I'm getting really annoyed. My second CE3 just died after about 7-8 fills. I have rinsed out with water thoroughly but have been unable to take it apart. It seems that the newer ones may be attached more tightly. I cannot get the clear plastic cylinder off the atomizer part.

My 3rd atomizer has about 5 fills already, if it dies in the next couple of days, either my CE3's are defective or the juice is somehow bad. I am using juice from ECB, all are 70/30 PG/VG, 12 or 18 mg of nic.

Is the juice possibly at fault, bad CE3's, or do they just need proper cleaning?

Waht do you mean when you say "it died"?
Does it not fire at all? If so, do you have an ohmmeter to check the resistance of the coil?

The new ones do come apart just like the old ones. Because of the increased surface area due to the longer base section some may need a little more force or wiggling, but it does come off and cleanup just like the old design.

Not firing at all. Nothing. No sound on the manual when I put it to my ear. On the good one I get a faint hiss.

2 Dead CE3s. Both only lasted between 7-9 fills. They worked fine to empty. When I filled, and reattached to battery, NOTHING!. Tested on 2 manuals and 2 autos.

No ohmmeter... how much does one cost?

I did manage to totally dismantle one, and took a pic. Since this is the one I mangled, I am not sure if it needs a cleaning. I may have mangled it into junk. I may try cleaning with vodka overnight, just to see if it fires up... Even if it leaks, if it works, I can learn from this for future CE3s...

OK, I looked closely at what I have... The wick/filament and coil came right out without any effort. There is one wire that came up and the other did not [it is still attached to the atomizer assembly]. Seems the coil broke.

Not sure if this is caused by the coil burning dirty. My guess is that since it died when refilling, that the little coil broke when I was removing/attaching a battery. I don't manhandle these things, but looking at the pieces, it looks pretty brittle and weak.

REALLY BUMMED now. I know CE3's are considered disposable, but at this rate, I will be spending $10 a week just to stay stocked with CE3's.

Took second dead one apart, the wick and coil did not come off this time. I did not touch it, and am soaking part in water for now. Will leave it, and soak with vodka tomorrow. Too tired to do any more. Maybe the second one has hope.

Sorry to moan, but this is frustrating.
- Dentist mangled my teeth. I was fine before I saw her, now constant agony... Found 16 cavities in my son. When I confronted her, she changed her tune and seems he only needs a few of them filled. When I confronted her about my dental work, same thing. Turns out the tooth that she worked on didn't require work at all, just "recommended", now I need a root canal on it because of the pain. I switched dentists but still need to wait 2 more weeks to see the new one for me and my son.
- Then I hit a deer with my car. Deer had to be put down, and car was a mess, insurance wouldn't accept "Total loss", so I got the check to repair and sold it to one of those "cash for clunker" places.
- Bought a new [to me] car, just in time for hurricane... lost power for almost a week. Car made it fine in my garage.
- Then best friend at work suddenly "retired". My close friend for 16 years, and my only real friend at work.
- Then teen daughter in trouble... in hospital now. We are trying to bring her home.

It has been a really rough couple of months. And in the middle of this, I quit smoking, lol. In hindsight, I am amazed I haven't had a cigarette. REALLY NEED ONE NOW. Bad things happen in 3's.... somebody lost count!

... and right now I am staring at parts for 2 dead CE3's, and this bugs me much more than it should.... I'm gonna grab some vodka, not sure who needs it more, me or the CE3. [I only have a little vodka left in the bottle.]

Hang in there Steve. When life is stressful its the little things that get to us.

Eta: not that anything I just said helps fix a busted ce3 :)
Much appreciated, saw my daughter a few hours ago and told her to try to find the bright side. I need to take my own advice. So, rather than pull out CE3 #4 from my pack, I decided to pull out a brand new x2 yellow clearo. I never used on before. I dont think this one has a primer, so I'm just gonna pour in some juice and fire it up. To play it safe, I have a couple of bottles of SI juice I will use for now.

WOW talk about a string of bad luck!

Regarding you question on ohmmeters...Radio Schack sells them for about $22. You can probably get even cheaper on Amazon. It really comes in handy not only for vaping but for troubleshooting stuff around the house.

Sorry to hear you're having some defective CE3's. I've heard of a few that had open coils, but this is not the norm. Mine average over a month of use with regular cleaning.

Well, I have a few thoughts. On the 2 broken ones, the coils are full of hard black charred gunk. Both died after less than 10 fills, and I did rinse through with water, following youtube instructions, at least once. I have 3 theories:

1- the off brand juice builds up gunk very quickly
2- CE3's are defective [highly unlikely]
3 - I'm a putz [much more likely]

To avoid juice leaking when I fill, I have been vaping ALL the way down until there is none left. This allows me to fill without pushing through juice. It may be causing the last vaped juice to dry out completely on the coils, leaving a hard dry residue. After doing this 7-9 times, there may be so much juice caked on that the coils just burn out. Evem 3 days of vodka treatment didn't help much at all. What a waste of a shot.

It is always easiest to blame myself. With only 2 new CE's remaining, I will test this out. I still have 1 CE3, probably on its last legs from the same caked on gunk. When it goes, I will fire up the last 2 and see how long they last.

I really hope it is my mistake. The vape on the CE3's are the best I have experienced [better than cartos by a mile]. And I have only had one instance of leakage. If I can get my last 2 CE3's to last a few weeks [part time], I will stock up with at least 2-3 sets.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Steve, I flush them out every third refill and my "sweetest" liquid is RY4. Getting charcoal on the coil does wreck them, lowers vapor and flavor as well as leads to overheating the coil which can burn it out eventually. About every two weeks I take them apart and do a major cleaning that might include a dental pick cleaning of the coil if it's heavily encrusted, then a long vodka soak. I've tried soaking them in heavy duty cleaners and it does clean the coil, unfortunately if the cleaner is storng enough to melt the gunk it can also destroy the wicks. I'm still looking for that perfect cleaner that's clean the coils and not eat the wicks in the process and , yes, I've even tried gumout on a dead one. That didn't work either.

Just my opinion, worth what you're paying for it, your results and mileage may vary, no warranty or guaranty is expressed or implied.

After vaping on my new CE3 for a few hours, and playing with it like a brand new toy, I noticed a few things, mostly guesses:

1- there was a bit of leaking upward toward the mouthpiece. I think when I inhale, I may be sucking too hard, causing some juice to come up the filling hole. [mostly because I forget to push the button, and my natural reaction to no vape is to suck harder]

2 - near the intake hole to the atomizer, quite a bit of juice remains trapped, even when turned upside down. If I try to refill it when the juice is trapped there, the pressure of the juice being added could force more juice through the hole, giving the impression that it is leaking after the 2nd fill. I'm vaping down all the way just in case. :)

I love my CE3s!! I have noticed small cracks on some but haven't had any leaking issues....yet anyways. CE3s are a big upgrade from the cartos that I used to have.
