Lizzie, you need either a double wheeled wheel barrow or a yard cart with pneumatic tires. We got one from Wally World that does double duty...a hand powered yard cart or a trailer that goes on the garden/lawn tractor. It's big enough to hold about a half yard of leaves and hauls up to around 600 pounds.

Yeah, I should look into a double wheeled wheel barrow. I have been threatening to get a small ATV for running around the yard and hauling stuff. You can use a little trailer with those.

Hello Volties. I made it through my surgery ok. The doc said I had to very large gall stones and my gall bladder was inflamed. Good thing I got it out. I was released yesterday but all I did was nap with Whisper. She has stayed very close to me. I finally passed gas this morning, so I think all systems are working now. I'm sore and I know I can't sit here at the computer very long. My healthy back chair is calling my name.

Hope you have a great day!

Glad that surgery is finally behind you! From this point forward, you will feel better each day.

Passing gas is definitely a good sign! :thumb:

It's getting to be that time again -- time to sign off for the night. At least my before-bedtime exercises are getting a little easier as I get stronger.

Tonight, since I saw some fruit trees starting to bloom, here's a bee and a blossom.

I really love this picture and I'm glad you are making such great progress with those exercises!! :)

Thanks for the coffee, awsum.

You have good taste in coffee, Cindycated:)

Awsum, at least you got rid of the gum ball trees and you won't have to rake those out of your yard too much longer.

Gee, Wabbit, all my clients have lawns that turn brown in the winter. It's not so bad:) I'm thinking about doing buffalo grass when I do the back yard. I'd like to put in large flagstones and then put buffalo grass and thyme in between the stones. Very water conservative and fairly easy to care for.

Here on the East Coast, grass loses some of its green, but it usually doesn't turn brown in winter, it's just sort of a gray-green instead of the bright green it is now. I remember in California, the grass turned green in winter and brown in summer, opposite of the way I was used to.

It's good to hear from you. Are your shoulders sore from hanging upside down? I'm glad everything's OK and working well. Rest up. What's a healthy back chair? Is it a special kind, or just your favorite comfortable chair?

My shoulders feel ok. I asked the nurse in the OR if my dress was going to go over my head when they raised my head to the floor. She said they tilt it, but don't go all the way. The only straps I saw was those that go around my hips.

When I had a good paying job a few years ago and was doing triathlon, I splurged and bought a healthy back chair. It's been going strong for over 10 years now. It takes all the weight off your back when you sit back in it. One bad thing is when I do have it all the way back, I have to watch TV through my feet! Here's a link: PC-410 Classic Manual Zero Gravity Recliner Series 2

Lizzie- I am taking it easy. I will try to get Whisper out for a tiny walk today. They really wanted me up and walking in the hospital so I'm following suit at home. Small meals are a must. So far I'm doing good with diet 7up and little bowls of cereal with Soy milk.

Sitting down, facing forward.
Tail, this is the one time that a lady can admit to, and be proud of, passing gas ROFLMAO! Glad to hear you're recovering fine. I've never been under the knife for any reason and sure don't want to start now at my ripe old age. I am assuming that it was arthroscopic surgery rather than the traditional large opening style which will make things a whole lot easier.

Off to mix some concrete....

I had my gallbladder surgery back in the early 70s... the old traditional way. It was a two week hospital stay at that time and I could not be released from the hospital until the "passing of the gas". That function is extremely important after any abdominal surgery, even now. When it finally happened for me, two days later, the nurses clapped and cheered... I immediately phoned hubby with the good news!

Tail, glad to hear you are on the mend and being taken care of by Whisper. Thanks for the link to your chair, I'm thinking my hubby will be really interested in one of those.

We've been having a slow, rainy spring here, but the temp right now is 79!! *Happy Dance* Finally, we can get out and get some of the bigger jobs done, or work on them, at least.

