The needle idea has merit but IMO anything over one needle is going to get way too complicated, and even with sharp needles any tool like that stands a good chance of compressing the fill material.

I'm thinking the points slide down the side of the barrel, with the tapers towards the centers, so they're, at worst, compressing it towards the middle.

A cartowashing machine certain sounds like a good idea and would no doubt be a ton of fun to design and build, but could ultimately cost far more than can be justified for cleaning a consumable item.

I don't think life would be any fun if I only did things that are practical. :)

Thank You Vapian :)
I was lucky enough to get a full kit from the T/C & got it last Monday.
I had been saving my dirty carto's & yesterday I gave this "INVENTION" a try.
Mine are all 808 or 510's so nothing special, except that I do tend to use a lot of dark, heavy juices & they foul up carto's quickly and they look like road tar had been passed through them.
Out of 7 carto's all but 1 came out looking like new & the other is one that had a lot of dark chocolate & coffee passed through it. It came cleaner then I would have gotten from other methods but not "PERFECT".
The other 6 look like they came out of a new box & the one I'm using now draws like a new one also.
Cleaning was quick & easy & filling was a snap.
I will say that I have been vaping for 50 days now & some of the carto's are at least that old & still are going strong.
From all the gunk I got out from cleaning with this system I would think my carto's will last a lot longer as I could really see the difference.
The 1 carto with the choc & coffee, I'm letting it sit in apple vinager for a few days & I will try to clean it again after that. But either way it should still be usable.
This system rocks :) :) :)

This looks cool, but I dont think it would work for Echo's. ...

KR808D-1 Carto Cleaning: Quick-n-Easy. - YouTube

Hmmm. I dunno, never checked it out on the Echo. You do mean "Echo" as in "Echo-E" (tapered like an eGo Type A)? Or something more like the GoGo cartomizers?

Either way, I have a couple of these bottle adapters laying around from the early research, so I'll try to check them out on Echo-E and GoGo just to see what the fit is like and will let you know what I find.

Somebody make me something, pleeease!, i'll freakin pay you no probs. I have at least 30 echo , 510 and Ego carts, that i have not even boiled, because it just doesnt work period. so theyre just laying around. really sucks.

Not just to meeems, but anyone else interested:

There are some interesting (and relatively good) "life changes" coming up in the very near future that I don't want to go into detail on just yet, but it will have me pretty busy for the next few weeks (maybe even months). I won't be off-line altogether but side projects will have to take a back seat for a while.

There are some materials left around that should let me make a few more syringe adapters - just the part that goes on the syringe, not the tube-y that fits the other end of the cartomizer. Or maybe there is some of that left, just not in the easier-to-build V2.5 configuration.

Regardless, if there is a big block of free time in the near future I might try to make more Cartomizerfillinator syringe adapters and make them available on PIF/TC. But that's a big "if", so no promises.

The best way I can think of to stay in the loop if any are made available is to subscribe to this thread and especially the TC thread, keep your eyes open, and please don't beat me up if nothing comes of it for the next few weeks -- there's enough on my plate already.

:)

That's using your noodle! Very nice.

I have three eGo type batteries that are, for better or for worse, still functional (not bitter yet ;) ) but when one of them fails I might see how that connector fits onto the top of a modified Cartomizerfillinator syringe adapter. If that works it would be the best of both worlds (for a 510 connection, anyway) with a screw-in connection on both ends.

If you want to mess with that idea, send me PM with your address and I'll drop a couple of unmodified female luer-to-barb adapters in the mail for you to play with.

I just came out with my own take on this: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...koff-type-battery-my-example.html#post4987538

thanks to Vapian for the inspiration!

Thanks Vapian for inspiring araczynski who inspired me :toast:

So I didn't want to buy a new charger to destroy one of my eGo batts, and the light bulb goes off. Here's my mod to your mod of the cartomizerfillinator.

Looking at the picture left to right:

1. a 5ml syringe (use a bigger one for cleaning / flushing)
2. short section of 7/16" OD x 5/16" ID tubing
3. short section of 3/8" OD x 1/4" ID tubing
4. mini 510-to-510 open adapter (careful some adapter are closed - no hole through 'em)

Everything was a tight/snug fit, the thread of the adapter actually 'screwed' into the tubing some.

Vapian, I just wanted to thank you. I was a lucky winner of the PIF full kits. I have never sucessfully cleaned cartos and ended up with anything you could vape with. I am currently waiting on a very late shipment of new cartos. On Sunday I followed the instructions and added a few things. Soaked the waiting-to-be-cleaned cartos in hot tap water. Did the warm distilled wash with your carto cleaner + 4 more syringes full after the water was clean and then a vodka syringe. Blew them out on the cleaner and then by mouth. Let them dry until this morning (had them leaning around a salt lamp the whole time). I cleaned about 2 dozen cartos. 2 looked a little burnt, tossed 'em.
Vaped a clean carto all day today. THANK YOU, your gift kept me vaping what I wanted to, instead of going to the wimpy backup pv!

Cool!

The only that might be an issue with either of these is IF the carto doesn't fully seal at the bottom of the battery connector, AND IF the connector that's on the syringe has those notches for airflow, there is a chance that liquid (either flushing liquid or nicquid) could escape through the notches and make a mess of things.

IF that is the case, it should be fairly simple to sand or grind down the top of the adapter/connector to get rid of the notches. As long as the top of the connector remains square to the sides, it should mate flat to the bottom of the cartomizer and at least minimize leakage.

Or even more simple, if a small, small diameter o-ring can be fit in the bottom of the connector or perhaps on the carto itself (like with the Arry ACT tank) that would provide a seal without any finicky work on the connector itself.

BUT those are a lot of IF's... both ideas should work pretty well as-is.

KUDOS, friends! That's the kind of thing this project was started for!

Yes, I've seen them and have one. My basic take on them is in a previous post in this thread.

Basically they are a good idea but do have their limitations (like anything else) and seem to cost quite a bit for what they are (like many other things). BUT, they work well for what they are and are probably much easier for many to get than sourcing their own tubes and adapters and such.
