hi,

I've been vaping for a little more than a month. I have found that at night when watching TV I want to chain vape. (that was when I chain smoked too) like take a hit, blow it out and hit it again. I'm using a joye 510 and a riva 510. when I try to vape like that the atty gets hot quick. would using a passthrough solve that or must I learn patience? and am I correct in thinking that I can use a passthrough without a usb port...I can get a wall plug adapter, right?
thanks!

No a passthrough will not stop the atomizer getting hot as quick. In fact if it's a 5V passthrough then extra care needs to be taken as it will tend to heat the atomizer faster than a standard battery. The effective voltage on things like the standard Joye 510 is said to be around 3.2v, as it's regulated down from the 3.7v battery voltage. So yes, patience between puffs is needed. Or if you have no patience, use more than one device ;)

Yes you can use an AC adapter to power a passthrough and it is recommended to do so. A straight 5v passthrough (without a battery) will easily draw more current than a PC's USB port is rated for. A 2 Amp/10 Watts rated AC adapter is the best option - make sure to check the amps an adapter is rated for, many are only rated for 1A or even 500mA. Wall chargers intended for the iPad are usually rated to 2A, and some of the vaping suppliers stock suitable adapters too.

Papa L is right - it's the atty and I do the same thing - my solution is to have about 4-5 different flavors on different PV's and cycle through them. You could do it with just 2 or 3 - that way each has time to cool down a bit. I also have multiple batts at hand for each and a wallplug with 2 chargers set up at my side table do I don't have to pause the DVR to charge batts :)
