you have to WANT to quit or nothing's going to work.
I have quit... Not a single analog in 2 1/2 months and very, VERY infrequent cravings for one... Just haven't found my happy place in regards to vaping yet...
You ought to check some of Bussardo's reviews, the technical part comes clear.
In short the PWM gives you either 6 volts or nothing. The amount of time it gives you nothing gets less and less the higher you have set your watts beign almost zero at 15 watts and THAT is what fries your LR-cartos.
Also there were some speculations about the way Boge tests their cartos at the factory and wether they might have accidentally fried some lots of their LR's with faulty testrigs but that's just speculation.
So I would suggest to either give the SR's a go, or change mod from PWM 33.3 to flat or try using Kangers since beign bottomcoils the filler doesn't burn.
I've watched most of his stuff (what pertained to me, personally)... Guess I need to go to his site and study some more... Thanks!
Try manual dripping with Avid's HH.357. If that tastes fine try the HH.357 on your VMOD and see if that works for you. I prefer keeping my HH.357s very wet and find that my VMOD doesn't quite manage that. If you have a similar experience you might want to try either using micro-coils on a smallish rebuildable dripping atty or trying the very expensive AMP Tank. I find the AMP Tank provides the identical vape experience as manual dripping.
Some people find the AMP Tanks fiddly but I haven't and regularly use three. I use mainly 70/30 juice and only need to manually feed two or three times per tank. You manually feed by covering the air hole and taking a light dry pulleasy and fast. Higher VG juices will require more manual feeding.
RDA's would be a whole lot cheaper than AMP Tanks and many people prefer them to the HH.357s. If you find you like them it would probably be worth getting a Reo. If you don't like the Reo for some reason it's an easy sell in the classies.
I have a VMOD... Not too thrilled with their attys, so I grabbed a couple from Cisco and a couple from Empire to try out and see if that helps... Amp Tanks are way out of my price range without knowing for sure they'd work for me... And arthritis and RDA's don't work well together, from everything I hear... Thanks!
Have you tried the prepunched 2.0hm dualcoil cartos in your tank yet? That's the setup that's worked best for me for 2+ years now. They hit better and more consistantly than any of the others I have tried. I vape them on a provari at 5.2V. I use the 2 hole punched and occasionally drip juice in the top on occasion as I like a juicy draw. Good luck.
I grabbed 20 pre-punched (big single hole laser cut) 2.0's and it's the same with them... They actually weren't wicking well and I ended up punching a second hole in them... Maybe the problem is brand... All I have used are Boge, so far...
Have you tried a Protank or iClear 30 or even iClear16 on your device? I started out with the Kanger T3 on an Ego Twist at 3.4V for clear liquids. Worked ok. Then I tried various tanks and clearos. Now I use Kanger Protanks, an Innokin iClear30 and a evapesONLY BCC Mega. These all work well for me. The Innokin iClear 30 leaks a bit into the 510 connector but gives a reliable consistent vape.
Started out with clearo's and had no luck... Went back to smoking... So I'm leery about getting back into them due to personal experience...
You must be doing something right if you haven't smoked for 2 and a half months. Has it always been this dissatisfying? Have you gone through any brief period(s) of satisfaction?
I wasn't satisfied with vaping immediately. It was enough to keep me from smoking. But, I kept looking until I stumbled upon 306 dripping atties. Luckily it was only about 4 or 5 weeks in when I made my great discovery. About the same time I also made the discovery of my ADV, Caramel Macchiato.
So, for about 6 months that's all I used. My other equipment and juices just sat around collecting dust.
Then I got a couple of bad batches of atties and started getting frustrated. On top of that, my tastes started to change around that time, and my ADV just wasn't quite doing it anymore.
Instead of just throwing out the bad atties and buying more right away, I got so frustrated that I wouldn't touch a 306 and started trying other stuff. I've tried lots of new stuff. Most not very satifying. Some very good.
It took me a very long time to get carto-tanks worked out. (I tend to get frustrated and walk away for long periods before I'm willing to try again.)
Clearos? I'm still working on them. Some are hopeless. Some show promise.
Best so far? DCT and dripping atties (back to the 306 again).
I don't know that any of this helps. I just want you to know that you're not alone. We all go through bad periods. Some have trouble from the start. Some are lucky enough to get a good start and run into a rough patch later. But, it's all part of the game.
Vaping will never be as consistent and simple as smoking. But, when it's good, it's a lot better!
I have yet to have a moment where I said to myself, "This is effin' AMAZING!"... As of yet, it's been a mediocre journey... That's where the frustration comes from... I won't go back to smoking because my 8-year-old daughter (who is my angel and love of my life) doesn't want me to... Simple as that... "I tend to get frustrated and walk away for long periods before I'm willing to try again" is me to a tee... No doubt about that... Hence, my attitude toward clearos still... Thanks for the input! =O)
I've certainly had my share of frustrating days when nothing works or tastes right and I long for the times when I could just light the dang thing up and smoke it. What keeps me from doing that, though, is my pride in my six plus weeks without an analog and the guilt and sense of failure I would feel if I lit up again. It's a freakin' miracle that I haven't had a cigarette in so long, so I just can't do it, no matter how much hassle vaping may seem that day. It always gets better, and I make sure to have several PVs to choose from in case one is misbehaving. Sometimes it just takes some time to find your best setup, and I truly hope you find yours soon!
My pride is my daughter... Can't disappoint her... I'm not giving up... Just hit a point where I was on the edge and ready to fire an APV through a window or something... It gets really irritating for me... I'm not the calmest and I want stuff to work the way it's meant to work... When it doesn't, I get peeved quickly... My flaws... Just want to get something to work, work well and work consistently... If this is what it's going to be like for the long haul, I may need to invest in boxing classes or something... ;O)
I've bumped down to 6.5-7 watts, so we'll see if that changes anything... Hoping to get my new attys tomorrow, so I can try them out... Guess time will tell... Sincere thanks to EVERYONE who commented on this thread... I appreciate the time you've all taken, the assistance you've given and the compassion you've shown... THANKS!!!
