Thanks Katya, that's a great start. Sorry this post is so long...A couple years ago I tried 801, 901, 510, whatever a Smoking Everywhere is, and KR808D-1. After months of experimentation I settled on the KRs at 5 volts. Then came the "Premiums" and "Cool Carts" on the V4L website, which I found to be much improved. I preferred the Premiums over the Cool Carts by a long shot and have used them happily ever since they came out, mostly on a Buzz at around 4.5 volts with minor adjustments depending on the
juice or carto, sometimes on the 3.7 volt shorty batteries from V4L. I leave the tops off and drip regularly so they don't usually burn. But I would say one or even two out of five cartos don't give me the premium long lasting performance I buy them for. When I buy 50 I figure on tossing nearly 20 after less than a ml or two and using the other 30 for 10 or 20 ml each.
Yeah, I parted ways with V4L when they decided to carry the very low resistance premium cartos (2.0Ω at the time) and discontinue the 3.0Ω premium cartos. Remember the whole big controversy about the soft vs. the hard caps? Well, I burned every single LR premium and just didn't care for them. At that time, other vendors began to offer their version of the 3.0Ω premium carto--VaporNine introduced the Turbo, Nhaler--the Mega etc. They were, IMHO, all the same (or very similar) cartos made by Boge for the kr808 users. I liked them a lot. [Eventually, V4L brought back the 3.0Ω carto and called it CoolCart.]
However, after the successful initial runs, subsequent shipments were of much poorer quality, overstuffed and prone to clogging and burning. So I moved to the 510 model and been happy with it ever since.
Happy to be settled down I just stuck with the one carto product from one vendor, too tired of wasting $$$ on experimentation to even figure out what other vendors carried the "Premium" KRs by whatever other name. Besides, I like V4L. That's the background.
As stated above, they are all clones, just rebranded.
I went to bloogplanet and hated the BS website. The Fusion! The MaxxFusion! All of these marketing names and nothing that tells you the real story on what model this stuff is - only carefully worded statements about how their stuff is better than the other guys without putting anything really solid out there. To me it is like the Smoking Everywhere approach - they just hope you stumble on their site and just buy without researching options. So, my question is, what's the real deal? Is there something new here worth buying? What's the dif between Fusion and MaxxFusion? Standard and Premium KR? What is a horizontal? Does it have filler?
Here are some great Bloog autopsy pictures:

After leaving V4L, Leaford started working for the Bloog and is responsible for the new MaxxFusion line (as opposed to the old Fusion that Bloog used to carry for ever). The real deal is that they were not ready for prime time. I tested them thoroughly (others did too but I can't speak for them) and I'm not sold. They taste off and develop a very strange burning chemical taste. At least most of mine did. I can't recommend them at this point. If you want to know more, visit the Bloog subforum. There's a lot of unhappiness being expressed there by many folks. Leaford has been MIA for very long time. I don't know what to think about it.
Horizontal coil is just a different carto design, but all of those cartos have filler. The coil is sitting on the bottom of the cartomizer, a bit like an atty coil.
Are there any fillerless drip and vape style KRs? That's what I think of when I hear "horizontal coil".
Not that I know of. The only dripping I ever did with my kr808 batteries was using 901 atties.
I went to Nhaler and have a few questions:
The KR808D-1 Drippers must be the horizontals you are talking about right? Available in 2.5 ohm and 3 ohm, but I saw no mention of horizontal coils?
They are called drippers because they have a drip tip shaped end piece, but they are regular filler type cartos. no dripping is involved.
And the jumbos...what is the benefit of a jumbo if you are dripping? And if you aren't dripping, doesn't the juice probably have a hard time wicking so far to the atty?
They hold ~ 2.5 ml of juice. They wick OK.
Mega Cartomizers? What are these, like Cool Carts I guess?
Correct.
Greenworld Cartomizers...? Are these as good as Nhaler says? Do they work on the KR or 901 connections? It looks like KR stuff must work on Greenworld stuff since the sell them both in the Greenworld section...?
I had GreenTech once back when V4L used to sell them...aparently not the same thing?
GreenCig Cartomizer Pics
Greenworld cartos are the new version of the good old GreenCig. Ever tried them? The only cartomizer that is practically impossible to burn, but a very hard draw and a pain to refill. I used them for awhile and actually liked them, but I gave up, eventually. I still have some cartos somewhere, want a sample? They are kr8 compatible.
Beachpuff: "The TRU's have the standard top (not the inverted drip style) on their horizontals, so they look like regular cartos. Ikenvape has the horizontal coil in his jumbos (again not mentioned on the site but confirmed via email & usage) too, and they also have the standard top."
I went to Ikenvape and they seem to have a whole broad range of different atty types. The only KR thing I saw was the "IKV MEGA LR KR808"...is that the jumbo? If not where do I find the jumbo? I searched "jumbo" on their site and came up with nothing. It doesn't look like ikenvape does a good job of explaining their products...but who does?
Yup, it's Isaac's new kr808 carto. The last IKV jumbo had a traditional vertical coil and was just OK. Nothing special. These horizontals are new and I hear good things about them. They came in LR (2.0Ω, like your beloved V4L premiums) and in 3.0Ω. Give them a try. The nice thing about IKV is that you can order just one or two cartos, and he offers a first class shipping option, so no big finacial commitment. I love his 510 cartos (the Drip tip and the 2.5Ω Premium Platinum).
I went to Vapors etc. Finally at least a solid description! The "Tru" Carto comes in "3.3 ohms, Horizontal Coil" and five for $6.95 - that's a killer price. Is there filler in these things or is the "Tru" more of a standard atty?
Yes, they all have filler!
Is there filler in any horizontal atty design? If so, how's that work?
Yes. Just like any old other carto.
The "Tru" also comes in "2.4 ohms, Vertical Coil" - hmm, can someone who has tried both share the difference?
EDIT: Actually, the 3.3Ω Tru cartos are similar to CoolCarts, only made by a different manufacturer. They have a horizontal coil, loose filler, wick better, vape cooler.
The 2.4Ω (vertical coil) Tru cartos vape hotter (lower resistance), wick great due to the loose filler.
However, I hear that they are going to be discontinued.
They have Boge LR (1.8 to 2.2 ohms) and HR (3.4 to 3.8 ohms). Allright, I'm guessing the LR is the same as V4L's "Premium" maybe and the HR are what? Like Cool Carts?
Yes and yes.
They also have blank no name cartos at 2.9 ohms? What are these, relatively? The old standard KR's I assume?
Yup.
Beachpuff: "Despite all the new negative reviews on the Bloog carto, I decided to try them anyway. Battery & carto combo really are amazing, way better than the "other" guys."
Please go into more detail...what is better? I mean...a battery is just a powersource right? Unless it has the frills of voltage adjustment and ohm reading.
The battery is nice, it has a new switch, very responsive, no primer puffs required. They are auto super minis, V4L has similar batteries, those with the jewel LED. So does Nhaler. No other frills. Just a better switch.
Katya: "I think that the fillerless carto is in the future. But the design has to be perfected and made user friendly. It's going to happen, I'm sure. Leaford is looking into it, too."
Are the Clear Cartos the same as CE2s? In the video it looks like they perform better than the CE2s were reported too, but they have the cracking/leaking issue...is that right?
Who is Leaford with these days?
Clearomizers are just a plastic version of CE2 cartos from MiT (Royal Smokers). They also make the kr808 version. If you want to try them, get them from GotVapes.com. Those guys know what they are doing--they have done all the R&D for Royal Smokers. Here's their thread in the suppliers forum if you want to ask them any questions. Great guys.
