Were you in during the Vietnam War, Wuzz? I was, but they sent me to Korea, for my overseas duty.
Lucky dawg.

And how are things with you, Debra?
and you?Besides this heat wave, which I hate, things are going well for me.![]()
There's one thing that I learned in my 63 years on this planet, Debra and that is family is important, very important. Stay near your folks and they will be happy and you will be happy.yes feel very sorry for all you folks suffering heat waves...god knows I don't miss it...its like our winter atm...is not that cold...only a few chilly days...makes me wonder whats coming for us our next summer...I want to move to Tasmania..but my folks will be sad if I move ..
TRUEMorning/night to you too. I was trying to read those articles, but all I see is lack of common sense.
Where is everyone? Where's Raven?
Hi Jerry.
Yeah, she's usually on top of threads that are getting carried away. I only read through the first few pages, so I might have to go back and see how bad they were. I stopped when I noticed people were talking about different stories like they were one.
Didn't she say she might not be around this weekend? It's Sunday, so maybe she'll check in soon.
Good morning, Peeps. The closest I got to Florida, was Brunswick, Georgia, Jekyll Island to be more precise.
The closest I have ever been to Florida is Houston Texas![]()

Looks like folks in here need to take a road trip!! My hubby and I dragged the kids all over the place. I think we've hit nearly all the states east of the Mississippi, and a bunch west too. After the boys were older, we were able to leave them home and have some time to ourselves, which was really nice, and we didn't have to worry about finding someone we could trust with our dog. We were just talking this morning about how we haven't gone anywhere this year, trying to figure out how we can get away now that our youngest has moved into his own place. Our dog sitter has flown the coop! Love my Mac to pieces, but he is not a good travel companion. Looks like for the time being we will have to make due with day trips.
Hope you all are having a good Sunday!
I suppose when you are raised in such a beautiful area you learn to leave well enough alone and stay put? I love to visit new places, but I would never move away from the Great Lakes. Well, maybe if I had unlimited funds I could leave for the worst part of winter....yeah, I could live with that.![]()
Although, hubby does want to go out East to Baltimore, MD, and West Virginia to see his family. He hasn't seen them since he moved out here over ten years ago. He really wants to see his grandparents before they pass away. Personally, I want to move there. This morning, my friend Karen came and rode with me. She rode one of the barn owner's horses, Ali. It wasn't as hot as I anticipated. The only adventures were that Penny stumbled over a fallen log -- she has to learn to pick up her feet and watch where she's walking, something you'd think she'd know by now, and she went to her knees and I thought for a moment we were going down, but she recovered -- and Ali was very bothered by the flies and decided to roll while Karen was riding her. No one was hurt, and it was good to be riding again. Then we went out to lunch at Red Newt, which was always our favorite restaurant, but they changed the format, and we didn't like having our menu and the wines chosen for us. I guess I should email Red Newt and ask for the old lunch menu back again. I can't understand why they changed, since there was a lot less business than Karen & I remember from before the change.
morning volties........interesting thread to read ..The lady who caught on fire...I read all 19 pages....Oh dear...![]()

Hope you all have a great evening and Deb, a great day. It's 9:10 PM, here, so I assume it's day time there.
