Like ever drug on the market, they have side effects.

Both my son and daughter both quit using Chantix, however one of them sneeks in an analog every once in a while. My son says that if the urge ever returns that he WILL grab my PV and never touch an analog.

I asked one of my doctors to put me on Chantix because I wanted to quit smoking and he said he wouldn't do it because of the negatives involved, the side effects, to include the suicide rates taking Chantix.

So he put me on Bupropion instead, saying that it was one of the ingredients in Welbutrin to help smokers quit. Well after more than a year it did get me down from 2+ packs a day to as little as 6 analogs a day, but I gradually worked my way back up to over a pack a day. Then a good friend in NC told me he quit after 30 years using his PV and I took the plunge. Upon receipt of my KR808D-1 in the mail, I quit instantly and have not looked back.

I currently enjoy my Joye 510 and have been in vaping heaven for 38 days now!

I was taking Chantix for a couple weeks, and what a depressed feeling one gets when taking it. I had horrible dreams, and was melancholy the rest of the day, not to mention the terrible stomach aches if you didn't eat something first. The best thing a person could do is stay away from that stuff, it did help me cut down some the first few days, but after that I seemed to smoke more.

I took Chantix for one month and quit smoking with it. I was sick to my stomach for 2 weeks straight and I had trouble sleeping. I was exhausted but couldn't sleep.

Other than that I felt better than ever. I didn't continue after the first month partly because of the cost, which wasn't covered by my insurance, of $152 for a 30 day supply.

I then found e-cigs and started using them. There were times when I wanted a smoke so bad that I was afraid that I was going to break down and buy a pack. I will never smoke another cigarette.

I did Zyban for 6 weeks a while back,
Doctor wouldn't even give it to me without me forcing the issue,
said one of her patients had died in bed after being prescribed it.

Strong stuff (too strong), went to half dosage right away after feeling
the psychological effects, but it worked (for 6 weeks), i.e. until I stopped
using it & then found a quarter of a ciggie in my jacket pocket
- bang!, back on ciggies.

I took Chanitx for 69 days and I was off the analogs after 1 week, but then I started to have these huge anger fits. I didn't want to kill myself, just everyone around me. It finally hit my family that this was not working and my husband gave me a pack of cigs and took the chantix away. That stuff is evil and it should be studied a lot more. I am on Wellbutrin now partly due to the residual effects of the chantix. Don't take it. Vaping is so much easier. It only took 3 days to get off the analogs and tapering is easy.

I used chantix for 2 weeks, stopped analogs and started on my PV,took the chantix 2 more weeks (weaning dose) and have not even had an urge for analogs since. My emotions were crazy for about a week after I stopped chantix, while I took it my stomach was messed up. But I wanted to be sure I quit analogs this time. In June this year I tried just the PV and still craved analogs. Last year I tried Chantix alone and got down to 1 analog a day but back to 2 packs a day after I stopped it. This time I used both and it worked for me finally.

Buddy of mine was on Chantix and it did help him quit--but only as long as he took it. He was on it for over a year, but two weeks after going off it, he was smoking again.
Got him going with the PV's; he's smoking his last few packs while he waits for his kit to come in--no matter what, it's GOT to be better than Chantix...

You can't pay me enough money to accept a prescription on ANY medication still under patent. It's always fun to ask a doctor how much a drug costs, as they hand you the prescription. If they don't know (and they never do) I ask them to call a pharmacy and find out.

But the biggest reason I don't do prescriptions still under patent, is because they are all fast tracked, which means no one knows the full extent of side effects or health risks over the long term. And this has been true going back for at least 20 years. They put my mom on a female hormone at menopause. She did not respond well to it and quit taking it. Ten years later it was discovered it caused cancer. Do you know how happy she was she quit taking it?

No thanks. I will take a generic that has been in use for 30, 40 or 50 years so that ALL side effects, and particularly long term side effects, are well known.

And as far as Chantix goes, I will be DAMNED if I will take a drug that leads to suicide. Big Pharma can stick that one right where the sun don't shine, as far as I am concerned.
