Hey Reo people,

So, the Reo has been great, love it, ease of use, etc etc.

It seems however that the button is now going down further than it used to. I applied to Noalox to it and when I looked under it seems that either the metal "slab" that is under the button has broken off. I am not sure what to make of it but again, it appears that when I push down, the button goes further than it used to.

Any tips, please let me know!

Thanks

Had you looked at the tip of that metal piece before you noticed it going down further? The have a broad point to them. See if that pointed part is still there. If something broke off you should have seen a piece of metal in the REO.
Look at the spring with the battery out. Is it still expanded? In case of a short the spring will collapse down and drop the battery away from the contact point.

Yes right where it makes contact with the battery. Sometimes the buttons become dirty. The REO's can be rinsed with hot water. Take out the battery and the atty, you may remove the bottle and run water through the connector also. Allow to dry before use. You can use a blow dryer to speed up the process. Apply noalox and you are ready to go!

The button "needing" to be pushed further can be due to a couple issues. First, if the battery has been used for a while, the performance drops and it is a natural reaction for us to want to press the button harder in hopes that it will work better. When this happens, its a good idea to take the battery out and meter it to see where the voltage is at. Not every time, just a couple times so you become aware of what voltage the batteries are at when the performance drops. This way, you learn quickly when its time to remove the battery and stick it on the charger without running it down to dead.
Another possible issue is if the button has been mashed repeatedly for a long period of time, it could have weakened the contact. If you are mashing the button, it is a good idea to hold the mod up to your ear and press the button softly until you hear the atomizer. You will see that it doesn't take much pressure to fire it.
Lastly, too much Noalox will not help. In fact, it can make conductivity worse.
I hope something here has been helpful. :)
