I'm adding afc on one of my chalice, also drilled a second hole on the opposite side, haven't made the ring yet :)

I finished my chalice afc, yeah I know it sucks compared to what mark has in store for us but it works really great with a Z mounted coil for me. by having air enter on both sides of the coil I don't get as much throat hit and it vapes awesome :) I didn't like the Z mounted coils at first and preferred the vape I got from a side mounted coil right up in front of the air hole, but now with the air from both sides it's really good for me with a Z coil :) my everyday vape is this chalice so it's got scratches here and there anyway, I just upgraded it to a dna40 so the coil is Ni200 :)

it's got just enough room for a tiny o-ring at the base of the threads which makes adjusting the air holes position to the coil and locking an airflow adjustment in place work really well.

here's as close as I have to a top down view

as you can see the coil is still going to be further from the airhole with a Z coil than most builds but with air entering on both sides it kind of negates the effect of the coil being further away... I tried dual coils here with each coil side mounted and right up to the airholes but he chamber is just too small for duals, gave way too much flavor amplification

I shoot for no legs ..... I like to get my end coils as close to the post as possible with no chance of touching during normal use.

Just one other thing I forgot to mention that might help some. Been using the chalice pretty exclusively since the very first production run and have 4 of them so I've built my share of coils for them.

I do keep track of where the air hole is and try to present more of my coil on the air hole side. If you look at the pic above my air hole is on the side with 3 coils presented fully as opposed to the other side with just 2 coils showing in the clear. I don't know if it makes a huge difference but I still try to scootch my build a little more to the air hole side.

Carry on :)

Turbo taught me a trick where you leave both legs long and pointing straight down. Then you roll up the ends into like a lazy "J", slip those ends thru the holes and gently pull until your coil is in position.

Too damn easy.
I'll give that a try the next time
