The wabbit is up out of his hiding hole (I prefer this to a blanket). Put on some Dunkin Donuts fresh ground coffee for all ya all (Southern Saying) and received an e-mail from Wizard Labs saying my Double RY4 is back in stock. Unfortunately 25% of the other flavors I need are now out of stock. I love WL prices, but they are becoming so popular that they are constantly out of stock on many favorites. Anyway, I ordered some alternate flavors and I am going to try Graham Cracker, Earl Grey Tea and Juicy Peach with some of my DIY mixes.

Mrs. Wabbit will be "sitting" with a friend's mom who has Alzheimer's so she can get some time out of the house, and I will be "home alone" hiding under my blanket  Just kidding and spoofing you gals. It is VERY hot here in the East, but I prefer it to the cold of winter any time. I need to do some mild house cleaning while Mrs. Wabbit is out, check on my garden, vape, sleep, eat and watch some TV. Just a very exciting life for an old rabbit.

Have a great Saturday everyone and I will be checking in off and on all day.

Wabbit

I dropped out of communism class in college because of lousy Marx.

Graham cracker and peach sound good, Wabbit! Your hiding spot is probably much better than hiding under a blanket! I've always wanted to try Duncan donut's coffee, so thank you very much!

Good Morning Wabbit, Awsum and Tritium. The menz R here:)

Well, the overnight temp was down to 55 degrees and it looks like it might be 94 degrees today. That is at least within the realm of reason. Hubby and I have lots to do all of it involving manual labor. Hang lattice, insecticide a couple of trees, lay the wood chips in the island, finish the last bit of painting.

You amaze me, Lizzie! I hope to have your kind of energy and motivation, someday! Take care and don't wear yourself out!

It's futile to try and catch up, so for now, a simple good morning will have to do!

Good morning, Flowersoul! Nice to see you!

Good morning Volties! I love Dunkin Donuts coffee... Thanks Wabbit! :)

It's another hot sunny day here and I'm loving it. Spanky and I did our morning walk before the worst of the heat so all is well. It will be the normal inside housework for me today. Then it will be browsing my favorite vaping websites to see what I need... well maybe not what I need, more like what I want. ;)

I'll be checking in here throughout the day so I hope everyone has a good one... later!

Hehe! I just placed a "necessary" order, myself, for vape supplies! ;)

Good Morning gang! Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend so far.

Everything is upside down here, it's the summer production shut down for Mr. Q, he is maintenance/repair so worked afternoon shift this past week, starting day shift on Monday, then back to midnights the next Monday. Fun fun fun!

Our riding mower is down for repairs too, we are hoping it's just the coil wire, one is on order. In the meantime, I am using the push mower and being reminded how I used to do the lawn/trails 15-20 years ago. No wonder I was so darn skinny back then. It is great exercise but gets old fast!

We have been seeing a fox running back and forth behind the house lately. Gosh, it's just beautiful, we rarely see them. We saw it stalking a turkey hen with her poults, then heard a lot of squawking, poor babies. It's the natural order and all, but awwww. The good thing, I suppose, is that there are lots of turkey hens around and most all of them have a little flock of turklets, as my son used to call them.

We also have been enjoying a nightly show of fireflies. There are soooo many this year, it's just the prettiest thing to see them twinkling out there, it's as if someone strung a million mini twinkle lights across the whole property. I have always loved them, I used to go out and catch them, till I taught the boys how to do it themselves. If you have a tiny penlight and turn it on and off really fast they will come right to you. We would catch a few in a jar and bring them inside. I would let them go when the kids were asleep, they always thought it was magic, hee hee. Fun times!

Have a great day everyone, I will be lurking around as time permits.

ETA: LMAO....you guys are too funny!

Ugh! What a schedule he has! Hope he's able to sleep while chaging his hours like that! I loved catching fireflies as a kid! One kid I knew would skate over them with his rollerskates and his skates would glow. I felt bad for the fireflies that were sacrificed for his enjoyment, though!

Thanks for the coffee, I could use it. I don't dare drink my water with the amount of flooding last night. We had to take in our neighbors for a couple hours due to the water level in their basement -- it was up to the floor boards of the main floor. We're still pumping out my basement now, but it looks like we lost our water heater, furnace, and two freezers. We'll see what else is gone when it's cleaned up. That's what I'm doing for the day. I hope everyone else has a better one.

Nuke that's awful! It was nice of you to take that family in for the night! Good luck!

yes we all know what happen to poor old GODZILLA...melted in a pile of toxic gas...:evil:Theres a cool tune by Blue oyster Cult...called Godzilla...

Deb, I love that song! That's the only thing I miss about my husband playing Guitar Hero! Being able to sing along to Godzilla and a few others!

Hope everyone has a great day! Going to sleep, shortly!

Tail, I've noticed that when you take pictures in low light, everything turns a yellow-brown. It looks good, but I'm surprised to see so much furniture there. Don't you move it out till everything's done?

Those pictures were taken from my iphone which is not very sophisticated. I ordered a new camera which should be in next week and hopefully I'll be up and running again with a decent camera.

Since it's a floating floor, I usually move the little stuff out but the computer desk and the bookshelf is to heavy so I slide it to one side. Once I get the floor in on the other side, I slide everything onto it and finish the other side. I did that with my other two rooms and everything turned out ok. It might not be the best solution, but when you are doing everything by yourself, it has to suffice.

Tail, if you take your baseboards off to install flooring you may want to pay close attention to where the nails are located. If they are nailed to the wall studs and there seems to be too much space between one or two of them on a wall that has a bathroom, kitchen or utility room on the other side, that may be where the pipes come up through the wall. I've seen a lot of nails driven through pipes cause major problems. Often they don't leak right then. They wait until you leave, then rust out and spew water while you're on vacation thinking everything it fine. I spent about 45 years in the residential and commercial construction building trades.

