Can nicrome be used in temp mode?

I have been vaping for years and always thought that nicrome was meant for wattage mode.

But after getting a kbox 120w and switching over to NiCR mode (Nicrome mode), I have noticed that it is in Fahrenheit?!?

Yes and no, this is the first time hearing of a dedicated mode for it. Thanks for that info.

From what I gather, Nichrome depending on grade is mainly nickel and "can be" used in temp mode with certain awareness of settings, not sure if you have to set the mod lower than usual in temp or higher.

Confirms what we've heard about the kbox that it's not a typo.

I don't know what the tcr of nichrome is but since it contains alot of nickel it's not surprising that it is workable in temperature control.

Kanthal on the other hand was apparently specifically developed as a resistance wire with resistance that does not fluctuate alot with temperature.

Seeing as the mod apparently has a mode designed for it, I don't see the harm in "using a product as intended"

Well, it wouldn't. Though on some mods - it will fire, but not Temp regulate.

Perhaps Kanger has written specific algorythms for <Their> ni-chrome coil heads.
Can you use the build deck to do your own - I'd email Kanger and ask.

* there may be specific limitations - Resistance for one.

I've used nickel wire twisted with Kanthal and that worked on a DNA40, but I had to compensate for the temperature error. I would do a dry cotton burn test to check for accuracy in your situation.
