Salem...NoLox is a thread lubricant and anti-seize..If you have dis-similar metals [steel, aluminum, brass, etc] in contact with one another you get galvanic corrosion and they will seize together. I'm not sure if the end cap is hard anodized aluminum or brass. At any rate aluminum threads definitely will benefit from the addition of NoLOx. Aluminum threads are notorious for galling due to the softness of the metal. NoLox is conductive to electricity so you won't lose ground...That's all beneficial.. so yeah...use it top and bottom. I shake the NoLox thoroughly and then squirt a bit on a paper towel. Then I use a tooth pick and hit the cap with 4 equally spaced dots. Then screw it back and forth a bit to distribute evenly. Wipe off any excess and be careful not to twist the wire on the top cap...Then Salem uwill b GOLDen.....

Adding NoLox to my weekend shopping list. Thanks for the tip!

Salem alcohol and a q-tip will work just fine...I've heard the electronics aren't super sensitive but I wouldn't want to get much on them. NoLox will seperate in the bottle so make sure to shake the crap out of it. Secure the cap, invert, and like KC said Shake,shake,shake............
Bovina I'm gonna hit up Mrs.T really soon...fsusa too to get the 30% deal...paranoid about my new debit getting compromised so I'll pick another card tommorrow...or not..Hell it's insured...Heading to Myrtle Beach's House of Blues for Black Label Soceity/Clutch/Children of Bodom soon...Mostly for Zakk's BLS...I'll pick out some country on the acoustic...but when I plug in and mostly that's what I do it's heavy, heavy...Hard, fast and heavy...All my electric gear is high gain stuff and I only hit the clean channel to switch guitars...Mainly influenced by Jimmy Page and Tony Iommi.. Still a fan of all types..heck Ricky Skaggs sent me a pass back in the spring...His band kicks it faster than many metal bands...Pushing 4 so I gotta go. Hope you all have a great day...I'll have a great afternoon...Bov try and feel better...

It's not the first time but I didn't get one last year...everyone was out of it. But I have gotten a day or 2 of feeling ....ty every time I've had a flu shot. Kevin got his today. we'll see how he does. This year's shot combines the regular and swine flu so maybe the bacon fat slapped me LOL

That bacon fat'll do ya in, Bovinia, careful!

I get ill from the flu shot -- it's like having a mini-flu. Some people are just more sensitive. (Like purple cow and bling bunny types of people):)

My dad's arm swells up almost immediately and he's out for 2-3 days after...doesn't matter which flu shot, which year, 1st or 2nd dose, all the same. It's a ritual, poor guy has to plan his week around being down.

Yup, what Free said, who said wiser was better?

General Dee, Sir!

My top cap isn't too keen on coming off, it's pretty tight on there. Not planning on switching caps, got the connector I love on it now. Question...if I don't Noalox the top threads, can the galvanizing corrosion cause problems with the electrical innards at some point?

I'll work it off somehow if you think it's probably better to give it at least a one-time dose...

Thanks,
PFC Pokey of the Buzz Army

Hey, Buzz Army...operation juicy peach has landed. YESSSSSSSSSS!!! Batteries charging in progress. Not much time right now to brag/rave/be in awe, but I like what I see soo far!!!!

Now there's some GOOD news!!Gratz Free...I bet it sure is purty!!

Pokey I'm feeling a bit better so far today...tho I may still milk it a bit while the hubby is still in the mood to step & fetch hehe!

El Dee, so basically you play all kinds of music. Hubby would be impressed by your Jimmy Page influence since most of what he plays is hard classic (acid) rock. He has a custom Les Paul...doesn't play in a band tho...just gets together with his buds to jam every now and then. I'm just an old worn out hippy and listen mostly to mellower acoustic guitar rock, and some blues.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I also like the fact FS sells the MEGA bottles of juice......Still researching what flavors I will need to mix my own.....but def heading into that....Thanks too all...I read many post around other sites from BUZZ ARMY members....I trust your judgement.. El Dee you sure got a good line up headed your way! I haven't tried FSUSA's juices but I know Ms T won't let ya down :)

I'm real glad to hear your Mom is doing better too...I sure miss mine. She passed 8 years ago and I still have times when I absent mindedly pick up the phone to call her. One thing I can say that a lot of women can't...I have a wonderful Mom-in-law so that helps. She's the reason we moved back to CT from FL. She's gettin on up there in her years and we wanted to be close by to help out and keep her company.

Hey Dee, let me know what you think of the french toast. I want to try it but just can't seem to do it! The Fuzzy Navel is VERY good. Orange and Peach go well together.

Mike thanks for throwing that out... I can now tell my cap is brass due to the patina. Brass and aluminum thread together pretty good without galling where as aluminum on aluminum gall quickly. I knew there was something on the threads,,,just didn't know what...Thanks again!!
Salem...Will do..I've heard raves about FT from FS and Mrs T... Now I got both heading here...so...gonna be swimming in FT.
Bovina hope you are better today. Nice pup there too...I love dogs. Thanks for your thoughts on juice as well...I think this waffle has di-...-atol in it... I was once part of a large family..time sadly waits for no one.. Dad passed 10-15-95,,,it's been 15 years and seems like yesterday...lost my 17 year old nephew last March..he stayed in my shadow as often as possible and I'm glad for that...Mom just can't ever seem to relax..she broke her femur last year and had surgery and a rod placed in it...She healed better and faster than anyone could imagine and now this...She has no weakening of her bones{osteoperosis?} and this accident was brought on by Vertigo. I've been sticking tight around her house and helping where I can. I hate to see things like this happen...makes you feel helpless. Making the move to take care of your Mom-in-Law speaks volumes on your character...You and your husband are salt of the earth people. Take care....Dee

El Dee dis similar metals can corrode in the right environment , how ever we use Alum + Brass to prevent galling or stripping of the threads . In the normal works there is no real need for Naolox but it cant hurt ! ( we put a engine assem lube on the threads for ease of movement.

Iguess it can't hurt but I've been using a Buzz for a very long time now and never had any problems with threads and don't use anything. But an ouce of prevention I guess. If it feels good do it.

I can relate to that. I moved close to my mom about 6 years ago in order to help her as she ages. Then 4 years later our first grandson was born. My son is a single parent and he and my grandson really need us to be closer to them. Now we are so torn about where we really need to be since I do have 2 sisters here living close to my mom. We put our house on the market about 6 months ago and if it sells we will move back to be near our son and grandson. Very hard decision to make though.

Salem...NoLox is a thread lubricant and anti-seize..

Noalox (Ideal brand short for No-Aluminum-Oxide) is anti-oxidant joint compound, which prevents oxidation of aluminum to aluminum and aluminum to copper joints. Therefore it improves the electrical connections of the PV. I have seen this incorrect quote several times. Nolox must be something else...

Noalox® Anti-Oxidant Compound
Features

* Anti-oxidant and anti-seizing compound
* Reduces galling and seizing on aluminum conduit joints
* Suspended zinc particles penetrate and cut aluminum oxide
* Carrier material excludes air to prevent further oxidation
* Improves service life of aluminum electrical applications

The Zinc cuts the oxidation so it would help to a degree , however we use an engine assembly lube on the threads to make everything turn smoothly , I would not worry about it but it wont hurt to use it .
