ARMY ~ I'm glad you're Buzzed up before you head out. If you get stuck in the sand with no rations, you get word back and I'll proudly help get care packages together to see you through.

God bless you for that you and your brothers do. Stay Safe!!!

God Speed~

<<<<<< Jerry and I salute you.

thanks man, but hopefully it won't come down to that...I invested a huge part of my last paycheck to assure plenty of rations :vapor:

Sure wish they'd let me go with you buddy. We could teach 'em how.

But they tell me I'm too old.

Now all I have to do is keep salem straight ... so to speak ...

will do buzzkill, I did just score an infinity in the classifieds so hopefully between the buzz and infinity I'll have enough tough hardware to at least get me to mid-tour...actually while I'm here, how long (in approximate months) do the batteries usually last? I have 2 sets for each PV, think they'll keep holding a charge for about 8 months?

I am going to send you a new set for the Buzz with my care pkg today :) My batteries have lasted for 9 months now but probably good to have extras in your situation :) I don't have any for the Infinity but have you covered on the Buzz :) Matter of fact I may even be able to spare more than 1 set.

Don't go shorting yourself on batteries now salem. I treat these batteries like gold, even have their own little carrying case. So make sure you are absolutely 100% set up before helping me out. Oh yeah, got some good news (for me anyhow) they delayed my flight out by a day so I'll have all of next weekend with the family instead of just a day.

A buddy of mine was over in Afghanistan during thickest part of it. He wasn't in the field though he was a mechanic. He said it was tough to sleep will all the explosions and heat. Other than he said he was mostly bored waiting for parts to come in. lol I laughed because as long as I've known him he's always had the easiest jobs in life.

That's pretty much How Iraq was for me for 75% of the deployment. get so bored waiting for something to happen during the day, then mad because of mortar sirens during the night that we actually got excited to be able to roll out (I'm convoy security).
But they say where we'll be this time in afghanistan is a fairly quiet area run by NATO rather than u.s. commanders.Plus we're at the base of a huge mountain range so the weather shouldn't be too miserable except during winter (I'm a florida boy and don't much agree with snow)

About the heat your buddy dealt with, lemme just add that you have not lived until you've spent 10 minutes in a porta john in the middle of the desert during August.

I think I'll take your word on that. I can imagine that. We got court hearings been going on at Lewis-McChord over them guys killing Afghan citizens for sport. Their CO was a nut case.

They are spec'ed for 300 charge cycles , I have some that have been going well over a year ! , every once in a while I have had some that the protection PCB trips and the output goes to ZERO volts !! do NOT throw them away !!! let them sit for a few days then retest them , they tend to come back to life.
