Currently using an eVic and eMode (Vivi Novas on top of the eVic). I am wondering which is the better direction to go in with my first ProVari, a Carto-tank setup like IBTanked, or the rba route with say a Z-Atty-Pro?

Could anyone list the PROs and CONs of the two different directions? Flavor to me is #1, with ease of daily use a close #2. Thoughts?

It was suggested that I start a new thread about this. Currently and somewhat happy with my eVic and Vivi Nova, and my new eMode actually tastes a bit nicer. After reading many of the ProVari threads, that looks to be my next purchase, and I figure that would be a good time to make a change. If I understand correctly, making a coil isn't something I'd need to do daily or often. But I am more of a 'user' wanting the best vape I can get, hopefully without a lot of daily hassle.

IMO - Best flavor will be obtained with a genesis tank (like the z-atty) or a pressure differential RBA like a Kayfun or similar. A carto tank (also a pressure differential atty), like the terrific IBT tanks combined with a Ikenvape or Boge 2.0Ω carto, is a close second for flavor.

I use them both... the carto tanks being the most convenient and easy to deal with... the RBAs more "fun" to play around with, experimenting with coils, wicks and what-not. Coils can last weeks, even months with the right wire, but wicks need to be changed out at least every few days.

I'd suggest the tank if you're not into tinkering... RBAs if you are.

Less hassle? Carto tanks for consistent vape and ease of use.

ZAP has a learning curve. Ceramic wick breaks easily. It leaks if not upright. But you can get a very good, smooth vape once it's dialed in.

Want the best of both worlds? Get a Sophia(or Diver) to use in your favorite tank.

Get a Sophia ...... to use in your favorite tank.

This.

The Sofia is such an amazing atty. You'll need to deal with non resistance wire, but there are places that sell ready mades if you don't feel like joining your own wire. Everyone that has one is praising it for a reason, the flavour and ease of use is second IMO to only the Spheroid and even then it's really really close.

I'll share my experiences with you. I have two Provari's. Over a dozen IBTanked pyrex cartotanks using Ikenvape cartomizers. Two Genesis-style RBA's.

Cartotanks will have a slight learning curve compared to having used a clearomizer. The most important part will be learning to prime the cartomizer prior to inserting it into the assembled tank. How well you do this will determine how well that carto will perform for the rest of its life. Take your time and do it right and it will reward you for 1 - 3 weeks of excellent flavor and vapor. Cartotanks will have more flavor and vapor than a clearomizer, are maintanance free, and very consistant and dependable. Useful for both home and away.

Baditude's Cartotank Setup Guide

IBTanked Pyrex Cartotank Review

RBA/RDA's are advanced delivery devices. Large learning curve. For at home use only; Gennies leak when not kept upright. They require some DIY type skills, knowledge of volts/resistance/amps/watts (Ohm's Law), knowlege of battery specifications and types. That's all in addition to learning what type of wick or coil build you will end up using. Research and self-education is key.

I use two AGA-T2 rebuildable tanks. I had a frustrating time making my own SS mesh wicks, and ended up using pre-made wicks from an online vendor. Works good enough for me. Wrapping coils (30g 6 - 7 wraps for 2.0 ohm) was easy to learn; with each coil made it gets easier.

When they are working optimally, this is the best vape I've had. Clouds of vapor that had me laughing out loud. Flavor can be hit or miss; I had to experiment with several flavors until I found a couple that compared to my cartotanks. However, to me RBA's can be fussy and inconsistant. Wicks and coils need to be fiddled with often. I don't like fiddly, I just want to vape. 70% of the time I'm using a cartotank, 20% an iClear 30 clearomizer, and 10% of the time one of my AGA-T's (if they are working).
