Dano: YOU NEED TO TRY UNFLAVORED. Not yelling, just emphasizing. Actually, I am yelling. It is as close to a smoke as you will get, as in, it doesn't taste perfumy. I'm guessing that the flavors aren't cutting it for you. They didn't for me either. Ry this and Carmel apple that, hell no I want something that reminds me of the Marlboro lights I lived on for 30 years! This will likely become your all day vape. Get it in like 24 mg, 30% PG / 70% VG.

question?

does the unflavored leave a bad taste in your mouth?

i'm not craving the smoking taste, i'm 2 days on bobas bounty and liking it very much still, we'll see how tomorrow goes.

i'm gonna be in a boat here soon that says 'use up the juice you have' before i become one of 'those juice guys'

i really would like a second reo to play around with juices and keep one loaded for an 'all day'

Dano, the allusive quest for the "all day vape".....ahhhh. There are those who seem to be perfectly happy with only one flavor day in and day out. I have one favorite juice....but I still get tired of it every week or so and will vape another flavor that I like almost as much for a day or two. Then I'm ready for my old faithful again for awhile. I usually keep at least two REOs going at all times...but sometimes they both have the same juice in them. LOL I'm not sure an "all day vape" is absolutely possible for me, personally, because I do have two or three "favorite" juices....and I get to missing one if I haven't had it for awhile. I think the quest is more realistic if you try to find two or three juices that you like. That way your taste buds don't get bored. There are times when I'll be vaping something (one of my 3-4 favorites) and I can't even discern which it is. Sounds crazy, I know.

After awhile, and after finding a few flavors you like, believe it or not....things settle in and you really don't obsess over the flavor quite as much. If I have something in my 6ml bottle that I don't just love....usually I'll just vape it away, then get something I like more next. It may not be that way for everyone....but that's the way it is for me. I've really settled in to this for the long haul, and as long as I have lots of vapor, I'm pretty happy.

Jan's right. I've fooled myself more than once into thinking I found my all day vape. But sadly, eventually I tired of that flavor and after a fair search found another so called all day vape. I still don't truly have an all day vape....but I've got a handful of flavors that I like a lot. I tend to vape one fairly heavily and keep another on standby. After a few weeks, I change it up. Honestly, I've stopped searching for the all day vape. I'm just happy I've got a few flavors I enjoy and can switch it up whenever I need to.

Dano, I always have multiple REO's going. I make my juice and don't label them. I add to bottles that are almost empty. So I know starting out all flavors that I like and use are good together. I get some fantastic, variations! Some are so great that I can't stop vaping! Flavor will vary from bottle to bottle and I love that.

Would I be happy with just one juice? I don't think so. I really love not quite knowing what flavor I will get in a REO!

question?

does the unflavored leave a bad taste in your mouth?...

Dano (wall of text coming up)...

No bad taste, no smell in the air - nothing. Most (if not all?) juices start out as unflavored (by unflavored, I mean nicotine in base of varying ratios of pg/vg, or in some cases, 100% of one or the other). Then, someone adds a couple of drops of flavor, or several different flavors and walla, they sell it for 5 or more times what it costs to make. There are even those who sell the unflavored for 4 or 5 times what it costs to buy it from a place like Wizard Labs.

500 (yes 500) ml is something like $25 at Wizard Labs. That is enough juice to last you over 6 months!

Unflavored produces a great throat hit, copious vapor and doesnt gunk up your carto/atty whatever. The taste is hard to explain: think bland, without ANY perfumy taste, no sweet taste, just a smoke like taste (or is it a feeling?) from the vaporizede nicotine and the suspension liquids (PG/VG). You are tasting it now, except that it is buried balls deep in several layers of "flavors".

The other biggest hassel of buying flavored juice is this "steeping"???? and inconsistency / different flavors (of the same ordered flavored juice) from batch to batch? I mean come on, as much as people are paying the juice barista for that stuff, you think they could get the ratios exactly the same right and have it ready to vape (not need to be steeped) when you order it?.

