Every video I have ever seen on this method gets intentionally edited. The leaves viewers with the false security that there are no issues with this method which is shown in the Doctor's video.

I understand what you’re trying to say, and agree new users should be informed of these issues. But in defense of the "Doctor's" video, I don't believe that he intentionally edit anything out anything in an attempt to hide anything. If you watch the video, it isn't like your average YouTube video. He spends a little more time than most folks making his videos. He tries to make them a little nicer and cleaned up. He adds intros and credits and such.

In the video, it's edited in the beginning when he first talks about it, to cut straight to the filling part. Then after filling, the video cuts to the next scene where he's vaping the filled carto. I really don't think he was trying to edit out any spillage or anything like that. He was just trying to make a clean cut video that looked quality. Which I believe he accomplished. I give credit to man for taking the time to make good instructional videos. Most people make some pretty poor quality videos on the same method, just wasting time in between each step as they adjust the camera and such.

It might have been a good idea to mention some of the mishaps that could happen using this method. But he might not have experienced any in his attempts, to even know about. It’s always easy to look back and say in hindsight that you should have added or mentioned something to the video.

I’m not disagreeing with anything you say about using this method. It is all very true and important to mention these types of problems that could occur with this method. I just felt like I should stick up for the good Doctor a little bit. You have to give props to a man who takes the time to make videos like that, only trying to help the community. But I agree with you completely.

I think you might want to check one of these out:

Thanks for that tip. Looks like a promising alternative for syringes. I might consider using something like that.

So you like to use a syringe ..... we get that!
Now why are you making such a big deal out of filling a carto?
It's not rocket science!
And for clarification, that is not a MAP tank.

I didn't mean to start a heated debate. I was just curious to the benefits of using syringes over the condom method.

I used the condom method when i tried carto's - wasted almost 30ml of juice for flooded, pointless, aggravating vaping. I personally try to avoid carto's at all costo's. Haha, see what I did there?

How did you waste so much? Was this all spilled in one attempt? Or was this over many repeated attempts. I would have defiantly gave up this method if I wasted that much juice. But I've been very fortunate so far, and have only lost about a drop per fill.

Look inside a syringe after you have filled a carto and you will see that same drop of juice still in there.

If you are using the condom method and an auto bat, it would be wise to clear the center tube and clean the connector.
But, informing people that they need to take those precautions in no way require inflammatory videos or my way or the highway dissertations about syringes.

I don't have any, or have I used any syringes for filling my cartos, so I wouldn't really know how much is wasted this way. But I was wondering that. I was assuming that there would be a small amount left over in the syringe.

What do you mean by that? Did my post come off like that? I didn't intend to sound like that. I didn't mean to sound like "my way or the highway". I was just trying to say that this method worked for me, and also that I do recognize the dangerous in this technique. I wasn't trying to flame the syringe method or any videos about either method.

I started the thread just curious to what the benefits of using syringes were. At the time I had no mishaps or spills, and wasn't really thinking about the dangers of the condom method. I understand now why some people prefer syringes for filling cartos. But I definitely wasn't trying to flame anyone. Sorry if I came off that way.

Can I just say that every time someone says something negative about having syringes around the house, I cringe.

I do not leave my syringes just laying around. I don't have them near my children, who are 10 and 12... old enough to know not to touch my stuff but, also, old enough that drugs are a concern at any time, now. I do not, however, order anything but blunt tip needles. They are straight across, not even a little sharp. The word syringe is being lumped up into something negative, and I really can't understand why.

I think tj99959 comments were directed at SnowDragon re: my way or the highway.
Some here, when filling with a condom, prefer to place a round toothpick in the air passage to prevent juice from entering that area. Haven't tried it but makes sense to me.

I used the words "lay around the house" loosely. I didn't literally mean it like that. In my situation, it's not really a safety concern with having needles laying around the house. The issue is with just "having" them in the house at all. It's a little bit complicated, but it's just not good to even have them in the house at all (in my house). I wasn't really worried about the safety aspect of having them laying around. I'm not irresponsible, and just leave needles laying around. We don't have any children in the house, so it wasn't that type of concern.

Just thought I'd clarify that a little.

Sorry KH, that wasn't aimed at you.

Sorry, I misread your comment. I was a little confused, lol

...let me step back in here...DEEP BREATHS EVERYONE...ahhhhh, feel better now???...I truly don't care what method you use to fill your carto as long as you get it filled and it works for you...it's all good...
...I use several methods depending on how lazy I am feeling and where I am at the time...I truly like a syringe for the first fill of any XL type carto for the first fill, it is simply quicker...I also use one for the first fill of any carto, if it is a 85% Rhigher VG juice, otherwise it would take a couple of days to fill...
...my daily vape is a 40PG/60VG and I have no problems filling with it in any sized cartos...it soaks right in...I also regularly use the drip method, which takes around 60drops(from my bottles) to fill XL sizes and 30 for std sizes(and sometimes I just flood it out...twice rSo)...
...I always leave the bottom condom on, no matter which method I use...I tried the condom method just once and said nope...too fiddly...
...my only problem with seeing the condom method recommended is the fact, rarely is it mentioned, you will have to fill the condom from 2-4 times to get the carto properly filled...
...it makes think there is a vast conspiracy by carto manufacturers/resellers abetted by auto-batt makers to boost sales of both(winkwink)...
    ...remember....IT'S ALL GOOD...........
    Happy Vaping to all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay now that everything's calmed down let's have the condom fillers flock over here :D
    Too funny.

I really wasn't expecting for this thread to get this many posts. I was just expecting to get 2-3 people telling me their preference and why. I never knew this could be a touchy subject. It's up there with the abortion & death penalty debates.

I personally prefer safe vaping with a condom. :pervy: But just like "real" condoms, they're not 100% safe.

No!! I wasn't implying that you meant that in a literal way!! I just wanted to point out that you can get them with a blunt tip, and that the people who DO use them are probably responsible with them (I hope!!) It wasn't even directed at you, really... it just seems that a lot of people have bad feelings about them, and I thought safety might be an issue.

LOVE the sense of humor and that's exactly what the Dr. ordered for this thread. Yeah folks sure are passionate about their filling method. My advice to everyone- try, like I did, all the different methods and decide which one's best for you.

5 Signs you are an .... retentive vapor-
    1. You color code your cartos and have your juice in alphabetical order
    2. You have mass quantities of supplies so you never risk running out
    3. During the last power outage you bought a generator so your batteries can stay charged
    4. You throw nothing away, because you just might be able to mod it someday
    5. Which method you use to fill your carto causes more of a debate than which way to hang the toilet paper roll.

    Meeeeeee!!!
