im seeing this page for the first time today, it has stuff on it (as in, best/cheapest prices and where you get em)

PennyVaper.com

the mvp 2.0 is popular, and so is the SVD..

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...uys-one-do-i-get-mvs-cant-afford-provari.html

this is a long discussion here on ecf about Mods, made me look close at the SVD and the MVP 2.0. Apparently the MVP has a super hard to press button on it, and you cant swap out the battery...but other than that, folks kinda rave about it. The SVD has swappable batteries but its basically the same thing I guess as the MVP.

I think the lowest price on the SVD is about 47 bucks by itself, on here:

Innokin iTaste SVD Express

edit: you know, for the price (about 40 bucks) the mvp 2 is hard to beat, comes with tank+batt too...its the all in one. is it perfect? naw. but folks love it.

I am said friend that OP mentioned, and usually a mech user in 18500 mode. I totally understand what you're saying, but almost any VV mod (SVD, tesla, Zmax) are all monster sized in 650 mode with a tank type atty on them. It's the nature of the beast I guess. Compared to a T-3 tank and a Ego-twist though, it'll be a big difference.

The SVD uses pulse width modulation (PWM). I don't own one and wouldn't buy a PWM device, I don't like the way that 'regulates' voltage. This also removes the Vamo from any of my lists. I own and use the MVP 2 as well as an eVic (might want to look at this one). Yes, the mvp's fire button is stiff, but I got used to it in a day or so. Love the fact that I NEVER have to worry about it going off in my pocket. Locking mods is something that I ALWAYS forget to do, hehehe. I LOVE variable wattage, screw on an atomizer and it runs at my favorite 8 watts. No fiddling. Hope this helps. Good luck and have fun!

I kinda want an MVP 2 but I just started this vaping trek; I should get the most bang out of my basic evod vv for a bit longer.

But its difficult, cuz I see something shiny and then I want it. :( OO SHINY *pounce*.

Wait thats a bottlecap.

Vape tech has come so far in just a year and some; no telling where it will be in even 6 months. I have learned how to do coils, and that at least is an upgrade thats fun to do and helps with vape quality. I prefer to wrap them over a drill bit, the one I did by hand was awful (on silica wick too) and kept shredding the wick because I was trying to adjust it. A mess!

I prefer cotton wicks now, so simple to swap that out.

From what I've read they all use PWM. It's just that some use a chip with a low 33Hz rate which cases the rattlesnake effect. Does the SVD use the 33Hz chip? I wasn't sure about that.

I am going to be getting either the Magneto or the MVP. I can't decide. I want the MVP for the built in battery, as I do not have the budget to buy a lot of batteries and the chargers for the magneto.

Sent from my Galaxy S 4

I own both, they're both good for what they are but I've found my MVP sitting in my vape box just collecting dust after going mechanical.

I would be wary of buying the chromed brass Vamo- fingerprint magnet, scratches very easily and finish can wear off. A friend bought the Chrome and babied it big time- within 2 weeks it looked horrible cuz of the scratches. SS all the way. Everything else looks good. My 10+ month old SS Vamo looks great.

Yep. That rattlesnaking. That's what I don't like. I'm looking for a DNA 20 device

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/provari/381232-provari-oscope-vs-vamo.html

There have been discussions on this forum on the difference in the PWM (pulse width modulation) frequency cycles of the cheaper 33.3 hz "rattlesnake" PVs versus the higher 800 frequency cycles of the MVP, Innokin VV3, Provari, and the DNA mods. Not everyone can hear the rattlesnake sound (it is nearly sub-sonic) and not everyone notices the difference in the vape experience.

I own both Provari's and an MVP, along with a couple of other VV devices which use the 33.3 hz chip. I can tell the difference. It's subtle, but its there. I rarely use my 33.3 hz PV's because I prefer the Provari and MVP's smoother vape. The 33.3 hz PV's have to be adjusted to a lower voltage output due to their harsher (to me) vape.

Would you be able to tell the difference between a 33.3 hz vs 800 hz chip? Only if you had both to compare side by side.
