What I do is at home I leave the ecigs in another room where I used to smoke. That way I have to get off my .... and go vape. if they were next to my computer I would suck on them all the time like I do at work. I try to keep control over it. I did not want to replace cigarettes with a more intense more often habit and I have not.

I have some 36 yes but the day I used it my throat really hurt the next day. Is there a vape meeting in ABQ? I am in Rio Rancho.

Unfortunately I am not actually from abq... I'm a hugeeee fan of the show "breaking bad", that's why I list abq... And my handle is the nicname of one of the characters on the show.... I am actually in st Louis...

Check here on ecf in the social groups area to see where vapors meet up in new Mexico.... I recently went to one of the get togethers here and learned so much, as well as getting to try lots of different gear and liquids.. heck i learned a lot just watching others vape...

Ah I understand, have not really started that show yet. Netflix is my friend though. Any ABQ vapors out there?

This is the way I look at it....

If I dont quit, then I'll die slow, annoyed, and broke (1000's of dollars that went to chemo).

I've been vaping pretty hardcore since I quit. But it helps. Use mine like cigs. I dont know about you, but I had like a cigarette schedule....so I just whip out my e-cig anytime I would normally be smoking a cigarette.

I feel better being able to breath and not hack up a lung every morning.

You've got to treat it like a life or death situation.

Just wanted to add my wishes for your success soon. About the leaving it in another room - I did that to try to cut down on cigs long before I got my PV. Then I left the cigs there for a couple weeks and it was so much more comfortable to vape where I was than go for that cig. I can even vape in bed now woo hoo, haven't smoked in bed for years! Soon the cigs were gone and I just didn't buy any more (tasted yucky by then anyway). I guess the point is make it easy to vape, and uncomfortable to smoke.

I'm a rebel. I don't conform to the prevailing social fixations and never have done, lol. And that made quitting ciggies more difficult because I can't STAND the self-righteous, smoking Nazi prigs who feel that their purpose in life is to make every smoker they encounter feel uncomfortable or despised. There was something in my head that constantly whispered, "if you quit, these people WIN!" because I honestly didn't smoke much and had no health effects from it.

As an aside -- have you ever noticed that smokers tend to be more friendly and nicer people, as a rule? LOL, I've worked places where non-smokers would hang out with the smokers on breaks, even if it meant standing outside in the elements, beause the smokers were just the nicer, more fun folks. But I digress ...

So, while a part of me did want to quit smoking analogs, a larger part of me did NOT want any of the anti-smoking campaigners feeling they won or gloating about it. But what I found is BRILLIANT about Ecigs is that the hardcore smoking Nazis seem to hate Ecigs, too!!! They will INSIST that they smell burning tobacco coming from them. And when they do that, you get to blow water vapor at them, say "nope, just vapor" and add that they just THINK they're smelling smoke because their brains are fixated on it. Hahahahahaha, I LOVE THIS!

Beyond that, you begin to discover that a whole lot of other non-smokers also hate the smoking Nazis and they will come to your defense! I've been at gatherings when a smoking Nazi has come after me and my e-cig and a whole bunch of other people have come to my defense and thought the ecig was really cool/wanted more info. There is nothing more satisfying than watching a tyrant be stripped of his or her power and bluster.

So, if you need something else to empower you with the ecig, just consider all of the smoking Nazis you're disappointing and alienating and all of the smokers who have endured years of abuse from these people finally having something that works and gives them courage and hope! Do it for the downtrodden, dude! :)

Exactly! Hacked but once since I started the transition back in April, instead of several times a day. Went from 50+ cigs a day to two, if I remember to smoke them, over the course of about two weeks in a *painless* transition. When I *want* a cig, I whip out one of my devices and puff away for a little while and it's working fine. The chinese Dekang juice seems to have been the key there. I'm probably getting more nic now, but I'm much happier and I feel a lot better (and am not spending $350+/mo for cigs/taxes).

