Jack can contact Canada Post (actually, as shipper I believe it is him that must initiate the search), and get it tracked. .

CP won't launch an investigation until 48 hours after the delivery date, and they won't get back to you for another 5 or more working days, but just to call and say they are looking into it. The only purpose to that route is to get a refund/make a claim unfortunately (which will take another 4 weeks to receive).

The catch as the retailer is, if you ship again the original order and show Monday. Then the second order is already on its way. Being a good customer they do return the double order, unfortunately 3X postage often ends up costing more than the order itself. It's really a catch 22.

Great to see another vendor going above and beyond. Your lucky to have one close enough to you who is will to do this. We really do have some stand up vendors in Canada.

Well, I did have to drive an hour each way in a blizzard to meet with her, but I figure it was worth it! The gas I spent would have equaled a couple packs of cigarettes.

I live in a village. Yes, that's right... village. The population here is a whopping 500 people. (I think they're lying about that. I think it's more like 50.) Our community mailboxes are actually IN the post office... which is all the way across town (read: two blocks) from my house. Postal carriers NEVER come to our houses. We don't even have mailboxes. We have to go to the post office to pick up our mail. Normally, I would grab the little notice card from my P.O. Box, walk across the room to the counter and hand it to the postmistress. The packages are all behind her on a shelf. There's really no way for them to screw this up, and we've received many packages here before.

What I especially don't get is this:

2011/01/28 08:09 STANDARD Attempted delivery. Notice card left indicating where item can be picked up.
2011/01/25 21:47 MISSISSAUGA Item processed at postal facility
16:48 RICHMOND HILL Item accepted at the Post Office
13:42 RICHMOND HILL Order information received by Canada Post

Really? It flew right into Standard and bypassed Calgary completely?

I'm just saying the reason they had to "attempt delivery" is because Jack requires a signature. Next time ask him in the comment area not to require that because you have community mailbox and it will just appear in your mailbox. The reason they had to "attempt delivery" is because they required a signature. It doesn't really matter if you live in a village or city...if a signature is required they need to go to the address....same as my community box. And just so you know, I don't have delivery to my door...I go down the block to my community mailbox just like most new communities in my area. It has nothing to do with village or city.

Yeah, it does actually. If something here requires a signature, I do that at the post office. The system we have here functions more like P.O. Boxes than a typical community mailbox you would find in most newer subdevelopments. We don't even have your typical CP delivery truck. Everything is sent here on a semi and taken directly to the post office.

I even checked, just in case, for a notice card on my door. I was home at 8am, albeit sleeping... my dogs would have DEFINITELY woke me if some errant mailman was at the door.

My drivers license actually states my address as a P.O. Box, rather than my street address. ;)

Ugh you poor thing! I feel for you!! I too live in a small town in Saskatchewan, 400 people in my lil ol village, but so far my packages have always been on time and have not gotten lost. I would have done the exact same thing as you, bought some analogs. I know its a pissy situation, but you will get your stuff and be back on to vape in no time. Think of this as a fork in the road, a detour, obstacles, life in general. I am just so sorry that this has happened to you. Keep your chin up!

the $30 option Canada post offers is a rip off for sure, never seen it make a difference.

You don't want to know how much longer the cheaper option takes LOL

From the tracking number it was just a regular Xpresspost shipping. The killer on price is 1) it was a large package with 2 kits and 2) remote location. One less kit and to Edmonton would be about $14.00, for the same service a day quicker (or maybe I should say a day less late) :)

I haven't read this whole thread so forgive me if this has been said or is irrelevant.

I always check canada post website, it will say delivery card dropped off on say a monday. Well i'll come home and there won't be a card.. On the next day the card will be in my box. This happens with every delivery i get. I asked my postal carrier wtf is that all about and he said they don't drop the card off until the next day so they don't have to make 2 trips..

I agree Canada Post is garbage.. and they don't even care because we have pretty much no choice but to use them.

Not sure where you're getting your information here, but...

1) It was just one kit and a couple small items - bottles, syringes, driptip.

2) According to Canada Post, I do NOT live in a "remote area". I live in a "non-major urban centre". (It's actually quicker to drive to Standard from the Calgary Airport than to many parts of Calgary.)

I have read CP's Delivery Standards. According to that document, I should have gotten my parcel yesterday. (2 days to get to Calgary, one day to get to Standard.)

As stated previously, I receive a number of items via mail. I have NEVER had an item shipped via Xpresspost show up later than the Expected Delivery Date. Often, I get them a day early. (Like I said, I'm only 45 mins from the Calgary Airport... you can't even drive across town in that time.)

The other issue I mentioned (in this post: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/canada-forum/156733-canada-post-bunk-2.html#post2563197) I have with their tracking is that it shows the item was left at the Post Office here in Standard. It does NOT show that the item landed in Calgary for processing.

Not sure where they would have to make TWO trips?? They are supposed to (if you live in an area where mail is delivered to your door or community mailbox) knock on your door to deliver package. If no reply, leave card in mailbox. Takes an extra 5 minutes.

Sounds like you should do as Nuck did, and complain.

I think part of the problem is that we, as Canadians, allow their service to be sub-standard.

Hey just my guess.. Was responding to the question of why it would cost $30 + to ship.

I know a 27X24X6 (size to fit a big ego box and some stuff) to Calgary is about $14-15 2 days Xpress, so those 2 points were my assumption for the greater cost.

But either way, here is the prices from Toronto to Standard with all the options...
