First, I want to thank Baditude for all of the help

I went ahead and purchased two 19mm, xl tanks from IBT. I got the stainess caps, drip tips, and some cartos.

After some frustration and some loss of my precious juice, I finally got it.

If you are fed up with wicking clearos and are thinking about a tank system, I say dooo it. Some advice from a fellow Newb. Read, watch, and read some more! There is a plethora of information here and a ton of veterans eager to help you out. I recommend these articles first. Just my

At first, I had a leaking, wobbly mess. I just wanted what everyone else here wants: A good vape.

I know when these goodies come how tempting it is to just try to throw it together but just take some time and do your homework, you will not be disappointed.

Cheers,
Gwen

Ooops, forgot show some love to Ocelot too :)

Are cartotanks really that good? I use a ViVi Nova and love it. How much better are they in comparison?

I am still learning but for me, I found the flavor is better in the carto tank. I have the vivi's and like that they are a little quieter but got sick of wicks and muted flavors. JMO

If you are happy with your setup, that's super.

To answer your question.....YES

I use Stardust (wick) clearos with my eGo batteries and they work well for me. Since I've gotten my big battery mods in January, I've used DCT's. They took some getting used to and for me they just don't seem to be very consistent (I use Smoktech single hole dual coil cartos), but they worked fairly well after I got the hang of priming them. However, yesterday's vapemail brought a new 3.5ml Vapeonly BCC (bottom coil clearomizer) Mega for my ProVari, and I'm very impressed. Based on what folks are saying about these, they will be easier to deal with (no priming, etc.) and the coil heads will last considerably longer than the cartos for the DCT. The vape is great so far too. We'll see how it works over the longer term. But for those frustrated with, or too impatient for, the cartotanks, give these Vapeonly BCC's a try.

Well here is my limited experience with tanks.

The first 2 carto tanks came with my Imferno kit aka (Tube Tank). The don't hit too well on those batts, too much airflow. You have to crank them down tight!!

I picked up a tinted DCT carto tank and that thing works awesome. Looks cheap but works well.

Now for clearing tanks. I got a 2.2 ohm Vision XL clearomizer. Works awesome and great flavor. I got 2 Vivi Nova yesterday with my Vamo. They both leak but I like how they hit.

A tip...don't feel you "have" to use dual coil cartomizers in a carto tank! In fact...DON'T! Use single coil...even if you tank says "DCT"! I think you'll find you get far better results and consistency!

I love my carto tanks. It's such a relief to actually get a really good vape all the time...so much better than the clearomizers ever were! (Yes, I thought the clearos/wick style tanks were good at first. But the love affair was short lived. No so with carto tanks..been using them over a year now).

I just switched and the difference is night and day. The Nova is OK but the cartotank really opens up the flavor, and you get huge, juicy throat hits. Closest to an analog I've found. I'm only on day 2 with the cartotank, hopefully it will hold up as well as the Nova (1 week between cleaning/rebuilding).

That's awesome!

I also want to add that when my first order arrived, the drip tips that I ordered were not included. To my amazement, I received a hand written note, four tips and two cartos, all on the house. They have my business fer sure!

I started out with Cartos and still currently use them , and went to top coil clearos and didn't like the idea of constantly tipping to get juice to wick right, now I am Loving the BCC'c as far as flavor, to me I get more flavor with the clearos than the cartos and less plasicy taste from the clearos than the cartos, in my opinion

One thing to consider when purchasing a tank is the availability of replacement cartos. I bought a 4.5 ml SmokTech polypropylene tank with metal endcaps for the juice resistance. Now that I would like to try single coil cartos, I cannot find them pre-punched and flanged in the 35 mm length that I need. Baditude's list was an excellent place to start my search, though!

I am super picky when I get a cartomizer primed for the first time. I fill up the carto the night before and let it sit all night and then when I put it in the tank and fill it up I let it sit for an hour. The first time I just filled the carto and let it sit for 20 minutes and then put in the tank and it was sooo noisy!

The way I do it now its super quiet and no problem.

They got me started on them too. I also have the IBTanked 19mm. It takes a bit to get used to them, but it's worth it in the end IMO.
