Stosh,,, I am so happy to have found vaping... I have tried about every "quit smoking " aid there is and nothing worked. Vaping is a "blessing" I just wish I could afford to buy all of the great things that keep coming out. I could not afford to smoke cigs, and have a hard time convincing wifey to let me buy new Vaping equipment. Stuck with my robust and protank mini 2 until they die. I could not afford real cigs and cannot afford this but I know I am better off Vaping. I sure do breath easier and feel better at least.

Has anyone had a problem with an Atlantis leaking?
I have one that's had no problem.
2nd one I just filled yesterday - used it some last night and it sat til this evening. Tank was almost empty and the juice was in the AFC section.
Thinking it may have been caused by leaving the AFC open at the 2nd largest setting. The one that hasn't leaked stays open at the 2nd smallest.
Could the leaking be caused by having the AFC opened too much?

Yeah, I went through patches, gum, lozenges, zyban, cold turkey, group therapy, baying at the moon, myself....nothing worked until vaping.

When I last smoked, cigs were about $7.50 in my area, I tried not to think about the cost, money or health, deluded myself. I've kept the cost down for vaping a few ways.

One way was using a Puck, DIY mod for about a year and a half - two years, cost about $10 each. Ended up making 5 or 6 of them which was still cheaper than many mods on the market.

I started doing DIY because I wasn't happy with the flavor in the eliquid I was buying, fixed the flavor and the cost savings was just a big bonus.

Biggest cost saver for me was NOT chasing the perfect vape. I spent much more time tweaking, modifying, improving and making whatever I did buy perform in it's absolute best possible manner. Always buy version 2 or 3, let others beta test, and read reviews - good and bad, see what problems other are having, figure out if the fixes and modifications are something you can live with. I've owned one Evod, and passed up completely Protanks V1,2 and 3, any Nautilus, any Kayfun, Russian (so far )

I know that the Dark Horse top will fit on the Zenith and Legion (people calling them the Dark Zenith and Dark Legion) been thinking of seeing if it will go on the Magma and make it a Dark Magma...
Heden, you ever try that?
Haven't tried it. The only mix & match I've done is drip tips.
Plume Veil WBDT is on Mega Magma.
Dark Horse WBDT is on Magma
Holmes WBDT is on Veritas
Holmes has my only FFWBDT

The kanger sub tank mini,,, is it rebuildable, so you can make your own coils for it?? Will it work on any PV like would it work on a provari, and build a coil at say 2.5 ohm? Or is it only for sub-ohming

gasp. The "P" word was said in a post. Did everyone bow and pay homage that the "P" word was used?

Yes, the Subtank and the Subtank mini both come with a rebuildable base. The nano doesn't. :)

edit: yeah, you can build the coil at whatever ohms you want. It should work on your "P word thingy". :D

I was the same way. Nothing worked for me, including cigalikes until I found an ego knockoff. Once I found that, it was like a miracle. The better equipment and better juices really worked!

I couldn't afford cigarettes either. I rolled my own, and smoked little cigars, which were about a dollar per pack. I'm so glad I'm past that!!!

Does it take replaceable batteries, or just a proprietary one? I don't think I would buy a regulated mod that doesn't use at least dual 18650's. I got spoiled by the E-Mech, and even though it's a mech mod, by the battery life on the Box Troll.
It says it takes a 18650 but doesn't come with one.
I like Kanger Tanks, but I would never get this. List price $40
Watt choices are too limited 8, 13, 20, 25, 30, 35, & 40

Kanger KBOX MOD – KangerTech

Thanks Heden, I'm not interested either. It sort of feels old school not to be able to adjust your mod in smaller increments. I think Kanger should rethink that mod. With all the great new regulated mods available now, including the less expensive ones like the MVP 3 and the iStick, I think they will have trouble competing.

Just As An FYI:

Although I posted this before in another thread, given the previous discussion concerning the invention of "E-Cigarettes" for those who might be interested - Here is some information for "You":

"The earliest electronic cigarette can be traced to Herbert A. Gilbert, who in 1963 patented a device described as "a smokeless non-tobacco cigarette" that involved "replacing burning tobacco and paper with heated, moist, flavored air". This device heated the nicotine solution and produced steam. It was never commercialized.

Hon Lik, a Chinese pharmacist and inventor, who worked as a research pharmacist for a company producing ginseng products, is credited with the invention of the electronic cigarette.[17][94] Hon had himself quit smoking, after his father, also a heavy smoker, had died of lung cancer. In 2003,[95] he came up with the idea of using a piezoelectric ultrasound-emitting element to vaporise a pressurized jet of liquid containing nicotine diluted in a propylene glycol solution.[96] This design produces a smoke-like vapour that can be inhaled and provides a vehicle for nicotine delivery into the bloodstream via the lungs. He also proposed using propylene glycol to dilute nicotine and placing it in a disposable plastic cartridge which serves as a liquid reservoir and mouthpiece.

