I keep hearing about the fear mongering, that "we don't know the long term effects". Well i know 2+ years of vaping isn't that long term but are you still here alive and well? :) I do not fear to much about the long term effects because i feel they can't be worse than what analogs do to you. However some people do. So calling all long term vapers again are you alive and well? :D

I've been vaping for just over 2 years and I'm alive and well. :2cool:
I think one difficulty in measuring long term effects is due to people vaping different amounts of e-juice and using a wide variety of flavors. But I don't think its impossible to measure. This is worth looking at - it was just posted on the forum today:

I used to chain vape for quite a while but still felt hugely better than when I smoked cigs. I vape less often now and feel very good health wise.

Thanx to vaping, I just passed my third year 'bakky free. Smoking history in sig line...

As for my e-cig health benefits:

- Lower blood pressure - 15 pt drop in both systolic & diastolic BP
- Higher O2 absorption - 92% to 99%
- 'Clean' chest x-ray after a past indication of emphysema
- Healthier gums/whiter teeth - as per dentist
- No more nose soot/lung wads in the AM
- No longer having the occasional mild night time anxiety episode due to breathing difficulties
- No mo’ colds. Used to get 'em at least once a year that hung on with major coughing and chest congestion. Last year I had a runny nose for three days... no cold. Prior to vaping, that would have developed into a major chest racking cold.
- Higher sensitivity to the salt in processed foods. And to think I would add salt in my 'bakky days.
- Higher IQ - hey, I did quit smoking!

I have no intentions of giving up vaping. Since I'm 67, I'll continue to vape some nic as long as I can.

Hope this all helps ya!

I quit smoking three-plus years ago, and I'm still alive and kicking:

1. BP down 10 points each, systolic and diastolic. Pulse rate down from 82 bpm to 72 bpm.
2. Haven't had a cold ("quitter's flu" doesn't count) in three years. Before then, several colds per year, and maybe one in five would turn into bronchitis.
3. Easily lost 40 pounds when doctor told me to, and I've had no problem keeping off the weight.

Been vaping for 4 years. At one time was vaping, smoking a pack a day, and an occasional chew. Once I quit 2 out of the 3 I was amazed at how good I felt just a few days into it. I smell things now I couldn't smell and can tell when people at work have been out for a smoke and just got off the elevator. No more coughing, hacking, stinky clothes and car, and the best part is my attitude and demeanor is much nicer which is the biggest plus from my wife's pont of view ;). Almost forgot now I can walk up 3 flights of stairs and up hills outside without having to stop part way to catch my breath. Life is much better!!

I just posted in another thread like this last night. But I'll post here too:

I've been vaping for 4 1/2 years and have no negative health effects to report. I smoked for over 20 years and was fortunate to have discovered vaping before any significant health problems emerged from my years of smoking. But it had begun taking a toll on me and I knew it. I'd get every cold virus that came around and it would go straight to my chest. Now, I get a cold about once a year and I don't end up with some awful lingering cough anymore. I don't have to clear my throat all the time (hardly ever!). I don't have a smoker's cough (that vanished within days of switching to vaping). And my lung capacity… wow. I didn't even know how reduced it had been until I could suddenly take in all this air! I can run now—not far because running isn't my thing, but I can run. Brisk walks (that is my thing) no longer make me winded. My legs get tired long before my lungs do ;)

In short, I've experienced all the benefits of quitting smoking and no negatives. That tells me that vaping is way better than smoking and may even be benign. I guess we won't really know for about 10 years if it has any long term consequences. So far so good, though!

Well, we do not know. It is just impossible to know. Good bad or inconsequential, it doesn't matter.

We have an equal chance of 30 years of vaping killing someone as to 30 years of vaping curing a condition.

What I like is we have a choice. I would rather kill my self slowly over 500 years than slowly over 110 years.

When I started smoking the first 10 years I never had any adverse effects. I still was active in sports and exercise. Does that mean smoking is good? No of course not.

Sure but for most of us we have felt the hazards of smoking and with vaping i feel that if it was going to be worse it wouldn't be making our breathing , blood pressure etc better. Here's to hoping that vaping is health friendly :)

I hear you on that one. Cheese has way to much salt in it. I can't eat it anymore and i like salty foods.
