Since it's a new tank, you may want to take it apart and have a look at the wick where it runs through the coil. If it's all blackened then it is indeed burning juices and either the battery voltage needs to be turned down or the coil needs to be replaced with a higher resistance version. If the wick looks clean, though, then what you're tasting is probably contaminants left over from manufacturing, and it just needs a good cleaning.

I agree with the others. Fist we need to know what OHM head you are using, then how many volts, or watts. Not knowing your experience level, you may not be priming properly either. You need to make sure the wicks are saturated, and also a couple of drops of liquid should be dropped on the coils. I usually wait about fifteen minutes after using a new head to make sure the liquid is absorbed by the wicks.

Ok. This is not my first vivi. I had a dual coil 1.5 and then I tried a single 2.4. I have a mini version of this vivi as well and I put the same juice in both. Big one burnt. Little one yum. I use an SVD. I tried it low, I tried it high. I tried it everywhere in between. This makes no sense to me. I even took the coil from the yum one and switched it with the burnt one and the result was the same. It's not the coils. What ever could it be?

Well I guess I lied. I didn't use the coil from the mini yet. I just did. Put in an extra sweet blueberry and no more burn. I also soaked and washed the tank and parts. But the coil I took from it, after a light rinse and dry, worked fine in the mini. Could it have been the yucky coffee juice I originally put in the big tank that was causing all the trouble?

It could very well be. I tried coffee once, and only once. YUCK!

I had a lot of trouble with vivi novas too when I first started, here's what I've learned and it's a great experience now!

1 - When you put in a new head, you have to dry burn to get the chemical primer/grease burned off the head with no juice in the tank. I usually do 16, 4 second blasts and that takes care of that. You can smell the chemical primer burning off and at about 12 blasts it starts to dissipate.

2 - You have to swish it around a bit, sometimes just hold it upside down for a second or two - as long as you don't making jerking motions, it shouldn't leak.

3 - MOST IMPORTANTLY, I found that the dry hits are really really reduced (removed entirely for me) if you cut your wicks down shorter - I bring mine down to about two centimeters on each side of the coil. This produces a warmer vape and no dry hits what so ever.

4 - When it starts to taste burnt again (usually a day or two of vaping) take it apart, rinse everything out, pat the wicks dry and dry burn again until you see a nice red glow of each individual coil - again you'll smell the burnt/built up juice residue burning off as the coils become red again.

Following these steps, I usually have a vivi head last about a month - I almost gave up on vivi novas but the taste of cartos is just yucky to me so I kept with it and it works great now. I use a ZMAX at 3.2 ohms with a 1.8 head.

Hope this helps, Super

I don't like the big Novas. Too much of a PIA. The minis work much better, but if you want to try something different that is also easy to use, try an EVOD. I don't get any burnt tastes with it, I think because it is a bottom coil.

Coffee juice is the reason it probably tasted burnt. Coffee juices are notoriously hard on wicks.

Vivi Nova mini here

Found that you fill the tank..then prime the wick with 1-2 drops right down the center hole and let it soak in a sec

Then on the first burn puff puff puff like crazy

If you don't prime the wick the juice never makes it to the wick under the coil inside the column and first hit is on a dry wick and poof...licking a charcoal briquette
