I have a question to coil builders more experienced than me.

When I build the Thump I position the coil as far to the edge as possible and a little upwards toward the air channels. However this means really long legs and a 20% leg power loss according to steam-engine. Anyone found a practical solution to this little problem?

Wow... The CC is awesome but I didn't realize how similar it was to a TMod girl from the outside. both great devices, both great friends. This is also a big part of the reason I designed the Cam-M to be more angular and less bar of soap shaped. I wish I could talk either or both of them into a helix shape with a smooth depression in the middle so it would be shaped like the number 8 from the top. Ano+ Helix equals me with a Vaper Chubby.....

It's actually a direct albeit smaller size copy of the Pdib Sumptin. I had one of those up until a year or so ago.

I don't pull em up I put em in my typical location - kinda low.

What's this ^^^^^^^ ! Hey everyone, superX is going regulated!

Knowing that this is a first of a kind mod and that it will be as close to bulletproof as a regulated device can be couple with Toms CS make this a no brainer entry into the regulated world.

Talking to Tom about the details of this mod will get one excited. I expect catfish ingenuity and stumpy quality to be equate to a "must have" device.

Don't have the thump but I have all coils in all attys close to the posts on the positive wire then the negative wire angled over.
Can on occasion get some uneven heating but nothing a strum of the coils has not fixed.
Do it due to wanting wraps instead of legs. Using Vector currently with the top flow air and its great.

I built the Thump pretty much this way. The leg from the positive post is straight out. The negative leg is bent, to go to the post. This way, the coils are basically centered. Even though the negative leg is longer, it doesn't matter, once the coils are strummed, and oxidized.

Thanks for the help with the Thump.

I decided to go for something like the build sXd showed. Coils close to the posts and on the side ie. using the closest post in the positive block. No centering. Being on the side I can direct the airflow right onto the top of the coil. Works very well.

Apropos spare oring for the Thump. I think I need some extra grub screws as well. The two spares are already in use after two screws fell to the floor and probably being lost forever.

Sloppy build to show what I did.

If you look at the air flow the coils should be centered between the air holes and the drip tip and held reasonably high to make the air go evenly over and under the coil without bypassing the coil, this will yield the best flavor but may be a bit harsh. If you find this position too harsh just push the coil down 1mm at a time until you are happy. Top air attys require more tuning than side air simply because the air doesn't travel in a straight line, it arcs and the vector of that arc will change depending on how hard you draw.

As previously mentioned the Thump uses 4-40 x 1/8" grub screws and an .050" Allen wrench. The same grubs and wrench that the Derringer uses.

I literally have hundreds of these grub screws (upwards of 500) and will include a few with your subsequent orders just mention it in your follow up email.

Remember SuperX uses unflavored so he is looking more for a balance of volume and throat hit, the less flavor he gets the happier he is. If it flavor you want lift your coils, if you are using over flavored juice drop them down.

Damn excited about the CAM-R seems to be moving along fast now, it's going to look sick as hell with the anodised finish, can't wait to see finished pictures. BRING ON THE CAM-R [emoji109]

This is how I built it. Kinda the opposite. On mine, the negative is the long leg. The positive comes straight out, so the coils are centered.
