QUESTION... I ordered the new Microsoft Surface Pro w/ WIN8 yesterday. Has anyone here had the opportunity to use the SURFACE yet??
He probably sensed her personality and didn't want nothing to do with her. You said you didn't care for her. Animals feel things even more than we do. We see and hear....and they just know because of the energy someone gives off.
Well, that's scary... but thank you!
I've not tried the tapatalk on my ipad. Need to try that, I suppose.... although the website seems to work fine on the ipad...?
Nothing quite works perfectly it seems.QUESTION... I ordered the new Microsoft Surface Pro w/ WIN8 yesterday. Has anyone here had the opportunity to use the SURFACE yet??
I read some posts under the clearomizer thread that suggested the "VapeOnly" brand was made under the major Joytech brand, specifically for the eVic... not sure if that's true but some of them who have the eVic talk about the perfect fit..! It's a possibility, but all I know is they work great on the twist and now working great with adapter on the SI spinner.
Not yet but that is the only tablet that I may consider getting. Keep us undated on the performance though, I'm very interested on how you like it.
Website works ok on my kindle fire, but hard to post on. Tapatalk works good on my smart phone, but you can't "like". I like to "Like" posts, then I feel I can participate, even if I don't have anything to say. Sometimes I just want to be here, but don't have anything to say.....I can post, but you don't have all the options available, like on the computer....but on my computer - it's old and it's slooooow. So alot of times I use the tapatalk to read and then get on the computer when I post......modern technology.....Nothing quite works perfectly it seems.
Well I'm off to go shopping. Check in later.![]()

Funny you posted that video, Awsum. Wiseguy got out of his pen this morning.
I didn't latch the gate when I went into the pen and the wind blew the gate open. Wiseguy said "Now's my chance." He trotted right on outta there. First stop was the hay shed. The doors are closed but there are tasty crumbs by the door. I walk over with the halter and lead rope so he runs back to the pen.
I calmly walk towards the pen and he runs back out again, kicking up his heels and having a good ole time.
I lock the dogs up and grab a carrot.
He snorts at the carrot like it is a dangerous weapon and runs.
We do that several times with assorted head tossing and wild eyed looks and a couple of bucks thrown in for good measure. Nothing too wild just feeling good about getting out and running.
The last time he arcs out into the back area, makes a big loop, gallops by the propane tank and up the driveway. He zooms around the hay shed and back to his pen.
As soon as I get close he comes out the gate again but I have him cornered nowI dodge to the left swinging the rope. He turns to the right but there is fencing to keep in from running to the back. He swerves and trots to the left. I dodge to the left again with the arm out and the rope swinging. He feints to the right but I dodge to the right while I laugh at his wily ways.
He gets into the pen and I jog over and close the gate. It is a win for the owner in only 15 minutes.
You've done it now Awsum, I have to share Trooper's story. Trooper was raised by my friend Liz who was over Foal Train. At that time she also had a Perchie who had inflammation in his hocks and when Dino was healed I was to go to Mobile and get him for strengthening.
I get to Mobile to get Dino and Liz says "Take Trooper to PLEASE take Trooper". About this time we heard the biggest commotion,Trooper was chasing the barn help and he was only a yearling. Liz was stressed and had like 15 foals that were really sick so I took him. As we were leaving Liz says,'Raynes don't play into Trooper he could win an Oscar".
I got the horses home turned Trooper in with Dino and my other geldings. A couple of days later I caught Lance horse) running the crap out of Trooper and before I could get to them Lance had him cornered in their barn biting and kicking the crap out of this poor yearling baby. Lance has never acted that way towards another horse and I was furious for Trooper was so meek. The poor little guy.
Well I moved him, checked him over, called Liz and all she says is "Hooray for Lance,Trooper needed it".
The mares I moved Trooper in with doted on him, he was their "baby". Then I got to noticing bite marks on their ears, all but Trooper had them. So I camped out in the pasture a few nights and found out every time they took a bite of hay Trooper was nipping their ears.
Still whenever I was around he was the shy, sweet little gelding.
I wasn't too happy to find out that I had been duped by Trooper so I took him in the round pen. That's when Trooper showed his true colors. He came running at me rearing and I popped him on the legs backing him down. (If this had not been a home grown foal I would have never done that, but he needed some manners and he wasn't scared he was MAD) After this temper tantrum was headed off I
turned him out in a paddock with my younger draft horses. Darby took him under his hooves,I guess Darbs felt sorry for Trooper b/c the other horses couldn't stand him. I just ignored Trooper. If Trooper came up to be petted I didn't pet him and oh he could look so forlorn he'd go off by himself hanging his head as if he the whole world had turned his back on him.
This went on for several months. Everyday he would come down to the round pen and watch me work the horses and he would stay there until I was finished. This one day,I was totally concentrated on the horse I was training and as I turned Trooper was standing beside me. He had let himself in. I let the other horse back into the paddock and as I closed the gate Trooper was at the far side standing quietly,I pointed he took off walking then trotting, stepped forward he turned, raised my hand he stopped. Told him to come he did, said back he did. Just as if he had been trained for yrs.!!
