Being new to rda's and Squonking....I've finally figured out a good drip tip makes the mod sing.

Found a few long wide bore DT's I had, they must be from the old original Kanger sub tanks, have double o-rings and fit perfectly in the derringers.

Would that be 801 size?

Soz,
801 is  an 8mm OD VS 510 and a 7mm OD.
I had the 801 left over from my Ego mega Catro days. (no, 801 doesn't fit those..so it sat).

Cheers
I

801's are prehistoric, so it works out nice for some of the dinosaurs around here cause we have plenty of fossils left over in boxes that simply would never be used again. So a nice discovery every now and then leads to some repurposed artifacts

Got my Marquis cloner in the mail yesterday :)
No time to build but it looks like good fun and speaking of artifacts I read Marquis' are a Cisco product. Cisco used to be my go to for cutting edge atty's 306's and 357's ;) Hadn't been to avidvapers site in a millennium.

This cloner is fantastic QC IMO, thanks CH

Looking forward to getting my Stumpy! Looks like we may have a winner here. I don't have any TC mods, so what kind of build does this thing call for? I am normally at .3, give or take a bit. Also, all this talk of Ni 80 makes me want to get some to try.

I haven't done a non-TC build on my Stumpy (yet), but let me say that with just 1 AFC hole open on either side, there's more than enough vapor and as much or better flavor than I've experienced in any of the attys I've used in the past. I hate to say it, but my nuppin is sitting in the corner pouting at me for non-use.

I've got too many excellent atties that my 2 nuppins have been sitting and will be leaving me when I get some time to deal with that. Hopefully my Stumpy will be heading my way soon. I picked up a manta that at first thought was just alright, but that thing is a true flavor machine. The airflow wide open is about as restricted as I ever want to go. So, I have really high hopes for Stumpy being a great atty.

My 2 Nuppins get little use, but I'll probably hang on to them, because they look good on my metal Reos, and they are a great flavor atty.
But I've been raving about the Manta, ever since I got my first one, which is a clone. But despite the weird positioning of the post holes in the clone, I liked it well enough to get an authentic, swapped a Vector for a second, and have 2 more coming, hopefully today or tomorrow. I love the Mantas. My favorite atty, so far.

Mantas just got here, thanks Tom! Gonna coil one up in a bit. Upon initial inspection I'm highly impressed with this atty.

If you're into flavor chasing, you'll love it. Just remember to keep your coils in close to the posts. The reduced chamber is only about 15mm diameter.

Thanks for the tip...one thing I'm excited about is the fact that my legs will be so short with this atty, glowing legs shouldn't be an issue. 11 months into rebuilding and glowing legs are still an enemy of mine.

Oh wow, very impressed with this atty. I threw in dual 26g 8 wrap 2mm and the first thing I realized is how friggin beautiful this atty looks when it's all put together. Pics didn't really appeal to me but in person, dude, this is a stunning atty. The vapor output is nothing like I'm used to but I ain't no cloud chaser anyway. The flavor, even off a quick first build, is really really really good. REALLY good. It's pretty much right there with my Vector build if not beyond and the Vector build is ripping with those parallels...

I think I've got the AFC set up right for wide open dual coil. I don't mind the draw at all. Using a Leroux drip tip.

The height of my coils: the top of the coil is on the same plane as the base of the screw/top of the post if that makes sense. It was an eyeball measurement so not sure how well placed it is. I imagine bringing the coils a bit closer to the deck would improve flavor further as well.

I've hit it maybe ten times but I absolutely love it. I actually rather like the tighter-ish draw, and it's not that tight anyway. I also sort of like getting less vapor. I don't think I care one way or the other how much vapor comes out...I just care about the way my lungs feel when inhaling. It's not per se throat hit I'm after but a nice dense lung fill. This seems to accomplish that well without loads and loads of vapor (still more than adequate though!)

This Manta will undergo new builds but it will probably not leave the Woodvil anytime soon. I see a place for both the Vector and Manta in my life. But I think Wakonda's begging for Manta.

ETA it is my favorite build deck of any atty I've used. Dual post is a bit finicky getting built at least for my first time but once built they're perfectly centered, great wicking, and, well, looks purty.

As to height of the coils. If you measure inside the top cap, you'll notice that the center of the air slots is about 9mm up from the bottom of the cap. Set your coils so that with the cap on, they will be centered on the slots; 9mm up from the bottom of the deck.

I don't think I have anything to measure mm with :( visually is that relatively close to the base of the screw, where screw meets post?

I will look, later today, if mine show up. I don't have either of my Mantas with me right now, or I'd pull a cap off and look. But the important thing is to get the coils even with the air slots, height wise.

I'm very interested in your review of the Manta. It's a bit of a departure from the mini cloud chasers you would normally like.
