Kristen,
Now that you mention it, I don't know which one it was. Your org., I believe. I clicked on a link that you posted when looking for reps. I am willing to help any way that I can down here in Florida. I looked in the spam. I simply never got the email after filling out the info & putting the password in. lol

Just tried again. Filled out the info and gave my email. no spam. no email

Tampa2,

No worries - you're in!

CASAA HQ is in Mobile, AL. (we're all fighting the same oil slick)

Glad to have you aboard!

I actually live in Mobile, AL. I never knew of the groups existence until joining this forum, much less that it was in my city. I know I'm a newb, but I'd love to be able to help. I know there isn't much going on down here with trying to ban e-cigs, but they have been pushing to pass anti-smoking bills lately. How can I help?

I am a firm believer in e-cigs as I am one of the ones who just "accidentally" quit smoking analogs. I wanted to quit eventually, but a few days after having one, I just didn't feel the need anymore. Therefor, I am willing to support them and keep them from being banned. They truly can change lives.

How can I help? Stay alert. Read a local newspaper and/or watch newscasts to catch anything going on in your area regarding proposed smoking bans or a direct ban on sales of e-cigarettes or any other form of reduced-harm tobacco such as snus or dissolvables.

Lately, the Alphabet Soup Gang (ASG) is trying to get at e-cigarettes by authoring revised smoking-ban legislation that specifies that e-cigarettes should be treated exactly like the cigarettes that burn. Form a relationship with your local government represenatatives. I regularly email back and forth with my state Delegate. I have already let him know about my success in using an e-cigarette as an alternative to smoking so that he won't be blindsided by the lies being put forth by the ASG.

Mentokk,

Everyone has to hang their hat somewhere when the sun goes down, and Mobile, Alabama just happens to be the Honeycomb Hideout of CASAA, proudly overlooking Bienville Square in the Heart of Downtown Mobile, AL.

The only questionable lawsuit to come up in the past several months was added by Senator Vivian Davis Figures (who let it drop.) There are several key commissioners who do support the no-smoking ordinance, but there is a positive harm-reduction movement here locally to help avoid such knee-jerk assessments. Most city and county commissioners have been well-versed in electronic e-cigarettes and other harm reduction efforts well enough to know they aren't the same.

Education is 60% of the battle.