I called Liz and asked her if she had been working with him her reply was "You have GOT to be kidding, the only thing I worked at was not killing him !!" When I stepped out the door Trooper had unlocked both round pen gates and all the five horses in that pasture was in my front yard.!!! I was NOT amused but I did and do appreciate his intelligence.
After my accident someone would feed and I would get the empty feed buckets. That in itself was a chore when I would drop one, Trooper would undo his stall door and come help. He'd pick them up for me. Its not something he was trained to do,he just knew I needed help.
He is still very much the Houdini, can still be the king of horse drama, his favorite thing is to make my husband scale the stalls. Thanks to Darby though teaching him horse manners Trooper has turned out to be all in all a little rascally prince.
We have a neighbor who wanted Trooper I don't care for her attitude she's a snob but she takes excellent care of her horses. She came by to look at him and brought her trailer. I'd gone to the barn to get Troop's halter and he had put her in the trailer and closed the door with her in there and was pawing the trailer door. So Trooper will stay here unless he finds that person that he loves more than me.
Natasha, I don't want to ruin your Surface Pro idea, but I find Windows 8 to be, if anything, a step back. To me it turned my high horsepower laptop into a smart phone wannabe that can't make real phone calls. Maybe with a touch screen it would be better, but I just didn't like the interface, called "Metro" at all. Keep in mind I'm a cantankerous old IT guy who started out with MSDOS 2.2 which may influence how I look at computers and OS "just a tad". I have installed an application called "Start8" which provides the functionality of traditional Windows, but those #^$*Q popout "charm bars" still keep popping out all the time. It's a question of time before I wack this drive and install Windows 7 and regain my sanity, what little I once had anyway.
Oh JoAnn I thought I was doing Trooper a favor. Most of my horses are problem horses like Trooper was when he came here, I wanted him to go to a home where he would get more attention and be happy. Trooper seemed to really like the lady,he was nuzzling her, letting her love all over him. I didn't know it was an act on his part. Guess he showed me. Like I said Trooper could win an Oscar. I won't let a horse go anywhere they don't want to go. I've turned down several offers people wanting horses, either they don't want to take time to work with them here so I can see how the person or the horse relate to each other, or the horse just flat out didn't like them,or they want a horse that I know they can't handle.
Last thing I want is for one of these horses to end up in a slaughter house. They are all rescues and I've had most of them since they were 3mos old. Out of all these yrs I've been able to only part with five of them. I go see them regularly and they have to sign a contract stating if for any reason they can't keep the horse they have to come back to me.
Dwi I think your right,I'm sure your right and I think that Trooper was bent on teaching her a lesson,I never dreamed he can be so manipulative and scheming. I knew he was intelligent but I never realized to what degree. If he had chose to he could have killed her. He was free to choose as he had no halter on,he could have ran from her or followed me.
Trooper faked us both out,he could have really won an Oscar on that performance. One thing about it,he won't be going anywhere unless he loads himself up in a trailer and then I'll know for sure its his decision to leave me
LOL.. I hear ya. Win8 def presumes that everyone has a touchscreen monitor. And it's a major PITB for those who do not. And IMHO should not be installed on new systems that don't have a touchscreen. It needs to be an optional upgrade.
I personally like Win7 just dandy. BUT, I think Win8 is going to be useful on a gadget that is both tablet & laptop. I hope.
I think it's great that, if you want to sell a horse, you'd give the prospective owner a chance to really get to know the horse and bond before sending it away. The only reason I can think of that a person wouldn't want to do this is if they lived too far away to make coming to your farm often a possibility. Also, bonding might take a while. I worked with Penny for about 6 months before I bought her. Granted, a lot of that time, I didn't know she was going to be for sale. And I was convinced I couldn't afford a horse, so I wasn't horse shopping. All my life I had bonded with other people's horses, never having one of my own, and I was used to that kind of arrangement. But Penny's owner decided to sell her, and she wanted me to have her. She did everything she could think of to convince me to buy Penny. Then, when nothing else worked, she said she was going to take Penny to the horse auction. Penny was still really skinny, and she had a bad-looking clubfoot, and I knew what would happen to her at the horse auction. I had to buy her. Looking back, I think maybe her former owner wouldn't really have taken Penny to the auction; it was emotional blackmail to get me to buy Penny. I have figured out how to afford a horse, though at times it hasn't been easy, and I'm sure glad Penny & I are an item now.
BTW, speaking of Penny, today is a lovely day, lots of sunshine and white snow, and I went to groom Penny. She looked glad to see me, though I think she's a bit of an actress, too. She never wants me to know that she's glad to see me. She wants me to think it's a privilege to see her that she bestows on me. I've always thought Penny had a queenly attitude, as if she's royalty, and I'm her favorite servant. She is not bossy or pushy -- that would be beneath her to act like that -- but she always has this attitude like she is cooperating by lifting her feet so I can clean them out like you would extend your hand so your manicurist could work on it. I think she likes being groomed, craves the attention, but she always acts like she's cooperating solely for my benefit.
With this kind of attitude, I was amazed to hear that when I was first hurt and didn't go visit Penny for a few weeks, she started getting very in need of attention from the barn owner. The royal attitude was gone; she was definitely begging to be groomed and petted and fed treats and fussed over. Now that my visits are more regular again, she's back to her old self. She did seem glad to see me today, though.
