If Phizer was supplying our e-juice we'd all be vaping freely without a care in the world. I believe that with every little particle of my pessimistic blackened heart.

Oh, I'm right there with ya, bud.

Of course, we'd be paying a lot more for our vaping fix due to taxes, though.

"In studies, 44% of CHANTIX users were quit during weeks 9 to 12 of treatment (compared to 18% on sugar pill). CHANTIX also helped reduce the urge to smoke."

18% on placebos?? Do you realise what this could mean to the sugar industry? Will the FDA ban sugar if they find out it has such a successful rate of cessation? I'm willing to bet that the side effects of the sugar pills aren't as bad as Chantix.

Yep, suicide and psychotic breaks are really effective at smoking cessation...and living cessation. Are you breathing? Do you have hopes and dreams, and activities that give you enjoyment? Ask your doctor if Quietus is right for you....

Of course, it's amazing what all those "user fees" the FDA collects will buy.

Three years ago, Pennisylin killed my only child. I am a fanatic about using as few drugs as possible (even those that seem harmless). Two weeks ago, I discovered and tried a Joye 510. I've been tobacco free since and am now going nicotine free also.

What I've been thinking about, though, is all the information being put out there concerning the fact that this is not FDA approved and so on. I know for a fact that it has helped me. I have a serious case of COPD and have not couphed at all for days.

However, I'm thinking that the e-juice industry might want to consider putting the ingredients of their e-juice on the bottles. Even though the FDA is not involved or forcing this at this time, think about it. We are trusting the makers of the juice with our health. I'm sure that 99.99999% of them are using ingredients that they consider to be safe, but perhaps it would be better if the user decided if they wanted to consider the ingredients safe. At this point, people could put almost anything in there, and we as users would never know.

I know I'm a little more crazy about this than most people, but am I off base?

No, you're not off base Pack-A-Day.. you're right on the money. It would only be responsible (and logical) for companies to place a list of ingredients on the bottle, so people know what exactly they are ingesting. Every product that we eat/drink/etc.. contains the list of ingredients, and liquid should be no exception. I am sorry about your child.

Wait... are you suggesting that "sugar" may have medicinal properties?
Haven't children been exposed to "sugar" in large quantities?
The FDA should ban "sugar" until further testing is done... for the sake of the CHILDREN!

OH CRAP....SUGAR TASTES GOOD AND SWEET LIKE FLAVORS TOO....
What a bunch of political BS....just admit it...you want more of my tax money to put in your political pockets....

I see all the time advertisements on TV about medications or herbal supplements that say "these claims have not been evaluated by the FDA" but they sell them on TV for crimminy sake? If you search for a reason why some things they dont worry about and some ie: ecigs, they do you will drive yourself nuts. It truely is about the tobacco industry losing out on all their tax dollars. The idiots that make up that group of jackbutts would have to sell their 2nd and 3rd houses and buy a smaller yacht...what a bummer..NOT

The FDA is insane in what they choose to endorse and what not to.
Thats what blows me away....what are the "guidelines" they follow...oh wait, there arent any..they just stick a finger in thier behind then hold it up to the wind and whatever side gets cold first is the way they go??

PCHOW! I like you. =)

Seriously, so many people are quick to run to drugs for their problems when simple diet/lifestyle changes would be more effective in most (if not all) cases. I wonder if this is the situation worldwide, or if it's just here in the "land of the free" that the populace has been so hypnotized by the philosophy of fear and dependency that they're afraid to try things that aren't "approved", rely on their own judgment and take care of themselves.

EDIT--realized that kinabaloo is in the UK. So I guess my question is: is there anywhere that hasn't been infiltrated by this cultural virus?

Also, poll: anyone from outside the US: what do you do that you wouldn't be allowed to if you lived here?

are the doctors who routinely prescribe pills to treat symptoms of an ill, instead of trying to figure out the cause and the proper treatment to cure it.

And, have you noticed how often the Chantix commercials are running now??? How many people really pay attention to the potential side effects?

All the NRT commercials run more during this season because it is New Years Resolution time.... But then again.. that could just be the FDA's excuse to run them and influence those considering the vaping trend to jump on the Big Pharma wagon, instead. I have noticed a large influx of commercials for all NRTs and on more than the usual channels.. so, I am leaning towards the FDA copout against the vaping crowd.... Beaureacratic Crapp>>>
