Can someone recommend a good 18650 and charger?

Don't forget to add a little noalox to the contacts to keep clean longer

Is Noalox that grayish greasy substance? I think Rob gave me a small bag of it with the REO purchase, but I just ignored it since I had no idea what it is for. I applied some to the flexible spring tip and it improved the contact. I wonder how often you have to apply it? does it dry off or wear away?

Yes it is that grey paste/grease in the baggie. How often will depend on if you have new contacts or old and what ohm coils you run. But it's a good a idea to apply it whenever you clean the mod. Apply to both battery contacts. I vape around .8 to 1.1 and with the old contacts I was cleaning and applying noalox every two weeks. With the next contacts it will probably be every month or more.

The site is dampfakkus.de. Click "Akkutests" in the upper left corner, "battery overview" from the menu that opens. You can then choose to sort the tests according to battery size, brand, and some other options. Not all batteries that are listed have been tested, but for many of them there are tests at 2, 3, and 5 amps (with some additional graphs for a number of the more popular batteries).

Enjoy :)

Thanks, I haven't seen this site before! Some things I learned from comparing our popular high drain IMR batteries from that site:

* Efest Purple 35A , and the Keeppower IMR 2500 are really rebranded LG ICR18650HE2 cell.
* Efest 35A rating is the max pulse burst rate and it really has a 20A max continuous discharge rate.
* KeepPower has the best battery life @ 5A vs. Efest, VTC4, VTC5, Samsung 20R, AW IMR 2000.
* According to a 20A discharge (on 10sec off 30sec) chart the Efest has the higher starting voltage, but the VTC5 has a higher voltage under load and lasts longer. This tells me that the VTC5 has a lower internal resistance (13.5mOhm according to the spec sheet).

Conclusion:

The Efest Purple , Keep Power 2500, and the Sony VTC5 are all fantastic batteries. I would recommend the Efest/KeepPower for .8ohm coils and above, because it has *slightly* better specs over the VTC5. For .8ohm and below coils I would recommend the VTC5 for its extreemly low internal resistance (means more power to your coil) which only becomes a consideration when vaping very low resistances.

This is based purely off of the charts and tech sheets, I would love to hear a real world comparison if there is someone out there that has both the Efest Purple and VTC5. I have a few VTC5's on order, which I can do a real world comparison between the VTC5, a AW IMR 1600, and a Samsung 20R.

Okay....Stupid Question time. When you say you are changing your batteries after 3.5 or 3.7 volts, how do you know when you are there? Do you pull your batteries out every so often and check them with a multimeter?

I have a routine where I put a fresh batt in at 8am then swap that out at 6 or 7 when it feels like its a little week. I measure some times when I put it back in the charger and it's always around 3.8v.

I used to do that, but eventually got to the point where I could tell based on the hits I was taking that the battery needed changing, and 9 times out of 10 it's usually around 3.6-3.7 VDC. Until you get to that point though, a multimeter or charger that gives you a reading when you put the battery in will work wonders. :)

Been at this for a while, After 3ml my batts get changed out and if I meter them they come in around 3.7. After installing new SO kit I get about 4to5ml before I switch out. Hope this helps.

I've been using VTC4's and the red Efest 30A's, running a 1.04 ohm MM coil on my RM2... I burn thru about 3 batteries in a day LOL (when I say burn thru, I mean my vape quality has dropped enough to make me want to change batteries, fresh one first thing in the morning at 0600, another at/around 1200, and one more at about 1800. So, about 6hrs max for me, non chain vaping).

Might just buy some VTC5's next time I see a good deal come up, that, and a good 4 bay charger.

I'm curious. Right now I'm using almost new VTC4s at .65 ohms on a Nemesis and I've been amazed at how long the battery lasts me. I thought I'd need to be carrying a spare but so far, never got close. Now I'm probably pretty much of a lightweight considering as a smoker I was burning through 2-3 PAD. However after over 4 years since my last drag and using 4-5 portions of snus a day, I only vape a hit here and there. None of that ever 20 minute itch to light on up

As an example, I put in a fresh battery yesterday morning vaped on and off most of the day since I was drinking and playing pool and on here last night (meaning I was still taking puffs). This morning, it felt like time to change the battery and, sure enough, I was at 3.9 volts, my normal time to change batteries level.

I suppose I'm doing a couple ml a day with the mech mod since it drinks a bit more than my Vamo or Provari. Do you have any idea on how much you're vaping on battery changes?
