Hey guys,

So the 510 adaptor on my Chameleon is no longer making contact. It seems like the housing for the connector is not threading down all the way so it will not fire. Works just fine on my 801 or 901 connectors although. There is a very slight gap in the threading. The arrow points to where the small gap would be.

Your adapter is making contact, trust me. To check, remove the adapter and you will find that the top section screws down all the way. Check you atty centre post (that it extends past the threads sightly), this is an area often overlooked especially if the atty was used on other devices.

It often helps to post what was checked to come to a determination. This in turns helps the folks trying to help you. e.g was the atty metered, did it work on another device, is it all 510 attys or just this one, are your contact points clean (shiny) etc...

If you take the 510 adapter out, and the top sector screws all the way down to the switch, then you know it isn't the top connector, but the adapter. A slight gap at the top sector = the adapter pos post is making contact with the pos post on the switch.

Hey! Sorry for the late reply almost 5 days later lol. I have been tied up. Not such a huge deal to me because I do have another device for my 510 applications.

So with the 901 or 801 connector on the Chameleon the top section will screw down fully, although with the 510 it will not. I tested several atomizers and cartomizers and I cannot get them working with the native 510 connector. They do work on my other 510 device and they meter out okay.

When I attach my 510 threaded voltage indicator I can get a semi-contact. That is the digital display is dim and flashing quickly which I assume would mean it is making a very small contact. I find it odd because only a few hours before I posted this it was working a-okay. The top section screwed down fully. Now it does not.

This would lead me to believe that either the center post of the adaptor had been compressed or crushed so that the center pin of my atomizers/cartomizers does not make contact. It's either that or, I assume, it has to do with the top section not threading down fully because there is a gap present that was not there before. I hope that helps :2cool:

Try flipping the switch end for end. It is impossible to compress a solid piece of brass with an atomiser. Also ensure that the center post of the adapter is seated properly in the adapter (the part that is inside the unit) The post should be against the white insulator and the insulator resting against the brass connector. If it is not, seat them.