Thanks Wuzznt. This room doesn't back up to any bathrooms, at least on the walls I'm working on. Most of the plumbing is in the slab. ;)

nice work tails..
if I can be nosey? who is the cute little red fellow in your cabinet?:)

That's Splash. He's our minor league baseball team's mascot. I went to a game and he was a giveaway one night. I've worked with Splash on a couple of green/recycling events. The poor soul that has to wear that costume is usually drenched in sweat. Although it's a bit fuzzy, you can see a couple of pictures of me on the wall back in the day when I was doing triathlon and had quit smoking for just over 5 years during that time frame!

========

Well, the floor isn't going to do itself, so time to get busy. My fingers are hurting from arthritis and my allergies are in full gear. At least it will be in the low 90's today, so I won't be sweating like a pig!

Have a wonderful day volties!

I'm sorry the flooding has gotten so bad where you are! Are you near a river or creek that rose, or is it simply rainwater that accumulated?

I believe it's from the excessive amount of rain lately (the ground won't take it) and a failed dam above my town.

What kind of camera are you going to get?

If moving everything from one side of the room is easier and it works, why not? I always look for the easiest thing to do, too.

Arthritis AND allergies? OMG! You are strong to work in spite of that! And low 90s doesn't sound good to me. Maybe low 80s, but even that's pretty hot in my book.

The failed dam is probably what did it. Depending on how much water is leaking from the dam, that could inundate everything downstream. I feel so fortunate to live in an area that doesn't get flooding. The creeks near us aren't dammed, and they are in fairly deep gorges. I guess there are low spots in their banks where water could rise over them, but again, that's pretty far away and downhill from where I live.

That's what I'm thinking too. I just haven't seen any news on it, but I did see them refilling it earlier. I don't know if you remember Morrisville well, but that whole street where you go to 4-H was all water. The side roads were all water as well (I live on one of them just around the corner from 4-H), and it was continuously streaming from the top of Rt 20 near the police department.

It's very odd. I just Googled it, and no news of a failed dam or any flooding in Morrisville! You'd think a local newspaper would have an article online! Do you think they're trying to hush it up for some reason?

I don't remember Morrisville very well. It was years ago when I went there, and all I remember is that we went to a large indoor horse ring that I believe was owned by SUNY Morrisville. I don't remember at all how I drove there, for instance. I do remember that it was a fairly long car trip -- over an hour, I think.

It's possible they're trying to keep it quiet. Our town is a bit messed up. The fire department pumps out only family members first, which is not very smart if people have water up to the electric boxes like my neighbors. Also, dams should be checked often during these heavy, week-long storms, and you could tell they haven't done so with the amount of water. If they said it was the dam, then I'm sure people would try to get compensation for the loss.

Oh that is horrible Nuke! I hope you don't find more things damaged. Hopefully you and your neighbor will be able to replace those items damaged or totally lost.

Thank you. Unfortunately, flood insurance wouldn't have been necessarily worth it. This is the first flood like this in my lifetime. Snow is the regular culprit for damage around here. A quarter inch of water is the normal flood level for my basement, so we just kept our things off the floor. That didn't make much difference last night. We may be able to salvage the water heater at least, but we won't find that out until tomorrow when it has had time to dry out. At least it's beautiful outside (for now), so everything is drying up quick.

Poor Nuke. So nice of you to help your neighbors.

Glad to hear you a Penny are okay, Sandy Su.

JoAnne - That Spanky is so cute and I bet he loves to go for a snuffle walk since he is a spaniel and probably likes to snuffle with his nose:)

Hubby and I got the lattice up on the wood shed. Someone gave me two foot wide 8 foot long plastic lattice last year so I thought that was a good use for it. It goes with the theme of the shade/hay shed which also has white lattice for air flow. We put squashes in there and garlic and such to dry and we store hay and straw in there as well.

We were going to do the top of the horse shed in lattice but it turned out that we needed materials. By the time I scrounged up three 2x4s and the lattice and the stubbie 2x4s we needed, the oomph had gone out of that project so maybe tomorrow morning.

Hubby is putting wood chips into the new improved smaller island in the driveway but I am officially hiding in the house as it is almost 90 degrees. I finished picking peas and then I cam in and shelled the garden peas right away for a delicious snack. A little butter, salt and pepper; one minute in the microwave. Yummy.

I applaud you for taking on that major project by yourself! I have these things called "moving men" that slide under the legs of large heavy furniture which makes moving them a breeze and doesn't hurt your back. I love the color of the wall. I'm sure you will have great satisfaction when everything is finished. Excellent job!

Madvapes has a new tank... The Vision 3.5ml dual coil vivi novas. I found them thanks to Debra's keen eye. Of course, I'll "need" to try it out! ;)

I didn't like the iClear 30 but maybe I'll have better luck with these. I won't know unless I try one. :)

In slab pipes come up inside the walls to get to the faucets of sinks, toilets, showers, washer hookups etc. It wuzz just a word of caution in case like most folks, including some proffesional trim carpenters, you hadn't thought of it. I'd hate to see you have a problem. You've had enough trouble lately.

Spanky always keeps his nose to the ground. I have to keep an eye on him... keeping him away from other dog's "business". I guess he wants to find out which of his friends was in the area.

When I was a little kid, there was a lady who walked her dog, named Peter, on our street. I used to stop and say hello and pet Peter. One day, when I noticed Peter sniffing where another dog had peed, I asked the lady why he did that. She said it was like a person reading the newspaper. I've always liked that analogy.
