Well this just happened

Single coil Stumpy may just be my new favorite. Gimme a few days with it but I don't see this atty leaking with the drain so good.

I haven't run single coil in probably 1-1 1/2 years but thought I'd give this a shot. So far I'm unbelievably impressed. Who woulda thunk.

Inspired by Super X, and considering I've been interested in trying single coil again, I decided to do something wildly different. I built a Manta with a single coil - twisted 29g, 7 wraps, 2 mm. Landed me right around .97--basically an ohm. Radically different in terms of the power I'm used to - also - the airflow, since I knocked it down to one side (fully open for the one side).

This draw is so foreign - it's an easy M2L or a very restricted lung hit. I'm experiencing the ability to comfortably draw vapor into my mouth and just let it sift outwards slowly, up into my nostrils and beyond. The flavor (I'm vaping the cure) is also radically different - totally different flavor out of this juice than at .4ish, which is to be expected, but wow.

I'm gonna vape on this for a few days on and off, and see how I like it. I'm actually really digging the flavor outta this build. The Cure is more chocolatey I think - the after taste lingers longer too.

Pushing the envelope here...branching out from what I'm used to. Variety in vaping - it's fun.

Well I see we have renewed interest in the Cam-R. So in hopes this mod is going to materialize in the not to distant future

You and Russ are pushing me over the edge. When I get done with a couple chores, I'm gonna go slap a single center coil in a Velocity and see if this lame RTA build has legs in the squonkin'/drippin' world of 2015. If the Velocity airflow can't make this thing sing, then it ain't real. And if that works, I'm gonna try to stuff stacked coils in there with combed long-staple cotton wicks (time to open up those top airflow holes).

I love rainy, lazy holiday weekends...

Obviously this isn't a single coil atty, but why should I let that stop me? I got no issue with putting 80 watts into a single coil - been there, done that. Just gotta wick it properly. Although I don't really think 80 watts will be necessary - haven't needed it yet. Time will tell.

Decided to start a thread over in "Wick and Wire" to document my observations. I'll make a note to add rayon Tidi balls to Round 2. Recommend a vendor?

It's available lots of places. I bought mine locally but I've seen it on ebay for around $20 for 1000.

Yes the CAM R and SX350J are the same.
As far as your place on the list is concerned, it looks like the numbering format was changed by Digital, but you're actually one spot higher on the list now then you were before.
