Okay, I think for some reason many of you are getting mixed signals from my posts...Let me clear it up so hopefully there are no misunderstandings...
Both of my CE3s were initially punctured very slowly and carefully with a small sewing needle as I found many individuals on ECF said they had better luck with that. One CE3 I filled with Ice Menthol flavor, the other with Watermelon flavor. I took both of the CE3s with me to work, was puffing on the Watermelon casually through the day when I noticed more juice flowing out of the battery end.
I normally take it to be condensation but it was a bit much. I wiped it off, took some more puffs, looked again and it came back. I then took that flavor off and replaced it with my Ice Menthol flavor and was happily puffing until I got out of work. Before I left work, I checked the Watermelon flavor and saw liquid dripping in the mouthpiece end but it was NOWHERE near the needle hole. The needle hole was dry as a bone in fact.
Once home, I placed both upside down (mouthpiece on the bottom) and to my surprise both were leaking through the mouthpiece side, and to my surprise (and horror), both were dripping from the needle hole. I'd like to point out that I've been using CE3s utilizing the method that Outlaw Vaper outlined in his youtube videos + puncture with a small sewing needle and never before had any issues.
When I saw the dripping from the needle holes, I wiped both CE3s down with tissue and again placed them upside down (mouthpiece end on bottom). Again, to my surprise NEITHER were leaking anymore. I proceeded to start puffing with my Watermelon flavor (which had originally been leaking) and it ceased to leak.
I have no clue what happened, or why it was leaking through the needle hole since I am 1000% more steady and careful with the whole refill process than even Outlaw Vaper is in his videos.
There was no tissue blocking the needle hole, but I can definitely see perhaps the liquid blocking it up. I have several problems and questions though, such as why was my needle hole leaking, how much more careful can I be, and is there any way to make it more foolproof?
I'm not so sure about that. If it were the case of the needle hole becoming damaged why wouldn't it just leak immediately? Almost every one i've had leak has either been fine for the first fill or leaked when the juice level gets low. Why would wait for that? I've also never had any leaking through the top of the unit.
My point exactly! This is like a freaking mystery. I know what it's like to screw up a CE3. I screwed up two on my first pack not knowing what I was doing. But I've since done my research and have had good success until this weird fluke.
*EDIT*
Oh, and I just refilled the Watermelon flavor CE3 and so far no leaking from either end. I'll update if I notice any leaks or anything. So far so good. I'll keep in mind if it does leak to keep for parts but I'm still a bit nervous about frankensteining a CE3. I haven't even fully taken one apart yet, just cleaned by injecting with water as per Outlaw Vaper's videos.
If anyone else knows of more or better tutorial videos please let me know!
