge difference.

As you know, I'm not fond of the Bloog cartos, but I'm still hoping that Leaford will fix all those burning/melting/funky taste issues associated with them.

I haven't tried Nhaler's batteries, but I have a feeling that they have a similar switch. That's what I read, anyway.

I used to love cartos with horizontal coil. My all-time favorite cartos were from Trueman, both the 4081s and the 510s. However, due to some serious QC issues, Ross at Vapors Etc stopped carrying them. It is a shame, because when they worked, they worked exceptionally well. Better than anything else out there, really. I loved them, and I'm not the only one.

I'm yet to try the new horizontals fron IKV and Nhaler. I was hoping they would offer them in standard size--I'm not a big fan of jumbos. When they burn, they take alot of perfectly good juice with them... And they make my little batteries big.

Aloha!

I know what you mean, the big cartos do make my batteries look silly. Nhaler does have the regular size cartos here: KR808D-1 Drippers Oh, and he alluded to a totally new amazing tank over on his sub forum today that should be coming out soon. Hmmm...

Thanks for the SmokeStik info. At first glance I thought they might be kr808 threaded, but no such luck. Still hunting for that super cool amazing perfect kr808, lol. I saw the Hendu in the classifieds a while back, which led me to keep looking at them every so often. I'm not quite ready to do another setup yet.

I think it will be really interesting to see what V4L comes up with in their new factory in China. I read that they are setting up their factory & maybe around summer time will have some new products. They've been having a lot of sales lately, especially with their clearance batteries, so hopefully they are making room for better stuff.

I've been experimenting with Ikenvapes 510 cartos on my kr808, and he's got some really good stuff. He's really impressing me at the moment, seems to be really involved with his products which is always nice.

I cannot put my shirt on for the whole month of March as I promised Bug I'd leave it off in honor of her becoming a vet.

Don't have any super cool amazing perfect 808 batts for you Puffy (that reminds me of Diddy...maybe I'll call you Beachy instead). I either use standard generic Kangers or V4L because I like the colors. I've found their batts to be hit and miss. I've got some that I've used constantly for 6 months and they're still great. Others have been horrid. I can't tell you how many I've sent back to them. The last two I returned wouldn't hold a charge for longer than 10 minutes.

Hello, Zelda! How's the weather? I hope the snow is melting and the tulips, snowdrops, daffodils and crocuses are finally emerging from the ground. Oh, the spring fever. We don't really get to experience it here in SoCal...

Our friend has been spreading rumors...

Little birdy? :)

No sightings yet... I'll let you know when I hear something.

Hey Katya weather is soso. Still not spring in New England yet. It'll be more than welcome after this winter though.

Thanks for the info.

I'm still using the CE2 cartos mostly and still somewhat happy.

GoodProphets is coming out soon with a 4 ml cartridge for the clearomizers. This intrigues me!!!

I'm gald you like your CE2s. Zelda. Do you have to do a lot of cleaning before you can use them? Mine tasted pretty awful, so I had to take them apart and soak and dry burn before I could even fill them up, so I gave up. But I understand that if you buy them from GotVapes, the wicks are clean. Where do you get yours? And how about refilling? I drove me bananas.

As for the giant cartos, I'm really not a fan. I don't like the idea of 4 ml of juice sitting in a carto for a long time being constantly heated and cooled and dirtied by the gunk that always accumulates on the heating coil. But I may be wrong about that... What do you all think? Ever since I started using the tankomizer, I can actually watch the juice getting darker in the tank... And it's only 1 ml that goes in the tank at a time...

Not to mention the fact that if it dies, and they all do die, eventually, I lose 4 ml of perfectly good juice. I'd rather refill more often, methinks, and just throw away the used cartos. I like my cartos fresh.

Lots of good chatter. Me likey ;)

Anyone got the inside scoop on these:
Dual Coil 510 Mega Cartomizer, 5 Pack

Dual coil 510 cartos? I really like the sound of that. I just bought some, but only found out about them a few hours ago... Has anyone heard o these?

Yes, I got en email from MadVapes. The idea of a dual coil is intriguing. However, this is a deal breaker for me:

"Please note that these are not sutiable for eGo, 510, 901 or mosfet driven type batteries. These are meant to be used with 3.7 volt mods with a switch capable of handling 2 or more amps. Simple testing shows that although these are low resistance, they work wonderfully on 5 and 6 volt devices. Your results may vary and the protection circuits on some batteries at higher voltages may see these as a short and not work."

I don't have a big mod to test them. The darned MOSFET. All I have is eGos and Rivas, no go for me. Of course, if they are really good, I might get me a nice VV device. I've been thinking about getting one for quite some time. I'm not there yet, though. I love my 3.7v Rivas and my 900 mAH eGos. MOSFET and all.

What are you going to use these on? Your Buzz?

katya, the clearomizer you had came from gotvapes. hopefully, those wicks are clean by now but that had been promised back then too.
i agree, i don't like my juice sitting in a carto for an extended period. 1ml lasts me almost a day, so those giant tanks are out for me.
i'm back to my original strategy - wait and see - at least for now

Hiya, Tibs! I forgot the carto you so kindly sent me was from GotVapes.

Bad made an announcement in his GV thread that the latest version is clean. I hope so. But all the others I got from other vendors had stinky wicks, I'm not going to name the vendors, it's not their fault, they sell what they get. I know that some folks got CE2s that tasted clean, but I wasn't that lucky. As I mentioned before, the only clean CE2 I ever tried was the one doctored (torched, adjusted, and otherwise babied) but BR. It was a R3, by the way. I'm still using it, but I have to dry burn the coil all the time as it gunks up really fast and I hate the taste of crud on the coil.

But I'm reasonably happy with the different Boge 510s and the tanks, for now.

Wait and see it is.

Well, if you own a Buzz and you are a dripper, why don't you get yourself a Cisco 306 atty? It's supposed to be every dripper's dream. And Isaac at IkenVape carries his own version of a 306 atty--2.0Ω. He's working on a wickless version, just for drippers. You'll need a special 306 drip tip.

Wow. Just got my Cisco's. I like to keep my Buzz set just where I like it for my cartos...but my Mini Vapestack just became relevant again. A lot relevant. My Buzz and KR's may just have to sit idle for a bit while I use these for awhile to see how I like them on the flavor and leakage front.

One of the main reasons I've been drip-topping cartos so long is because they have been just so low maintenance on the leakage front, but these Cisco's turn a 3.7 volt into a real killer. I hate leakage and love the carto flavor. But this is some mad vapor in a tiny package. Time will tell.
