<--------- this guy is great

but he won't post.
You have to enter it in the box above the post. It's the 3rd box from the right ( if you put your mouse on it it will say "insert image"). Just click that box and enter that url in it then click ok.

ok,it's doing something different now. When I fire it up it burns very weak for about 2 or 3 seconds and the L.E.D. is brighter blue than normal with no hint of red (it always had that wee bit of red light) then the light fades and she stops firing.I dried it thoroughly and put fresh batts in it, even the CE2 was nearly new. So any ideas on this one?

If the center post on the carto or atty doesn't contact the screw it will do that. Do you have a meter? If you do see what the reading is on it with the button pressed on.

Besides what Salem said, I feel after all you do for us it is a privilege to help you.

EDIT: Make sure the screw holding the spring on the battery cap is tight also.

yeah I'll be outta here for a year long vacation in beautiful afghanistan Buzzkill. I take off in just over a week, which explains my mad dash to get this thing in top condition.

Well you have a better understanding of the device now , it seems as though you have a good background for this type of thing , try to keep the sand out of it LOL ! , between the alcohol bath and ground screw you should be able to keep it running , just try to not break the wires inside , IF they break at the PCB it will be bad ! >

ummmmm............ sand and crud? I guess you have put it through its paces lol

Yep, that's why I was surfing the classifieds for a back up buzz. Mine took a tumble with an ammo can off of a 5 ton truck (about 7-8 feet) and all I did was blow the sand out of it,replace the smashed GP-SSR tank and kept on vaping.
