Cartomizer Break-In? (510 Cartos)

I just picked up a pack of blank 510 cartos from LiquidXpress, along with a couple of liquids- I really dig the Cool Rush so far!

In any case, I filled a couple of them via the condom-fill method, and have had pretty decent performance, but not the crazy vapor cloud insanity some have described. I also found that I could not fit as much liquid into them as I expected.

Is it possible that the batting needs to wick up some liquid, and that I could then fill them again, to get the 30+drop fill I've heard about, and do they age-in over time (regarding performance)?

Put the condoms back on after filling and flick it like you were trying to get ink in a pen to go to the tip of the pen. Then add some more drops.

Try blowing them out lightly after filling, too. If they flood a little, they still work, but the vapor will be weak. A dead give away is that they gurgle instead of popping.

And I agree with sanfordf on flicking them. On some that I have removed the mouthpiece on I can see liquid pooling instead of soaking at around 20 drops. After a few flicks the batting looks dry again and will take another 10 drops easily.

I've found this to be very true. If the carto is over filled it will work but not very well.

When I first started to use / refill cartos, I got too concerned with trying to max out the amount of juice. For a new, blank carto I now put 20 drops in it and let it sit for about an hour. Works perfect for me and my cartos.

Yup, as hard as it is, you have to let them sit for a little while.

You can also try the Taryn spin method to get some more liquid in there..but it's pretty much the same thing as the 'flick' method sanfordf mentioned, just more equipment..

Also, they vary a bit from one to the next. Some will be fog machines while others will just be ok. Haven't got a doa one yet though. Also, 30 drops is too much. Use 25 max just to be safe otherwise you risk flooding and burning up the filament.

So true. Nothing like adding 20 or 30 drops of juice and getting a ho-hum result, either