Number one is the road frontage. The county came through about a month ago and used some kind of monster shredder/kill dozer thingy and just devastated the trees and foliage along the road. We were not pleased, to say the least. So many trees were killed and they just kind of loosely shredded the wood and left it laying there. The ones that were too big to shred, they girdled them, leaving a potential hazard to cars driving by, they will eventually blow over and if they fall into the street, not good. I picked up a million branches and saplings already, but the big stuff needs to be taken care of. Some trunks are still attached to the stumps, which they also left, by a stringy mess.

I have to admit, there were tears when I first saw what they left out there. Yes, it was getting thicker, but they came a good 15 feet off the road and our frontage is raised above road level so it did not block any sight lines needed for drivers. We lost a couple of apple trees and quite a few hickory trees and at least one dogwood. :grr:

But, it is a beautiful day.......hope you all are enjoying it. And, just in case any of our absent volties are reading, we miss you and hope you are doing well and please come back to visit if you can.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I've been watching netflix all day. Came in to get some paperwork ready for my adjuster who is coming tomorrow morning. I'm dizzy and nauseated. I'm sure from both the surgery and the adjuster. Probably won't get Whisper out for a walk today. But need to take a shower and get all the sticky stuff off me!!

You poor little thing. Good plan on watching movies all day.

I sure didn't watch movies all day. I just came in to see how the bread is doing. I'm making one loaf of bread and 6 hamburger buns. My hamburger buns are sometimes an odd shape but they always taste good. I'll freeze up 4 of them for later and we'll have big burgers with a salad from the greenhouse tonight. Hope some more rads are available.

I have dug up three more raspberries to transplant. I put them in the shade and will get them in tomorrow. I also have weeded and weeded today. My Friday cleaning job canceled so that means I don't have to make sure I don't get too tired to do a good cleaning job. Still, I think other than finishing up the bread and making dinner...I'm pretty much done in for the day.

I put Wiseguy in his round pen. I think I'll spend 20 minutes letting him eat rice grass and then feed the critters and sit down.

Wow! That's chair is a bit too rich for me! Do you think it's worth all that money? I think I'll just have to sit in imperfect chairs.

It sounds like you are doing well. I think exercise within reason is good for healing. Just walk a half block, or whatever you feel comfortable doing, and increase the length of your walks gradually. You'll be back to normal and riding your motorcycle again before you know it!

BTW, we've been having perfect motorcycle weather here, and I see a lot of them out on the road now. Today it got to the mid-70s at midday! I went to the barn to groom Penny with just a T-shirt, no flannel shirt, jacket, sweater, or anything! Yippee! Warm weather is here!

It's good that you are up and moving around, but don't try to do too much. Walking is good but don't take long walks at first. I'm sure Whisper is quite content to just cuddle up and watch movies with you. :)

Hope everything goes well with the adjuster.

Tail11, Glad to hear you are recovering. A close friend of mine (male) had to go in for emergency gall bladder surgery because (typical man) he ignored all of the signs of a ruptured gall bladder. He is fine now, but was in the hospital for almost a week. I have no idea whether it took that long to pass gas for him or not, but nobody EVER cheers when I pass gas  but I do get quite a few killer looks from Mrs. Wabbit.

Best Wishes for a speedy full recovery.

Wabbit

Sandy - the chair is well worth the money. And they last forever. (Knocking on wood right now not to hex it.) It was very comfortable for me and Whisper to lay in all day yesterday. I napped most of the day and when I went to bed, I almost got up and slept in my chair.

One thing I noticed is that my throat was really sore after surgery and I coughed up a lot of thick rubbery phlegm (sorry to be graphic). It was as if I smoked up to the minute of surgery. Yes, I did smoke for about 5 days after the burglary, but went right back to vaping once I went to work. I've never coughed up this much stuff in any of my previous surgeries and have never had such a sore throat! Of course the wind is blowing terribly here and it looks like a big plume of dust all over the city. That probably doesn't help my allergies at all.

I didn't take my vaping devices to the hospital. I thought about it once, but was fine without it. I did give my X2 to my friend that picked me up so I puffed on it on the way home. It was hard to get a decent drag without going into a coughing fit. I'm vaping a bit more today, but not near as much as I was before.

Today was spent pulling all the bandages off. The must have used a whole roll on my stomach! It will feel good to take a shower!
