It's a her and if you try to steal her, my face will be the last thing you see...

Just kidding...sort of...you never mess with a man's dog. Even if it's a little runty mutt

Sorry.. She is just so adorable. I lost my baby Peanut ( shih-tzu I had since be was two months) three years ago and my heart has not healed yet. Everyone says to get another one but.. I almost feel guilty .. You can't just go get another child. I'm sad now.

It's like that until you finally get another one, you love it just as much.

If I ever split with my gf, I have to keep the dog. She's a chick magnet.
I wasn't' that lucky with my pup. She hated everyone and everything but me. She loved her daddy. Lost her in 01 when she was 13 years old.
And that's her 16# bowling ball she is playing with.

Seriously?!?! Both too cute!

Thought you would like that one.

Sorry about your Shih Tzu. My heart breaks every time one of my buddies dies. Fury is right though, getting a new buddy is the best cure, you don't forget the ones that have gone on, but they fill you with new love.

Aww she was beautiful. :) 13 years is a long life for larger breeds .. I'm sure it was 13 years of massive mutual love and adoration. I only got to have my Peanut for 7 years. Thought he would be with me for 20.

Funny thing is the large breed was about 80-90 lbs. Broke down two doors and one window. Daddy wanted her to learn to stay outside and she didn't agree. She wanted in with Daddy. I was gone and someone knocked on the door and the front door got torn off. But she was my snuggle buddy. Always had the bed warm in the winter. And loved to lay with her back against me. I got a Beautiful painted portrate of her that a buddy did. Sure miss that little S&%t. Had so much fun with her. Especially when the Pizza delivery guy showed up and at Holloween time.

Do you have one now and if not would you go through it again? Maybe it's cause I don't have kids but my Peanut was in ICU for a week and he went through 4 blood transfusions before his little heart gave out... I almost didn't make it either..I know I have the love to give again but the loss was so devestating .. Don't know if I can go through that again.

I truley wish I did. But the cold hard truth is after caring for my own father for 15+ years now I am obliged to help give care to my sweeties 73 year old mother who has suffered a stroke. I'm afraid I just don't have the time or energy to take on another German Shepard. They can be a hand full at times. A dog that big has to be shown who is the Alpha male of the pack. Lots of time and energy to teach them right from wrong. Just like a child. Well I'm dealing with a 73 year old who has the mind of a 3 year old. Wouldn't be fair to the pup.

SuzyQ hun losing your pet(child) is devastating to say the least. You feel like a part of you is now missing. I think many pet owners have gone through this. Now I'm not a dog person I'm a cat person but be it cat or dog they are our family. When I lost my first, BooBoo I cried for weeks. I was so heart broken I thought for sure I could never feel that kind of affection and bond with another again. My family and friends kept telling me to get another pet. I had no erg what so ever because I felt I was betraying that bond we shared. People swore my cat was me just in cat form lol. Anyway life went on I didn't get another pet then I started to date this girl I was head over heals for. She knew my BooBoo story and that Xmas she went and got me not 1 but 2 Tuxedo cats just like my BooBoo was. At first I was upset because I didn't want another pet but the moment I saw them it was all over. I named them Domino and Dominique. It was the best remedy for that part of me that I felt missing. Now they would never be my BooBoo but needless to say they stole my heart in their own way. When they passed that feeling was back but instead of that feeling of betrayal after they went I did what I thought was a reasonable morning period. Now about 6 months later my partner comes walking in the door with 2 kittens. And as before they stole my heart George and Grace. As others have said getting another dog will def help but do it in your time. Just don't wait to long because there is a dog out there that needs your love the way you need theirs.

And yes I said girlfriend lol but thats another story all together.