Hon patented the modern e-cigarette design in 2003. Electronic cigarettes using a different design were first introduced to the Chinese domestic market in May 2004 as an aid for smoking cessation and replacement. Many versions made their way to the U.S., sold mostly over the Internet by small marketing firms.[17] The company that Hon Lik worked for, Golden Dragon Holdings, changed its name to Ruyan (如烟, literally "Resembling smoking"), and started exporting its products in 2005–2006[17] before receiving its first international patent in 2007." (Electronic cigarette - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Also - Here is a diagram for the "Smokeless Non-Tobacco Cigarette" by Herbert A. Gilbert:

BTW: A lot more very interesting information and discourse about who originally invented the "First" E-Cigarette is available out there on the Internet with a quick Google search . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

Thats the great thing about vaping,it doesn't have to be expensive.I know alot of people want all the cool new stuff that comes out,but the reality is those are wants,if you have a setup that works then your good to go.A few ways you can cut costs even more, those protank coil heads can be rebuilt,if you dont already do that, and there are alot of good quality very cheap juice vendors online,or i know your over in the diy threads too, that's a great way to go,as i'm sure you've found out already.I'm in the same boat as you pretty much, when i smoked,no way i could afford what they were charging for a pack of cigarettes every day,so i rolled my own to cut costs way down.Because of that, diy was an obviuos choice for me.I have been buying some premade juice here lately, but i dont go for the big name ones, the main place i have bought from sells 120ml bottles for around $20,so i dont feel too bad when buying those haha.As far as wanting new equipment,if you even save a few dollars a week back, you could pick up a new tank at the end of the month, etc. until you have the setup you want, again that's how i started with my stuff, very slowly getting different equipment.

2-1-1

When I bought my first disposable Blu ecigs... was just because it was a gadget and we like gadgets here. Never intended to stop smoking but in less than 2 weeks, couldn't stand the taste or smell of a real cigarette. I had actually accepted the fact that I would probably die from breathing difficulties associated to smoking and with a cigarette in my hand. I had given up trying to quit and ended up quitting by accident.

I am not sure there is a perfect vape for me. For me, the E Mech is near perfection though. Some mornings I get up and my hands are stiff and sore, then holding it is a chore but I will grab my iStick until I can get them moving again. Tanks... there are all sorts of tanks here and I am glad that most aren't mine. Most are from when son was on the quest for the perfect tank and then figured out that for him the perfect tank was a dripper. I take such sort and light puffs that Kayfuns tend to not hold their prime and leak badly, I did buy one of the new Kayfun v4 clones. So far, so good with it. I have been getting a dry hit every so often and not sure whether that is the way I vape or the amount of cotton in there. I have an RSST with mesh going right now. only getting about 1/4 the flavor that I did in the Veritas dripper from this same juice... in this case, that isn't a bad thing :D My favorite tank so far is the Lemo with the Fogger 4 and 5 real close behind in the rebuildables. I still use the Aerotanks as much as I use the others.

Juices, I have won several. While most had some really good qualities and I could see others really enjoying them, I always felt if this or that was changed somehow that I would like it better. Only juice that I never felt this was about was Killer Juice Shamrock Shake but one and only one juice isn't my way. I enjoy all aspects of DIY except bottle washing.

I guess we go more for function than fashion here. Even in drip tips :D

My latest vape challenge is getting my windows clean. Seems no matter what, they look clean for a bit... less than 24 hrs and then all the wipe marks show again. These are floor to ceiling windows. Have tried Sprayway, Vinegar and water, Vinegar alone, Iso. Alcohol, real Windex. Think a squeegee is the next attempt. Not sure what is happening because the car windows were a mess, Sprayway handled them just fine. Thinking it is the humectant properties of the pg/vg pulling moisture from the air and sticking it to the windows in the spots that aren't absolutely perfect.

2/1 Last night I fixed myself a drink, carried it to my desk and sat down....reaching over to where my cigs "used to sit".... When I looked to pick them up and they weren't there I had to remind myself I quit, and picked up my vape. I'm only 10 days in, and still have "reminders... Vape works!

I have heard only great things about them. yes they are great for PV's any really. you have the option of building your own coils or using the factory ones that come in .5 or 1.2 ohm. I believe you can build them in the range of .2 or .3 all the way up to I think about 3 ohms. I would have to check to be sure but indeed they are extremely versatile units

For me pesonally DIY has been the best money saver instead of paying anywhere from $3.00 to $8.00 for a (10ml) bottle of juice it costs around 12 to 20 cents per 10ml and just a little bit more if you use a new bottle but still way under a buck a bottle
