Thanks for the response, do u buy tightly or loosely braided and what diameter? Do u get flaking as well? Really appreciate the advice!

You can use either of the two braided as there is no problem unwinding to cut a strand from it.But i prefer tightly braided(it works best in my Terminator-C).I use either 3/8",or 1/2" ,i have a 5ft length of 1/2" and a 10ft length of 3/8" .There is/has been absolutely no flaking or unwinding of the ceramic at all(this stuff is not like the reg. silica wick we get).

I use the XC-116... It's VERY good wick. I would NEVER vape ceramic wick which has not been treated to the manufacturer's specs. This involves heating it at high temp in a kiln for a specified time. I would not risk attempting to torch the untreated stuff myself.

hey t8, does the rope need any treatment before use like the xc116?

Nope none at all.No torching, not even a dry burn. All i can tell you is i have been using this ceramic rope for about 5 months now, just wrap a coil install it,and vaping away. There is no dust from it,no flaking,or any strands coming unwound like reg. silica.

I've been rocking the XC-116 myself. I use it around the top of my SS cable rope instead of SS Mesh. I love the stuff so far. It doesn't seem to fall apart as much as ekowool does for me. I still torch the hell out of it before using it.

A rod of ss cable rope, some nextel, and 3 wraps of ribbon wire have been doing amazing things for me.

Do you boil this before use?

A lil heat treatment, a lil boiling water, a lil cold water wash, some kanthal D and your good to go for months..

I've played with, cotton, silica, hemp, mesh - really interested in ceramics - already purchased some of the rigid wicks - can anyone explain the difference btw these rigid guys and rope? Does one wick better than the other? Do u also prefer nichrome or kanthal with ceramic?

Would like to play with the rope with my rba/rda's

Thanks for everyone's responses so far.

Thanks for everyone's responses so far.

I like the ribbon kanthal to use with these.. its better then the round nicrome wire and much easier to set-up, all the info you need to know about these ceramics are in the "next big thing fc 2000 ceramic wick" thread. You will love the flavor of you juice once you get the hang of it.
