This can not be changed for this batch, but why to change that?

Im assuming because its easier for some folks to build a coil with both legs going same direction instead of Z coil.I myself dont mind but might be something worth doing at some point :)

precisely. thanks, Vash

i'm a fairly recent Chalice coil builder, but i have seen several more awesomely experienced coilers (some in this thread, even) say that the Z coil is awkward. in fact, most posts i've seen says that the Chalice is awesome, but the Z coil is kind of a pain. that has also been my experience.

you already have the best BF rda on the planet. nobody questions that. but getting away from the z coil will make it even better for some of us.

hopefully, some of the coil-winding gurus will chip in here, to back me up...

ETA: I know this has nothing at all to do with the next batch. just a suggestion for far down the road.

We did the Z coil in order to be on top of the feed hole and from this position we gain some other features like not leaking ( all juice get back into the bottle ), even if using chalice for dripping the juice will drop on the coil, the looks of the interior is simetric and nice, etc.
To tell the truth in this position of the screws, to have no wire inside is a very triky job at this OD.
We apreciate all your imput and for sure will think at this for future Chalice.

ok. i suspect your next run of Chalices will sell out soon.

that said, any input you get from one or more of our bottom-feeder gurus and implement in future runs will pay off. as you are probably aware, the bottom-feeder rda market has been finally growing big in the last few months. seems like a good time to catch the wave, and, better yet, get ahead of the wave.

The center location of the coil in a chalice is the best location trust me. Like Mark says, it feeds and drains perfect. It is a bit more of a challenge to build but once you nail it it's the best.

I have another RBA that has a similar inside to a chalice and I mounted a side coil and the vape was not good.

I would not change the configuration of the chalice EVER. The design is amazing as is.

But the change to the screws is perfect and gonna make it much easier for me :)

Edit: the chalice is an atomizer that you build and do nothing but rewick from Time to time. Replace the coil once a month. I agree It's not the best if you like to recoil every day or experiment allot.

That's where the side coil Rebuildables shine and there's so many of those available for that already.

^ exactly. Keeping the mandrel in is key. And like master says, you may have to fire / squeeze once mounted to clean up the ends, but I can tell you now that I'm vaping a chalice right now that it's worth the extra effort it takes.

I will make a chalice micro coil video when my new chalice comes. It's all in the screws, or I'd make one now. Those screws destroy my fingertips.

My wife said I can only get one but that's cool. I already have one so two is fine. Then I'll run my oliveR with a chalice, my new woodvil with a chalice and a grand with a cyclone :)

Why don't you use a screwdriver? I use it for thiker wire.

I used to - then I fractured one of the teeth off. That was me (Russ) that ordered like 5 of the thumb screws and 2 of the old slot screws a while back.

Since then I haven't put a tool on my screws :)

As another person eagerly waiting on Chalice, I would like to make a suggestion.
Z coiling can be tricky due to threading of legs in opposite direction. My suggestion is to adopt "slotted" post design similar to one used in Trident RDA. By having open slot post, Z coil legs can simply be "dropped" into the post slot without the awkward leg bending.

If current posts are strong enough, the modification can be as simple as putting a slot from the top of post down to the current threading hole. If the post isn't strong enough and there is a potential for "splitting" at the top, a simple "cap" can hold the post together. Cap would have a hole in the middle for the screw.

I did the same thing to one of my thumb screws Russ. They are easily broken with a screwdriver.

We still have a lot of work until we finish this batch, but every day is a step forward, closer to finish

Hell yeah. You can just tell that a lot of work goes into a chalice.

I didn't know you made the screws too. That's awesome Mark.

Will there be any shiny ones or all satin?
