It's not my favorite for looks on the Woodvil, but I'll take the performance over looks any day.

Boatload of wire arrived today from Temco...that was fast, when ordered, automated email response said will ship in 4-6 weeks, thought what the hell?.... received it in 4 days.

Every size of flat kanthol should be interesting never using it before.

Need to try the round 29 ga SXD has been using in YT vids....seems to work nicely for him.

No I don't have any nichrome, I'll have to order some....have the same problem with the Vector....using 28 kanthol anyway. Tried 26 kanthol, not any better, perhaps worse at same ohms .55-.66

I'll get it to work if it kills me...fairly new at building coils...now that I have the coil-master its a cinch.

Just lacked the wire, now I have about 2500 ft---:)

I have been using 28 in vectors. I started with 27 and even procured some 26 but what I like best in it is the wire I never liked in any other application - yup, good ole 28. Can't really explain why either.

I have them all set up identically - 8 winds @ 2.0mm using the turbo winder except one - the latest one I built with 10 winds. Didn't meter it but the ones I did meter were around .5 IIRC.

I did have a senior moment Wednesday that didn't reveal itself till yesterday too :). I built the last vector Wednesday night and never vaped it. I started vaping it yesterday and it was perfect. Then I set it down to go make the morning latte. When I returned to vape it it was tight. So I pulled the top and couldn't see any reason for the extreme change in draw resistance. So I opened it up to 4 holes (WFO) and it changed not a thing. I was perplexed.

Vaped the others cause it was so "off" and then it hit me - It was kinda late when I built it so I wondered if I forgot to push that damn screen out? Yep. I had forgotten. That screen makes such a profound difference in a lame way that I can't imagine anyone rolling it that way. I cant. :)

The screen is awful. So bad that it's really fun to take out and throw across the room! But, I imagine it's not that bad for folks who vape in the higher resistances.....then again, why would they need it?

Russ, had the same experience with the screen in the Vector. I just built it and the first two hits were alright, then it seems like the whole thing just plugged up. I pulled the top off, popped the screen out and what a major difference! I can't believe they put that stupid thing in there. Mine has leveled off to .28 ohms, triple twisted 30, 2mm, 6-wrap. I'm loving it.

The screen in the Vector does intensify the flavor but PW is right. Once it gets wet, it acts like a carburetor choke. It can be cleared by blowing into the atty. ( not recommended when hot...:?:) Speaking of hot, it also builds up heat which causes the drip tip to get hot as well. I understand why they decided to put the screen in there to prevent spit back and all but if you build and wick this atty right, that's not a problem either. With that being said, I'm in the same camp with both PW and X. The sooner you pitch that sucker the better.

Anyone thinking of getting a coil master may wanna hold off - they now have a V3 or V1.3 - dunno what it's gonna drop as - but they sent me one and requested a review.

The previous one is fine too but if your one of those types who likes the latest and greatest, just letting you know there's a V3 now.

Can't say more until the review but I can say if you have a previous version your good. This update doesn't really change the principal, just the size of the tool and they now incorporate 2 pole holes into one "turner" thus giving you only 3 "turners" but 6 poles now - they added a 4.0mm for those who like to go BIG or go home.

After using turbocads winder though, I will say that the coils turbos deal produce are far superior to any coils I've ever run but the coil master is prolly gonna be great for like 99% of the coil building public. Turbocad has a thread where he explains how to make it.

The resulting coils are the absolute tightest, perfect coils you will ever make, see or vape. They are in another league altogether than those produced by the coil master - you can't see any light whatsoever thru the coil if you hold it up to the light because it tensions and forms the wire. The coils are much less prone to separation and distortion than coil master coils. They also glow end to end so beautifully.

But the coil master produces the next best thing which IMO will suit all but the most discerning rebuilder :)

I have the coil master deluxe which came with ceramic tweezers, ohm meter, bent nose tweezers, wire cutters , needle nose pliers, scissors and a nifty holder with various screwdriver tips inside. And it all comes in a handy case. I use it all the time. Works well for me.

I'm a big fan of the coil master. I've been using mine for a few months now. I have 2; a V1 and a V2. The only reason I picked up a second one is because I wanted 2 sets of mandrils. The only difference between the V1 and the V2 is that the V2 has the sizes stamped on the mandrils and the winders. But they both make great coils.

I haz plenty.... For now....
There is certainly something to be said for standardization. I did the same thing with the Veritas then later the Marquis; now I have gone the other way. I suppose I have standardized my mods to,an extent; nothing but Sunboxes and TMods with more TMods on the way. My last Reo is shipping out today.

Yard Sale

I have a few attys that I like but don't love for one reason or another that I wouldn't mind letting go.

Hobo v3 BF with slightly modified factory bottom fed pin. 1 used for 10ml, one brand new. $80/$90

Apollo by Leo brand new, comes with both center pin option 1.5mm bore and 2mm bore (2mm installed) I will open it and install the rings to make it squonk and not leak. I will have to look up the price. I bought 2 of them but I will keep the used one for now. Sold

Also I have a Manta2 (authentic) #808 that I adopted that has been replaced with a puny single coil Nectar micro. The manta never left the house and was built twice $100. Sold

Veritas Authentic used briefly and shelved bottom fed like the ch v1.3 $100

Overdose atty, solid titanium by Doc Dave. If you like big bore and small this is your atty. comes with Ti drip tip $110 sold