the only thing i know to tell you is by a good juice something that taste good like strawberry for example, or your favirote fruit, and dont buy a pack of cigerats. when you get a juice you really really like you wont be able to put it down, then if you do try to smoke a cig it will taste like complete and utter crap lol. id also go for some reguler metel ce2s to me there the best and easiest and your juice always has a nice clean flavor. and you dont have to worry about craking tubs. also if your using a pen style it might not be right for you, try an ego. or a box mod. i hope this helped :vapor:

I am in your boat. Been vaping since Feb. of this year and still smoking analogs too, alot less of them though. I put a post up similar to yours also, asking for help or suggestions. I got more comments on how i wasn't trying hard enough, quit buying the ciggies types of reprimands and very few supported me which made me feel more alone and guilty, still fill that way 6 months now. I have gone through tons of juices, haven't found anything i really love, bought and changed pv's 3 times, no real satisfaction, upped the nic level, etc.... So for me maybe it isn't the nic maybe its the maoi's i can't kick. I do like vaping most the time when it isn't a pain in the .... due to leaking, batteries, etc... I also believe there are more vapers like us that still smoke or did for the longest that are not willing to admit it. I will keep on with how i am doing it vaping/smoking and hope i quit ciggies sooner or later. Good thing is i am too stubborn to quit trying to quit plus i have invested too much money in vaping to give up. Good luck.

Relax Rio!! You WILL quit smoking. Know how I know? You said this: "Honestly, I like vaping more than smoking"!! LOL Of course you do - we all do. I said the same thing. You also said this: "All I know for sure is that I want to stop smoking analogs" You will. I said the same thing. STOP kicking yourself in the .... for smoking a few cigs (OK, more than a few, but that will soon change) I think most people will tell you that when they first started they smoked AND vaped. There are a lot of people on here that can give you tons of help and encouragement. I'm here for the encouragement part and I'm sure the vaping masters? will be along shortly to give you some solid advice. I've been doing this for 10 months now, I've had my ups and downs. When the downs hit (ie, problems w/units and/or cartos) I always fell back on analogs for a few days. There are lots of people on here who started vaping and never touched a cigarette again. Good for them. There are those of us who have fallen off the wagon so to speak. You just get some good advice and jump back up on here with the rest of us and if you're reeking a little bit of tobacco, well, I'm thinking we can overlook that for now.

You're gonna do this - no worries.

+1 for this. Wise words! My sentiments exactly. The desire to quit is the first step. The fact that I smoked was honestly what I found least attractive about myself and I felt like a total .... smoking despite the fact that I knew how bad it was for me. But still, I loved it! I just realized I loved vaping, not to mention breathing, more.

I'm a comrade of yours- I smoked the Am Spirits too. Blues. And I have actually heard that it's easier for us AS smokers to kick the analog habit because we don't have to worry about thousands of other gross, carcinogenic chemicals they pack into other analogs (i.e., "additives"). Still, worlds worse for you than vaping. The further out you get, the easier it gets.... I can say that in confidence. Within just a few days, when your lung capacity grows and you don't run out of breath doing menial tasks and the smoker's hack starts to fade, you realize how worth it it is to kick the cancer sticks.

Vape on, my friend! :D

I'm sorry I haven't come back here after first finding it. I initially registered and did some research before finding what I need and haven't needed the forums since and really just struck out on my own. I now have a step-brother who's trying to quit and I wanted to check out what was happening here so I could help and realize that I might be able to help other as well. Better late than never I suppose.

I quit analogs entirely back in November of 2010. This after 10 years of a pack a day followed by 10 years of somewhat declining use bouncing around 10 - 13 a day. I had managed to actually quit for a few days at a time every now and then, but it never stuck.

