well folks as a pack and a half day Newport 100 smoker for over 20 years i have finally had enough of the stink, burning clothes the constant badgering from the old lady to quit and also my final package arrived to day :).
picked up a pair of vamo v5s and original protanks for my first set up .
after rinsing the tanks out , charging the bats , filling up a tank with nuport from nhaler for the first time. hands shook real bad while i poured the juice sad i know, but true. put everything together like i have read and seen in videos over and over checked the ohms read 2.6..hmm made sure i was in rms mode ,set the voltage according to the chart just to be safe and took a puff. not bad definitely not a cigarette but not unpleasant either . a couple more puffs and decided it actually tasted more like newport than i first thought so i thought to myself i can do this.....

a couple of things i have noticed as a newb and thought others might learn from are these.

1. when using a tank with a beauty ring make sure it is not loose or it will throw the ohm reading off atleast for me it seemed that way maybe i am wrong.
i was getting different readings with it as i used it until i noticed the slight rattle checked the ring and was loose so i tightened it to sit flush with the collar on the vamo put tank back on and it now reads 2.2 and seems to have settled there although it does fluctuate by around .1 ohm... is this normal?

2.the vape was not what i was expecting. not sure what i was expecting but this was more pleasant than i thought it was going to be .

3. was not difficult to set up so do not be intimidated .

4. i really REALLY think i can do this.

that was a 6:45 pm it is now 1:00 am and i have not had a single cig since then... i know it is only a very very tiny victory but a positive step nonetheless .now im not saying i am a non smoker now i still have a long way to go but hopefully i am on my way.

Well, it's certainly not MANDATORY to spend more...but it sure is FUN! Anything to keep you happy, healthy and enjoying a good vape is money well spent!

TRUST me, you will be happy too! I can't begin to tell you how good it feels to not smell like smoke, or how great it feels when you realize your sense of smell is back! Plus, you've made a fun hobby out of quitting! An all around feel good/win win thing.

You may not say it, so I will - congratulations, non-smoker! :)

Sounds like you're good to go. Order some more flavors, have fun!

Tiny victory my .... Sir, you have kicked cigarettes in the balls and showed them you no longer have to be a slave to them any longer. I'm going on three weeks now and haven't looked back. Experiment with other flavors which helps you keep your mind focused on bigger aND better hobby...VAPING AND NO MORE SMOKING. Get backup batteries and ejuices so you won't need an excuse to buy a pack of analogs. Vape on!!!

Hello Mr. Mad,

kick ... and keep going!
yes... vaping can be a substitute... and have to go in knowing full well, it's not a complete substitute.
you still have to have the will power to quit the analogs.

Hopefully ... just hopfeully, that was your last cig before 6:45pm.
And even if not, hope this is your biggest reduction since you can remember.
And then take the final one and let go!

Good luck on your vape journey.

You've already pep talked yourself twice good sign!

Further more from 6:00 on you officially have been a non smoker! Congrats!

My advice if you haven't already done so
get rid of all paraphernalia of the analog habit Ashtrays lighters packs whatever ya got even if you just hide it out of site out of mind.

Biggest habit I noticed I had to work past was my body's habit of reaching for the pack of smokes. So I started sitting the mod where I would usually have my pack sitting.
