No, the post screws into the base, the spring is to keep the post from touching the negative part of the battery. Notice the threading on the post in the last photo 4th posted, and the threading on the base (picture 2nd to last) above it.

Ok got that. Thanks. So what is the path of current. Through the spring?

To those considering buying the Ehpro Shipwreck: you may want to hold off until suppliers start distributing this from Sigelei. I'm sure they will be bought up fast, and there will be some comparisons (especially at price point).

You should buy a bunch of those springs and sell em here! I'll buy one :) I haven't gone out to look yet, but I'm sure I'm going to have a really hard time finding one. You would happen to have a package/manufacturer or part # would you? any pics? Does your new spring prevent the buttom from being fired from the edge of the button?:

Spring doesn't prevent a side fire (bonus). Not sure the specs, I just handed this to the guy at the store and said, need something tighter. Playing around, it's the same size as the zenesis spring. Electronicstix has replacements for $3 (doh). The other things you can do, take the replacement spring and put BOTH springs in the switch.

Well Id like it alot more of I could figure a way to shorten the throw and also eliminate the wobble of the button. Ive tried a few ideas of ny own but none were very successful.

The finish has held up very well. Im disappointed the tubes dont havr enuff room to run a shortstop but thats not a horrible thing.

Where did you get the gold drip tip?

My finish has held up well too. I was pleasantly surprised by that.
My button doesn't wobble too much. I keep it unscrewed only minimally, maybe that helps.
Maybe a flat top battery would help fit the shortstop? I dunno.
Gold drip tip is from smoktek. It's plated.

Nope on the flat tops. Im running panny 18650's flat and flat efest 18350's and its a no go. just not enuff room. Im sure I could run 18500's with the 18650 tube and a shortstop but I dont have any 18500's or 490's. Im not concerned too much with the short stop running imr's but its nice to be able to use it if I prefer.

Either way Ive been running that zatty clone on top with a .8ohm flat kanthal coil and 500 mesh. Works great. Its a nice atty for flat wire.

What I did was add a #10S brass washer in between where the thicker part of the screw goes into the button. I drilled out the washer to flush fit the screw sanded it a bit thinner on each side to ensure that it was flat so that the button could fire very straight (used 80grit paper). Also this washer size is a perfect fit and does not cover the battery air holes.

Also, you can put a bit of teflon tape at the end of the screw before it goes into the button, this will prevent the button from accidentally unscrewing when you constantly lock/unlock it.

It's easier to lock/unlock, to me, there was no percievable wobble, and the throw was nice and very easy.

I would post pics, but unfortunately I recently lost my 8W : [
