That's one of the questions I most often hear from people I talk to about my electronic cigarettes. Thought it might be a good thing to post for the other people who are here looking while thinking of getting into this.

Easy for me to explain, I smoked 2 packs a day at $5.40 per pack. That's $10.80 per day or $75.60 per week.

My first starter kit and 30ml of liquid came to just just shy of $60.00
I was able to completely leave the cigarettes alone (although not always easy).
So the first week I got to keep $15.00 and change in my pocket.

Second week I'm still using the original fluid so the only expense is electric to charge my batteries. $75.00 stays in my pocket and I'm now $90.00 ahead.

Third week I spend $60.00 on liquids. Another $15.00 saved. Third week in I now have $105.00 that would have went up in smoke.
And those liquids will last me another three weeks leaving me $330.00 to the good.

Then there are the things that I can't put a price on:

Improvement in my health - priceless
Not having to empty and clean ashtrays - priceless
Not having to clean the yellow off the car windows every week - priceless

That leaves me $330.00 plus ahead..

Bottom line - how can you afford it?
HOW CAN YOU NOT AFFORD IT!

and with some of the money I saved, I treated myself to some goodies to make my own juice..
even more money in my pocket, but, that's another story for another time..

Nah.. I'll leave that to you young folks.. I'm 60 years old and my KR808D-1 and Kanger T4's suit me just fine..

Its nice at first.. But when it becomes a hobby, and you have 10K plus in mods sitting on your desk, like i do now, then you re think the "cheaper" aspect? =)
Dont take me wrong. I love all my mods, well most, and im glad i vape and not smoke. But........ its expensive in my case.......

It is easy, even buying mods, new stuff, ohh shiny's. I also spent about $10 a day on cigs, set my vaping budget at 1/2 of what I spent on smokes. $300 a month smoking, meant $150 a month for vaping, save up a couple months worth and anything is within budget...

Some people seem to struggle with the initial investment. Mine paid for itself in a week of not smoking. Not much to think about.

I've set a budget for my vaping at 75% of what my smoking used to cost. It comes out to about $190 a month. Waaaaay more than enough. I'll probably decrease it even more to about $25 per month after I build up a nice inventory of gear and juice and DIY materials.

That's exactly why kiosk and shark B&M tic me off. I've talked to peeps in the smoking areas who've said the same thing. They would like to start vaping but can't afford it. I direct them to an online vendor selling an ego-style batt with clearo in a blister pack for about $15.00. Sadly, some have said they don't have computer access.... they're kinda down and out vets. I help where I can.

I agree, a vicious, VICIOUS cycle. I get soooooooo interested in all the pretty shinies, then I get that yummy solid vape with my plain and simple twist with protank. Brings me down to earth where Christmas is on my heels and I need my $. The most adventurous I've gotten so far is dry burning and rebuilding heads.

I've built up my inventory, and have made three orders in the past year, all about $30 - $40 for restocking. Have enough nic on hand for about 3 liters of juice...

Hey there, I too am a vet..
Do like I do.. spend a little of the savings and give out one of them blister packs and a 10ml bottle of good juice once in a while.
And the guys I ride with that are always curious but just not sure.. guess what they are getting for Christmas this year..

And in some places it is waaaay more expensive than 5.40 per pack. I think New York is much higher. Yet to order e-cig gear the price is the same

Yeah you stay ahead money wise until you start buying mods. But with the extra money/life you'll have from living longer, I think it's worth it.

Most of us are able to find vape satisfaction for a few hundred $. I can't even imagine spending $10k on this chit, as it's so ridiculous.

There is a vape a vet organization. They sell juice, and all proceeds go to providing vets with vaping equipment and juices. I got in on a monthly subscription to help the cause, not sure if it is still open, but for under $18, they send me 60ml of juice.

Not a bad thing. Vets deserve so much more...

Makes me want to reset my "money saved" counter to the cost of my original smokes (Newports) instead of the el-cheapos I was smoking before I quit - would make my budget numbers look better.

Yup, to each his own - I'm not gonna say how much I've spent on gear in the last 2 1/2 months, but it's a bit more than I would have spent on cigarettes. And I'm ok with that.

My smoker's hack was gone after about 2-3 weeks. I can't put a price on that.

I agree to each his own and I think it is note worthy that each is doing something much better for their overall health. I am perfectly happy with my Ego and my Vision Spinner so I don't have to worry about hundreds of dollars. I buy my juice (I use about 30-40ML per week) and replacement heads and set my budget for 50% of what I was spending on cigs at $9.00 per day. Oh and the occasional new tank as I can be a little clumsy and have busted a few Vivi Novas by dropping them (I am trying to do better) lol.
