Cartomizer confusion

Ok so I just got empty Joye cartos for my 510. I filled with the condom method about 20 drops thru the battery end (the other end requires a syringe). It works very well and makes great vapor, but stops after about 8 - 10 drags. It is still getting hot, and works again if I refill, but I am sucking through a carto quicker than a regular cartridge.

What is going on and where is my juice going? Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to ecf. What size of cartos did you get? The 510 cartomizers that need a syringe don't hold a lot ....maybe you are vaping it up? If it is getting hot then that means no juice is in the atty. Any reason you choose these cartos over others?

Thanks that is good info. I figured they all hold about the same amount.

Not sure about the size. I got them because they were a good price ($8 for 5 from cignot). I have heard good things about the Boge cartos, I might pick some of those up.

Anyone have any recomendations for a 510 carto?

You're not getting enough juice into your carto in the first place. We all have our preferred method for filling our cartos. The condom method just didnt' work well for me on my Joye Cartos. I've never used a syringe to fill my Joye cartos.

I've used Joye Cartos for 5 months and love them. I fill the carto by dripping drops through the battery end. For a new carto, about 15 drops, a kleenex or papertowel on both ends of the carto and do a windmill swing for 20 rotations with my arm and add about another 15 drops. I judge the number of drops to add by stopping when the juice stops fairly quickly soaking into the carto. Often do a windmill swing again after the second fill. Let it sit for a few minutes. Blow through the mouthpiece end into a kleenex or papertowel for 3 or 4 blows to eliminate any juice I "might" get in my mouth when I start using it. At the hint of it starting to get dry I add more drops the same way as in the first place. The windmill swing isn't a "have to do" but it does help the juice soak into the filler better so if I'm not somewhere I want to do that I just wait a minute before adding some more drops. I recently fell in love with carto's, I hated them when I first started vaping, one reason was that it seemed that I ALWAYS had to keep on filling them, and I got juice in my mouth all the time. I finally figured out the best way to use them. I got some soft top Boge carto's, and then fill from the top. Just pop the rubber top off of them, drip the juice directly onto the filling, you can see when they get full, then I put a drip tip on them and VAPE to my hearts content, I ended up actually getting a bottom feeding juice box so I didn't have to keep on filling the top, but that was later on.

I just ordered 4 packs of his LR Boge, and I turned my wife onto carto's, before all she would use was her tank attys, but once she tried a Boge LR carto with a drip tip, she fell in love with vaping. She is using them with an ego. I think they are only 2 ohm, so they shouldn't mess up an ego battery, however I think you are only supposed to use regular resistance atty's/carto's with ego batteries. But as I said these aren't 1.5, so I think they are good. Its something about a chip being in them I think its called a mofit? Mofset? Something like that. Anyway, check out the Boge with a drip tip, you'll love it.

Oh, and I just noticed you are from South Carolina too, he is local to me. He's in North Myrtle Beach, so you will have tax's to pay, but unless you live upstate you ought to be able to get them very quickly. I ordered Friday, and I should have them tomorrow.

Thanks and nice to hear from a fellow sandlapper. It never occurred to me to put a drip tip on a carto. I already have one drip tip and it is by far my favorite way to vape. And thanks for the link! I think I will pick up a couple of packs of these
