Might go with the 24. But at 2.5mm and a couple less wraps to get me around .3 ohms. I'll give it a try when I get it rather than wait on my grub screws. That positive screw holds that 24 nice and tight?

Yea it's grabbing the 24g nice and snug on the negative contacts. One one the positive contacts is creeping up the side of the screw a little bit but it's nice and tight.

I'm glad you all are posting your experiences with the REMatty. Mine won't be here until looks like Saturday. I probably wont be able to build it until Sunday. I'm not sure which way I'm going to go with it yet. I couldn't find grub screws either in my collection of stuff nor in our little hardware store so I ordered 100 of them and will be here early next week. At least I can try out the bonsai to see how that one does. Besides the Derringer, my favorite atty is the Freakshow mini. Love that thing, except it is easy enough to make a mess if tipped or oversquonked. But those 2 atties are what I judge other atties by. I probably should have stayed on the Derringer list but was really excited about the Rem. We'll see how it goes when I get it.

You have grub screws in the box... All of the Remms that went out yesterday came with grubs as will the future Remms, if you shipped prior to yesterday I let me know and I will send them to you with your next order.

Another failed build due to hot positive legs...

That's it I think. I think I'm done.

This atty is unusable. Worst vape choice I have ever made.
Have you tried the strumming the coil method? Take a sharp screw driver and strum it across the top of the coils. IMO it slightly decreases resistance across the coils but not the legs. Works miracles.

It would seem the Remm is a lot like the Veritas in dual coil in that the challenge will pay off. I still use my Veritas daily. Don't give up... I will coil mine tonight to see if I can come up with any pointers or if I agree. I live for pain in the ice attys, they just make you work a little harder to achieve success but when success is achieved its so much sweeter. I will post my results....

Honestly it can't be worse than the raptor or the Veritas both very trying to coil properly.

I really can't do anything about the negative posts (I will investigate) but I can drill a regular round coil hole in the positive post if you like.

To no avail with this particular atty :( agreed though, normally that works miracles for me

I just need to find some time to experiment with different builds. I will make some adjustments to coil height, angle, and resistance. The hot legs for me was solved by compressing the coil more. The positive not trapping well was solved with going to 26g wire. Looping the negative leg around the screw threads solved that wobble. I want to try the bent negative leg trick so I don't have such a long negative leg. All are minor adjustments.

Tom when sre the derringers arriving to you? And did you order more than the list? And is the positive post spinning issues solved on this kne?

I should have plenty... I ordered 100. 38 go to my Facebook list, 15 go to a wholesale account the rest go to the ecf list which at last check was only about 25. Get on the list and be ready...

As to the spinning post issue: the 1.3 will have a peek insulator like the Remm, I haven't touched a 1.3 yet but I don't see the Remm spinning. Hopefully the peek makes the difference. I might stock up on these if they go well and are still available.

And...slammed!

I haven't had any issues with my REM other than being a bit tricky to build initially. I didn't use any of the tricks that everyone is posting about just applied basic knowledge and figured it out from start to finish in less than a 15 minutes and I'm using 32g nickel and original oem screws!! I think everyone is over thinking this.....I crossed the center positive wires and wrapped the negative around the screws completely ignoring those ridiculous negative post holes.

Sloth,
Try one more thing before giving up....Use your same exact build and just wrap your wires around the screws. DO NOT USE ANY OF THE POST HOLES AT ALL!

Let me know how it turns out....
