I actually made a point of not trying any tobacco flavors when I started vaping as I wanted to distance myself from smoking. Since I had just started a new carton of cigarettes when I picked up my starter kit, having the dissonance in flavor really helped. Several months later, I received a tobacco flavor as a sample and tried it... Yuck!

Maybe I am old but don't see the fascination with the big clouds. My son goes for clouds but not HUGE ones and really annoying in the car. The car windows haze up from vaping differently than they did from smoking, probably because of the humectant properties of pg and vg. No real problem cleaning the car windows...used Sprayway. In the house though, I am having a real problem getting the windows clean. Tried Sprayway, Windex with vinegar, vinegar/water. Paper towels, cotton towels, shamwow, microfiber cloths, crumpled newspaper... they look great for a bit but by night they show hazy streaks again.

I agree - IMO - there definitely a difference of age when it comes to "Cloud Chasers" . . . IMO - When I go to a meet, it is usually the "Younger" the vaper (usually "Young Men") the more "clouds" they want . . . They even have "Cloud" competitions to see who can "Blow" the Biggest Cloud of Vapor . . . Which is when it becomes a problem for "Me" since - I Can't Breath and have to use an inhaler . . . Which is very funny, since I never had to use "My" inhaler in a smoked filled room . . .

I sort of wondered that too. I need a good amount of vapor, maybe for psychological reasons, because if I don't have it, I feel like I didn't get a good vape. Sort of like cigarette smoke when I was still smoking. Watching the vapor come out like I used to watch my smoke come out when I had a cigarette makes me feel more satisfied, but when I am around other people who don't vape, it bothers me to see the vapor, because I worry about it bothering them.

Even though I like a decent amount of vapor, I don't feel like I have to obscure the room though, and I have no desire to do it. Maybe it's because I am old!

Totally agree ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ , except for worrying if it should bother someone else . . . Honestly, don't care anymore, because usually they are the "ANTI's" . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Yeah, it does help to have that confirmation. I also still like to have some throat hit, maybe because I can't feel it in my lungs. I still remember how I would feel when I had gone too long without a cigarette. Having that first one after a couple of hours, and holding the smoke in my lungs for a while, and then watching the smoke come out was very satisfying.

I guess that's why I'm not trying to lower my mg's of nicotine. I know how easy it would be for me to go back to smoking if I didn't have my vaping equipment. I'm still very addicted to the nicotine and the act of smoking, and I still get jittery when I haven't vaped for a while.

Power keeps blinking here, I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

YEP - Same here . . .

I think the only time I try for clouds is when I want to annoy wifey, and that's like once a year. I do like to see something come out, but the important thing for me is flavor.

My first e cig was a tobacco flavored on. I have tried others since and they are all nasty. I am really happy to have quickly found ECF and introduced to the fruity flavors. If all they had was tobacco flavors I probably would not vape.

See now that is the exact opposite feeling I have . . . Fruity/Bakery/Food/Beverage "E-Liquids" (especially overly "Sweet") :nah: - Tobacco/Menthol  . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

I never associated a throat hit or feeling in my lungs with smoking. It was always replenishing the nicotine level in my blood stream after not smoking a while or the first cig in the AM and the feeling of relief as my nic levels rose. A small cloud to confirm it's working is more than enough for me.

Lowering the nicotine levels (like when using gum or lozenges) was always my downfall, the lower I was supposed to be using, the more likely I was to start smoking again. Started with 36 mg eliquid and only lowered it to under 30 mg after a couple years. Better vaping gear seems to be allowing me to sustain myself with 15-18 mg presently, using a RTA or RDA.

p.s. hope your power holds out....:)

Not sure about the confirmation thing. I really don't do lung hits at all with vaping but sure did when I smoked. I would say that if I took 5 lung hits a week that would be a lot for me. Perhaps more like 5 lung hits a month. I just roll it around in my mouth and then out my nose. This is a lot of why I go through batteries like crazy... I call it pipe puffing and I take a lot of short puffs but may do this constantly for 10 minutes or more at a time.