I had heard about e-cigs for a while (Green Nicotine in particular) and when they did a free demo at The Tobacco Barn in Tucson I planned on going but its so far from where I live and work, I didn't ever get there. After that, I saw some sketchy little store with a 'Discount e-Cigs' painted on the side of it. It was right on my way to and from work. I passed it every day... I had also started online research, discovering this website and litecigusa.net. Not yet sold on the proposition as well as being overwhelmed by the myriad of options up to over-volting mods (I overclock my computer, so I kinda liked that idea), I made the leap to go into this store and see what was what.

They had a few disposables and a few 510 kits. Based on my price research online, they were anything but 'discount'. But I went ahead and bought a disposable (for $20 I think!) and was fairly impressed with what even that was like. I then jumped in with Litecigusa and bought a few disposables and a charger and some batteries (I thought automatic would be better - wrong!), some cartomizers and some Blueberry juice. I loved it all. How long did it take me to get off analogs? I finished the pack I had on that Friday night and by that weekend I was vaping only. Probably not typical, but I had been gearing myself up for a while and really thought I could do it.

From my perspective, probably the biggest key is getting a flavor (or flavors) you really like in the right nicotine level. 24mg? 36mg? 22mg? Something like that to get off the analogs. Next, don't be afraid to vape. Nearly all the time if necessary. Don't give yourself time to think about having a cigarette. Getting juiced up on a little extra nicotine isn't going to hurt you in the long run. The key for me was to transition my habits to vaping. When you wake up, after you eat, when you drive... all those key times. Have more than one battery (I now use the eGo-T 1000mah). Keep them rotated and charged. Keep your juice with you all the time. Make sure you have extra atomizers or cartomizers. I started with cartos, moved to dripping attys and have recently moved back to cartos for a stronger throat hit and better vapor production.

Personally I love Freedom Smoke USA. I found them as they were opening their store here in Tucson and now go in every couple weeks. Check them out and sample, sample, sample. Find what works for you. Don't be afraid to experiment. Mix juices on your atty to see what its like. Its really up to you... You can do it!

Boy this sounds familiar I have been vaping for about a week and have just spent a little over $150 so far. I did do the “only pay S &H” for $4.95 for Fifty One Trio and that same night I ordered Blu’ for $69.59 and extra carts and spent around $100 on that total order. The next day of full smoking analogs and burning the hell out of the two units I had I ordered another $50 worth of juice. Then I found the forum. I am in the same situation you are in I want to quit since it’s only been 30+ years of 2 PAD. I am looking for a rig to satisfy my need, good luck.

just wanted to say i started bout 2 weeks ago bought the mall brand, still wassmokin a pack a day, found a local store, they had a MT DEW flavor that that kinda took care of my Mt Dew addiction and i think the joose had a high nic level, anyways ... it tasted really good, and within 5 days i didnt go buy anymore cigs. im now 7 days without analogs, and when ever I smell one i wanna get sick. Ive tried everything, so i would suggest that u find a sweet or fruity flav that u like and eventually the joose will start tasting better than the tobacco. I got to where i would take one hit off a cig, and then gag on it and throw it out.
Just stick to it and it will happen.... I say this as I sit here with my vaping pacifier !! Good Luck.. U can do it, and u will when u are ready

You are not alone! For me it was a bit easier, as I knew I wanted to quit, and I did quit for a year and then get started back. I started stopping analogs about 3 weeks ago, I smoked like 3 - 5 analogs the first day, 2 the next day, and I took 1 puff off my last one on the third day. That puff nearly gagged me. That doesn't mean I don't know what it's like to have the crave for a smoke though, as some random times I get an OVERWHELMING urge for an analog. If I had any, I know I probably would have tried them...thank God I don't buy them or keep them anymore!

It's one of the hardest things in the world to kick, don't beat yourself up for smoking! The best advice I've heard is to make a plan and stick to it. It has to be your plan, because you know yourself best. Decide you want to, deep down. And hey if all vaping does for you is cut down your analog intake then you've saved about 20 days of your life for each one you didn't smoke.

Good luck and God bless to everyone out there that is trying to quit!
