I hope they work as well for you as for me. I love how this feels now.

So was your issue getting the kick to make contact? I had that issue. The tubes seem be tighter at the bottom than the top. So I flipped them upside down. Works like a champ. But it doesn't do much for looks!! :vapor:

Not a problem to get the kick to work with a little brass shim work, but it just down right dont look good IMO.
I would rather use the kick in a different mod if I need that type of set-up, as opposed to using a unnatural looking mod. LOL

I could also do without the logo's. I am half tempted to sand them off and re= polish

Agree on the logos. I've yet to do any sanding/polishing on SS, but this may lead me to try. I'm happy I have a clone with "laser etching" - seems like it should come off pretty easy.

I think tomorrow I will give it a shot on the fake serial # on the brass mod, and see how that goes before I go willie nillie

Okay - I have the SS/Silver hcigar one from FT. I like it. Looks great. Hits great. Stands up straight and doesn't auto-fire. But...the bottom button was driving me crazy. Just a bit of a wiggle, but I tend to hit these off-center and it made for a strange feeling. It always fired, so the problem was definitely all tactile. I tried several different springs, but the original was still the best. Just not perfect.

I decided to try using magnets. Found a post on another site from someone who had done this, but they hadn't posted where they got the magnets from. But they did post the size that was needed so I went off on my own and found some.

I have a completely new mod. I love it now! It was super easy (this hasn't been posted in here yet, has it? Can't remember if I read this whole thread. I think I did...but anyway....)

So I just took apart the switch. Tossed the spring. Put two magnets on the bottom post and one magnet, reversed of course, in the top post well. It stands up great. Still has a short throw and it doesn't seem to take anymore pressure to fire. But the button does stay straight even if I hit it off-angle.

The magnets I used: 3/8 inch (9.52mm) OD x 1/4 inch (6.35mm) ID x 0.039 inch (1mm) thick Ring Magnet.

Now - I will tell you who I ordered from, but I'd recommend finding it elsewhere if you can. Five reasons:
1) They are $0.70 each. That's not entirely terrible, but....
2) You must order 10. Okay, so it's now a $7 mod. Not horrible, but...
3) The only shipping option is $6.60!! Holy Mackerel. Now the mod is half the cost of the...umm...mod. To top it off....
4) That $6.60 shipping doesn't get priority or tracking. They just wrap it up and drop it in an envelope. And then....
5) They only sent me 9. I didn't contact them about this because it isn't worth the time out of my day to do so. But it is just rude...after bending me over for $14 for a few simple ring magnets, someone could have at least double checked the order. Oh well.

If you can't find them elsewhere, I ordered from Super Magnet Man. I refuse to link to him. But he's out there. Enjoy.

Thank you for sharing the information regarding the magnet. I found a seller at ebay that sells this kind of magnet and they are quit cheap cost about $2.29 for 2 pcs and free shipping from HK ...the specifications are

Grade : N35

Size: 10mm diameter x 1mm thickness (+/- 0.1mm)

Hole Diameter:5mm

That's awesome! Care to share your technique on the brushed SS to get the mirror polish??

Did you just use fine-grit paper, and then buff the heck out of it??

Thanks dw,

My cell phone takes crappy pics. The pic is a brass CYC, I polished off the logo and serial #.
Just used an 8'' bench grinder with a buffing wheel and some green polishing stick stuff. I am sure jewelers rouge will produce the same result.

Cool. I figured that one would have to do some sanding to get that result, and probably would with the brushed SS. Wouldn't you think? I've been needing good justification to buy a bench grinder, anyway! lol. Thanks!
It's obvious now that its brass. LOL. I guess the silver ring through me off. Looks great.....

Has anyone got the boge cartos to work with the Chi-you clone ??
This was the last discussion on those. Sounds like it's an issue....
The mouth of the air hole on a boge cargo is much larger than a smoktech, then it tapers down a bit. Apparently the small center pin on a Chi You is just small enough to sit inside this large opening on a boge, blocking the airflow. This is what ive been told twice and its the only thing keeping me from buying a Chi. I really want someone else with a Chi and a boge to confirm.
Nobody has posted a quick fix yet.