I started on a disposable with menthol. Then bought some tobacco flavors and all had that nasty nutty smell and taste so figured all tobacco vapes were like that. I have since tried others and found some tobac vapes I really like. Tidewater, which is very mild lime/lemon, AM4A which is sorta fruity but I like it really weak... like about 6 drops of flavoring to 10 ml of base and usually add a few drops of dark choc to it. There is a blueberry tobac I really like that doesn't have the nutty smell or taste, an applewood that I bought when hubby was looking but at the time thought it nasty...3 + months later...it is really nice and mellow. I have also found several mint tobac flavors I find quite nice. Keep looking for one that really has no sweetness for a friend but seems mint by nature has a sweetness to it so may be menthol and haven't gotten into them much yet... all in good time. Another of the tobac flavors I really like is called Morning Rain. Not really sure of the flavor but find it relaxing and refreshing at 2%. Granted, these aren't the heavy tobac flavors or the ones that generally need a month or more steep time and I generally start at their minimum usage rate and sometimes go lower than that but I am enjoying them more these days than most of the non tobac fruit, dessert or whatever flavors

Most of my Aerotank coils are ones Powerband sent me that my son rebuilt. They seem to run between 1.6 and 2.1 ohms. The new ones just aren't worth the effort of trying to get them opened though.

How did you repurpose your ashtrays?
Most we tossed but a few we did keep.
The really nice solid glass cigar ashtray I got as a father's day present we now use as a spoon rest on the stove. The big round glass ones that belonged to my wife's Auntie we now use under flower pots. We had two extremely heavy and thick ones made of some type of mineral that are now book ends. We had a couple of art deco ones from the 50's that now serve as change and jewelry holders on our dresser.
As a side note I put my lone zippo, can of fluid, and flints in my "it's going south in a hurry" response bag right beside the forty-five.

I agree with you regarding the new "upgraded" ones. My used ones are sitting in my rebuild bin, waiting for me take the time to figure out if they're worth keeping.

Okay - I've got a serious question that I hope I can get a serious answer to . . .

What is the fascination with "Chasing Clouds" and making as much vapor as can be made ? ? ?

Does it really do anything, other than to fill up a room with a blue haze that - IMO - is worse then "smoke" ever was ? ? ?

A few here have already heard but it bears repeating. I'm not a clouder. I vape for the nic and the flavor. I use 80PG/20Vg juice so it's not a cloud blowing mixture. I know what you mean about the young guys and few gals. The local B&M we frequent has been adding mechanicals, wire, wick, and making juice for clouders for a few months. With the addition of those items the owner has been able to lower his juice prices. I inquired and he just smiled and nodder toward the 3 young men looking at itmes in that section. Two out of the three of them dropped around a $100 on juice, wick and wire that day. Since he's selling more equipment and juice, because we all know cloulders go through it like a hot knife through butter he is buying larger quanities of supplies. Bigger order lower prices. Being the smart businessman he is he's been able to lower the juice prices and in turn sell even more juice. I just smile when they blow their clouds as I know they are subsidizing my juice purchases.

Question for everyone....how many of you have joined CASAA ?

We need to be organized to oppose the FDA and various state and local governments that want to crush vaping
and put Cactus Esmokes out of business.
It's free to join (contributions are welcome..:)) and get the latest information on the world of vaping.

That is definitely one of the most important things any person who vapes should do is to join.I joined less than 24 hours after taking my first vape.

1/27 #1 I have a cigalike that is 18mg and tobacco flavored..I puff on it now and then to get my taste of a cig and then go back to my fruity stuff...I prefer the fruity stuff..@ 3mg...

My first cig-a-likes all came with tobacco flavors. Luckily, you could add flavored tobacco flavors, so I did that, but still wished they didn't have that awful tobacco taste.

Once I found the Ego knockoffs, it was goodby tobacco flavors forever.

Like Count, I wanted to distance myself from them, and find something that tasted more like a treat so I would look forward to vaping, and not wish for a cigarette.

I doubt I would ever buy a tobacco flavor, I want my vaping to be like eating dessert!

My husband still smokes, so he uses most of them, but I've got a few little fancy ones that hold paperclips and things on my desk.

I really like the idea of spoon holders on the stove. I've got a ceramic acorn one that would be great for that! (Most likely my husband would be flicking ashes in it every time he is in the kitchen though)!:lol::lol:

1/27 #1 I haven't joined yet, but only because my entire budget has already been blown this month (yes I'm a rookie), but I am cig free for a week!

Joining CASAA is the ONE thing in vaping that is absolutely FREE!!!
Only thing you may have to spend is a little time on the computer...:)
