Silly me, I thought it was because most modern people have a more compassionate mentality than the average slave trader of hundreds of years ago.

I suppose it is refreshing to see someone hold on to those old school values by trying to convince others we should be working towards fewer human rights and more oppression of the working class rather than promoting silly ideas like elevating working class people to societal positions of self dignity and respect.

apparently evolution is a choice.... whoda thunk it.

DW

They forget that slaves have to be taken care of and Workers, take care of themselves and pay TAXES. Poor nations, are poor because they have poor people and rich people and no middle class to pay TAXES.

So what are your personal feelings on it?

Same old, Same old. The aristocrats are more than happy to move manufacturing to China, where wages are less and regulations are less. As long as the aristocrats profit, what does it matter what happens to the American people? This is the United Corporations of America and the corporations ARE the aristocrats. Disney bought and paid for a 20 year extension on copyright, EXACTLY one year before Mickey's copyright was due to expire. That's just one example. Any who believe you or I could get the ear of Congress in the way Disney did is vaping something far stronger than nicotine, of that I assure you.

Or they're happy that we're willing to sacrifice our sons and daughters as well as hundreds of billions of dollars while they reap the rewards of a peaceful Middle East ... i'm sure they're graetful, after all it is because the U.S. acts as their military that they can actually focus on building their economies...
Are you really naive enough to think that a boatload of countries around the globe, starting with the UK, Japan, Germany, pretty much all of Scandinavia, etc, etc... aren't hitting their knees every night thankful that the U.S. is taking the lead in the Middle East to ensure the continue flow of oil to there countries? They don't always say so publicly, but you can bet they are thanking us behind closed doors.

So it doesn't matter - we're just being manipulated into patriotism for the benefit of the rich corporations?

Your degree may have mattered when you earned it - but now a college degree is worth very little in the work place. ALL my friends who graduated with business degrees are unemployed - in contrast all my engineering and science major friends have great careers or are in professional/medical school. The situation has changed drastically from years ago and unfortunately college is a waste of money for most people.
Gashin, I worked hard and sent myself to college to get what you call a worthless degree. One of the first lessons I learned in business management was not to insult potential customers.

P.S. Everything we own, my hubby and I worked hard for, no one gave it to us.

Fighting between Israelis and Palestinians doesn't count :). Where is the war that is threatening our oil supplies? In fact, our oil supplies from Iraq were more stable with Saddam in power....

Fighting between them doesn't affect our oil supplies - unless Israel decides to do something stupid like bombing Iran... we have to realize the role Israel and the West have played in destabilizing the Middle East. It's not a one way street!

Yes, I agree, and repeat that you have shot yourself in the foot.......

What's a strawman argument lol.

You REALLY might consider making friends with either of Google or Wikipedia. How old are you, if you don't mind me asking? Oh wait, didn't you mention something earlier about college being a waste? Did you know you can learn about strawman arguments in college?

I believe the Arabs hate the West mainly because we colonized and exploited them during most of the 20th century. In contrast, China has only pumped money into the region while continually displacing the U.S. as many oil producing countries' primary customer.

What you believe is irrelevant. Explain the 1400 years of Islamic history, please where they also hated the West AND the east and all non-Muslims and killed 270 million people.

Africa--120 million killed
25 million slaves. It's estimated that five people were killed for every slave captured. That's an estimated 120 million people. Islam was responsible for the slave trade in Africa.

60 million Christians. 9 million estimated to have been "martyred" by Islam and another 50 million died by Jihadists. In the 20th century, a million African Christians were killed

Hindus- 80 million hindus killed by jihadists in India. India is half it's former size due to jihad. The Hindu Kush means "funeral pyre of the Hindus"

Buddhists in Turkey, Afghanistan, India and along the silk route. . . estimated killed, 10 million

Jews- can't really estimate since the population is so tiny. But, the jihad in Arabia was completely effective. Numbers in thousands, not millions.
