My daddy instilled a good taste in cars in me before he died. Also he told me if I ever get a Ford truck to make sure I get one from before 1980 which was when some yahoo screwed up how they were made. So I guess I would stick with my favorite Ford era 'the Fifties' and get one with all the roundness and bulbousness:p. I like the fact that they are all made with metal and when you pop the hood to work on them you can see the ground! Carburetors!!! I hate fuel injectors and all the dang wires and such:glare:...
I learned to drive on a 1950 Ford and my first road car was a 1960 Ford. They were nice, but they rusted out too easily. If one didn't have a garage to keep them in, they were doomed.

I don't remember them wearing jeans, back then. Poodle skirts, dresses, short shorts, those I remember. But I was really too young in the 1950s to pay close attention to what women were wearing. LOL

I think women in the '50s wore dresses more than jeans. Kids wore jeans. I did. Maybe my mother did when she was housecleaning or something, but I don't think she dressed in jeans regularly.

I would have! I really couldn't stand all the dresses. I went to church all the time growing up and I was not allowed to wear pants in church till I was eighteen and that was because I left from the church straight to work.

If you're getting an antique truck, get one old enough that it has running boards. I remember them. We used to sit on running boards of cars parked on the street to put on our roller skates, which were metal and clamped onto our shoes and were tightened with a skate key.

I love those trucks! they remind me of john steinbecks the grapes of wrath (the book) I almost had me a pair of those skates, I was in an antique shop with my mama and there they were, but alas I was broke. I had just bought a buttload of books!:p

Back in the '50s, no female of any age would wear pants to church. We dressed up for church. We also wore dresses to school. I wore jeans after school and on Saturdays when I went out to play.