I havent been vaping very long, but it took me about 3 weeks to learn that if it smelled like potpouri when I opened the bottle, it was gonna taste like potpouri when it was vaporized. I put one "tobacco" flavored juice that i ordered from volcano (in the beginning of my vaping career) down in the basement with the top off about 4 months ago - it still smells like unburned tobacco leaves mixed with perfumed potpouri.

Since then, i am glad to have found (or been steered to by wonderful ECF members) unflavored. It is my all day, every day vape. It is consistently the same vape every puff, no need to steep, no need to add anything, you can buy bulk and freeze it for long term storage and it very low cost - not that it would matter, i would still vape it even if it cost as much as any other premium price juice.

Good luck in your search my man.

The hardest part isnot having a bic lighter in my pocket at all times. I threw em all away. Now I'm no longer the go to guy at kids birthday parties for lighting candles. I also now have to use a bottle opener for coronas, I'm not about to snap a cap off with my REO like I used to do with my bic.

Totally know what you mean I've had to go to the store on more than one occasion to buy a lighter to light birthday candles and I now use my trusty pocket Knife to open beers

As for an all day vape I have 5 Reos in rotation 3 that I use during the day and my 2 VV's that I use at home all of which have a specific juice in them and I never change it
So when I find a juice is really like it time to buy another REO :D

My wife and I started out with "tobacco" flavors (Greensmoke cigarette "lookalikes"...blech!) After a while we both gravitated to the "fruitlike" flavors, Apple Pie, Honeysuckle, etc.

We both found ourselves, though, gravitating toward the "lighter" flavors, and I recently bought some "unflavored" in 24 mg. 24mg is a bit on the strong side, so I'm cutting it to 20mg (just add the appropriate amount of VG).

As Super_X noted above, the unflavored does seem to be easier on Attys (the darker juices seem to gum them up faster).

And thinking back to smoking, it was never the "taste" I was after, it was the nicotine and other additives. Over the 50 years I smoked, I changed brands several times. And inevitably, I'd get used to whatever brand I was smoking, other brands then having a "funny" taste to them. But each time, I adjusted.

So, in a nutshell, I find the unflavored works every bit as well as any flavor, and as also noted, is WAY less expensive.

I have 2 grands (and 2 minis as backups LOL), but I use only 1 (grand) at a time. I generally vape on one for a few weeks until the atty begins to deteriorate, and vapor production begins to drop off (even with fresh batteries). Then I switch to my other grand, pop on a new atty, and I'm good for a couple more weeks. As a side note, the wife is at the same place, and prefers the unflavored as well, so that's 2 more votes for "unflavored".

Of course, virtually ALL reonauts will encourage you to have at least a 2nd REO as backup if you can manage it (and extra springs and batteries and charger). You've come so far with this already, if, for example, someone stole your REO, it would be really hard to wait even the short time it takes Rob to send you a new one.

here are some more newb questions

now that i understand a few things about vaping

1. with the VVGrand how often do you adjust the settings and what is the biggest difference between the grand and vv
does the vape improve? do i adjust it for different flavors? Or is just for consistantcy of vapes?
2. What can i expect for battery life in the vvgrand? i go through less than 3 ml. a day.

3. what are the side effects people get from PG?

1. With my VV Grand, I use a rebuildable atomizer. I adjust the voltage up a bit when the flavor and vapor drop off due to gunk building up on the coil. I've also been known to adjust the voltage down when I have a sore throat. Different flavors like a little more or less voltage to taste best. I definitely prefer my VV Grand over my Grand.

2. Battery life will depend on your voltage setting. The higher you set the voltage, the faster you will drain your batteries. Most users have reported being able to vape 4 or 5mL before the batteries would no longer fire their atty/carto. Personally, I swap for fresh batteries every 3mL. It keeps me from discharging my batteries below 3.5 volts and it's pretty easy to track with the 6mL bottle.

3. Copy/Pasta:
THE SIGNS OF AN ALLERGY TO PROPYLENE GLYCOL
If symptoms persist however, it may be that you are allergic to propylene glycol. Some people don't even realise they have an allergy to PG until they use an electronic cigarette with PG-based e liquid for the first time. Allergy symptoms may include night sweats, body rash, diarrhoea and a dry, irritated or sore throat.
